  1. I've been unhappy with PokeMMO for a long time now, and I'll just share my personal reasons for no longer playing. The base game will give you around 200~ hours of actual gameplay before it relies on you creating your own playstyle. Whether you want to spend hundreds/thousands of hours hunting with the horrendous shiny rate, or grinding money & playing PvP will little reward, we should all agree the base game is VERY lacking in actual content to play. Due to this, the game relies very heavily on the social aspects of an MMO, but for whatever reason, moderation had escalated over the past few years. So much so that the majority of active English players are almost exclusively in team chat/private discords. This makes it VERY difficult to have a good social experience in my opinion. Global chat/discord have just become hubs for asking for help/helping others. Very rarely will you find any actual conversation or activity. The forums were once a place where shitposters could have their fun, competitive players could discuss/argue every day, new players could find new friends/help, and teams could have a hub where everyone was available at any time. The forums today are merely a shell of what they were a few years ago. My next biggest killer is probably the largest; the economy. I'm sure we all remember April of 2018/19? when we had such a large influx of new players. Things seemed to be fine for the main part, actually GREAT for the game to have such a large influx on new players. Unfortunately, these players found a VERY good way to earn money; berry farming. If you maximized your time, you could spend one (yes, 1) hour worth of planting/watering to earn 1 Million dollars in 3 days. The method then becomes creating 3 accounts, and planting on altering days. This way, instead of earning 1M every 3 days, you are earning 1M every day, per account. A lot of players found this method, and decided to create 6+ alt accounts to abuse this method, earning literal MILLIONS every single day. The price of the Blue Flaming Skull Mask went from 20~ million to around 70~ million in the matter of a few months, and hit a peak around 100M later that year. This is just one example of how much money was being generated in the game. Vanities SKYROCKETED in price while every other item dropped significantly. (Everstones 21k to 6k within 3 months) This method of earning money was not patched for months, and the economy has still not recovered from it 2 years later. Every month or so, I talk myself into coming back to play PvP, until I am then reminded why I left in the first place. The amount of time, effort, and recourses required to play effectively is not even close to the worth of the 'rewards' given to you. The developers are not PvP players, so they do not see the issue with the current systems. Every single PvP player has complained about how bad being a PvP player is here, yet they still refuse to address this issue seriously, citing 'economy' as the reason for not wanting PvP players to be rewarded adequately. The same people who allowed us to farm MILLIONS from a broken PvE system for months, will not throw us a bone to make our experience even remotely worth the time. The things we have asked for are not outrageous in the slightest. We have asked for: -- Better than 25 IVs on tournament prizes -- Shiny prizes for tournaments -- Seasonal tournaments w/ exclusive rewards -- Seasonal vanities (that don't suck) -- Scale value of prizes, MM and tournaments, to that of PvE (1 hour of gym running should not be more profit than 1 hour of a competitive ladder) I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but these are not absurd requests that would break the game. These are simple things, some that we've been asking for for YEARS now, that would make PvP more appealing to not just us, but casual players as well. I'm sure I could find much more to complain about, such as being teased about dungeons for 5 years, no hidden abilities, no true end-game content, no true team-based content, a GTL system that has made socializing even less common, etc. but I am bored of screaming into an endless pit where developers will not address any of these issues so long as they continue to earn donations from a certain group of people. I put over 5,000 hours of my teenage life into this game, because I met some incredible people & had some incredible experiences, but the developers & game itself have sucked every bit of enjoyment I once was able to have here. This game boils down to; Grind money/Breed/Grind Money/Invest Money/Breed/Shiny Hunt -- repeat, repeat, repeat. I'm sure I'll still check in, I haven't quit entirely, but please believe me it is only because I care about the people who play this game, not the game itself. This game is mediocre at best & completely carried by the friends you make while you play.

Today most of my team just left PokeMMO for another game, listing following reasons as to why: * Recent grinding nerfs (Also ghost nerfing) * Tediousness and repetitiveness of grinding * Lack of end-game content * Lack of recreational activities * Toxic community * Slow updates (VERY slow.) This upset me very greatly as I was having a great time with these people, now when I log in I am usually the only person online. But I must agree on the listed reasons feeling extremely discouraging aswell. And I was wondering what other people felt about the listed reasons, and what could be done to improve the experience in this game. As for now im not feeling it, especially after hearing about the recent nerf to Meowth hordes again, feeling like this ghost nerfing is no healthy way for the game, then for the players later on to realize oh well they did it again. I do agree on the listed reasons, but mostly I feel sad that im yet again logging in to no team.

  3. My first ot shiny in almost 800 hours! Ever since I got interested into Pokemon I've always been a big fan of Altaria. Now after half a year of boring sweet scent-ing I finally completed my dream (((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) This is too eye-watering, I'm gonna cry.

  4. Let me preface my opinion with that I love Pokémon and I love PokeMMO, but I can't help but feel that they're all incredibly realistic gripes with the state of things. The nerfs, both publicised and ghost, are getting more and more frustrating and feeling more and more like a hostile environment towards the player base. I can't help but feel that the regular nerfs will eventually just make even the most tolerable of farming methods or grinds just unviable and uninviting for the average player. There has to be a good balance between making money and having fun, and right now that balance seems way off.

