I took my mother for supper at a fine dining Turkish place. We went Friday though to avoid crowds and such since she feels uncomfortable in them. Whop gonna be a late response, just finished getting up to date with this thread. To me it seems you have an over-developed form of ‘mask-syndrome’, how I like to call it. You said this a few times already, that you don’t act like yourself most of the time. That you rather be a bitch to someone than show your true nature. Like in my first post in this thread, I had similar problems but not as severe. (I’m just going to call them problems hope you don’t mind). The reason ‘why’ was hard to admit for myself, but I feared being rejected by people if I let them know who I was. Do you have the same fear? Genuine question. You don’t have to answer. People like to act tough, stand strong, carry on. Like to keep their fears hidden, more from themselves, than from others. Countless of times I’ve said: ‘I don’t care what people think of me’. Matter of a fact though, I did care. I just didn’t know myself, or couldn’t admit that to myself. In the end we gotta realize that this behavior gets us nowhere. To grow as a person we first have to become a person. Becoming a person means accepting ourselves and accept that others have the choice to do so as well, or reject us. We pro-choice in this bitch wopwop. I am no one, for all you know I don’t exist. I somewhat agree with this view of yours applied to the online world. Although I’m certain you are a real person behind your screen, you’re not real to me online. It’s a weird thought but I mildly understand what you mean. As for in the ‘real world’; I could say ‘hey I understand’, but I rather say I don’t fully. It’s weird because you say you love people, you also have a girlfriend. Yet you feel disconnected from the ones you love. Maybe, it’s because you are so distant from them on an intellectual level (I don’t mean you are smarter or dumber, I mean in the way you think). As you said, you don’t easily open up to someone, or have no ‘real friends’ to do that too. It’s not that hard to see why you have this feeling of disconnect when you maybe never connected in the first place? If I misunderstand some things here, just tell me. I’m kinda writing my own thoughts here. Friends, friends, real friends, trust.. I once wrote about this in a PM sure I still have it.. *searching* *found it* Just wanted to share this view of mine on trust with you. Of course the people I truly trust are also my closest friends. But, like I said I perhaps see trust as something higher than friendship/love. You and me are friends, aren’t we? But we don’t trust each other I think. I love my mother maybe more than anything in this world, but do I trust her with ‘me’? Hell no. I don’t think a lot of people have friends they can completely trust with the key to their souls. I’m just very lucky in that department I guess. Talking online is also a lot easier than talking to someone in person as it matters less what they think with of you. They also don’t know who you are IRL. All those things make it easier to open up, but it can also make it more dangerous. You shouldn’t feel discouraged if you don’t have this trust connection with someone. You can still talk, speak about your feelings, in the end it’s you who decides the line. I’m sure some people on these forums would genuinely listen to you or maybe have already done so. Talking is relieve, it’s weird how such a simple thing can free up your mind. So talk, type, even if no one responds, you said it. Lastly I’d like to say, you don’t have to see this as advice. I’m sorta’ writing out my thoughts anyway. Just something to think about I guess. I would however like to advise you to find or experiment with particular hobbies that help express emotion. Seems like you already have that though in designing tattoo’s or drawing. Which is great! Keep that up because it will surely help you. I myself write lyrics and play music to express myself, and it can help others too haha. I probably missed some stuff or misinterpreted some, I’m bad at summarizing posts. Anyway I’m done now C: Fine!