  5. We have been begging for gameplay updates since forever - the PVP ranked revamp was a good start but we just need more MMO things in this game. Guild activities, raids, quests, housing and so on would put this game on a whole other level regarding longterm motivation

  7. The constant nerfs to anything slightly tolerable money-making wise really has gotten old. But I've yet to see the devs change their mind on anything.

    We can't do a whole lot if you suck at playing video games. So, how did the others get through that point? Yes every trainer has coverage moves that's just a challenge. Also, you don't need to train for "10 hours" meh. GIT GUD LOL Fr tho, if you stop being salty and actually explain the difficulty you're facing in calm way I'm 100% sure there are people who can help you out with teams/strategies and what not.

  11. The solution is drastic change. Either the devs can't do it, won't do it, or don't care. Can't do it because it's literally a team of 4 handling this massive undertaking which is a tall task for even a small game development company let alone 4 devs who are fans of the game. Won't do it because they are fine with the status quo as long as money keeps pouring in. Expanding the team requires money to be spent. They just got too comfortable with the money they are getting now to contemplate sharing some of that money to new members who could potentially help them with developing so that we don't have to wait years and years for updates that never come. I really hope that they do care because they have done something amazing by creating this game and it would be a shame to see it die due to negligence or incompetence. I'm just a new player so I can't understand the frustration of people like Paul who have been here for a lot longer than me. Still I love the game so I hope the devs listen to their community.

That was not really what I was trying to discuss, I wanted a civilized discussion about the listed reasons, why people leave because of them, other people's opinions on those matters and etc. I am sad that my team left, but it is what it is. They may or may not come back if change happens in PokeMMO. Also thank you everyone for your responses, I am truly grateful to hear your stories and opinions.

  18. I have similar thoughts, but I do think our community is great. There are much more toxic community in other Pokemon MMOs I can always ask questions in global and get answers quickly or search up guides in forum, which I rarely experience this from other games

PokeMMO Tutor Moves Listing and Requirements Written by Lin Spanish Translation by MrPeruano Following the 29/07/2020 update, every region has 2 NPC's which can be found in every pokemon center in each region. One of which is a move master that will teach your pokemon certain moves in return for specific items and the other is able to reteach your pokemon moves that it has or would otherwise learn from levelling up as well as functioning as a move deleter as well. This moves offered by the move tutor in each region is different and this guide lists which moves are available in which region and what they require to tutor. Each move tutor requests a specific colour of shard and another specific item as listed below. Use CTRL+F to search for a specific move you're looking for.     The Breeding Guide

    *Not so new anymore kek What is the goal of this guide? 1. To explain the basics of the new breeding system. 2. To explain how to acheive a perfect 6x31, correct nature pokemon, and how much it will cost (on a monetary level). 3. To also provide a more "economical" approach to the breeding system. 4. If you wanna know how much breeding might cost you, check out OldKeith's Guide What is NOT the goal of this guide? 1. To argue about whether or not the breeding system should be changed. 2. To complain about losing pokemon in the process. 3. To vent anger at the system. 4. i.e. Anything not related to receiving/giving help with breeding Disclaimer: This is a TEXT HEAVY, Graphic Minimal guide. If you just want to know the basics of the new breeding, then read the numbered list below. If you want to know how to breed what you want, then delve into the sea of text in any of the following three sections. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Basic Breeding Video (Highly recommend watching, especially if you don't like to read): ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So, here are the most important mechanics in the new breeding system: 1. Both parent pokemon are traded away to the daycare couple and will NOT be given back to the player. 2. Two parent pokemon will produce ONE egg (no more, no less). 3. An egg will hatch over a period of time (no steps or flags anymore). 4. One can give an everstone to a parent with a desireable nature to have a 100% chance of passing that nature down to the offspring (the everstone WILL be consumed along with the parents). 5. Three IVs are passed down directly from the parents to the child. The other three IVs are then calculated by the averages of the parents, which are rounded down. 6. One can use a brace, which can be bought from a NPC who resides in each daycare for 10k each, and these braces can be given to a parent to ensure that a specific IV of your choice is passed down to the child (this DOES count as one of the three directly inherited IVs for the child). 7. If a pokemon has two potential abilities, then there is an 80% chance that the mother's ability is passed to the offspring. 8. The player is capable of switching a pokemon's ability with a consumable item; thus ability breeding is not a concern at the moment (mechanics for abilities will change in the future as stated here). 9. You can choose the gender of the egg for a fee, listed in the spoiler below, which scales with the species' gender ratio (the more unbalanced the ratio, the more expensive). 10. Genderless pokemon of the same evolution line (i.e. a magnemite and a magneton) can breed together. Note that you still cannot breed two dittos together (but ditto still can breed with any other pokemon). 11. Hidden Power breeding is mostly pointless, since you can get a 6x31 pokemon with any hidden power you want thanks to typed gems (look up mysterious gems). 12. This is a useful guide for egg move breeding. 13. You can shiny breed in this game. 2 regular parents give normal (1/30,000 + modifiers) odds of getting a shiny. You cannot breed a normal pokemon with a shiny pokemon. If you breed 2 shiny pokemon together, the offspring will be shiny. The IV's are passed in the following manner: 2 IVs are randomly selected, but can be dictated by Breeding Braces 2 IVs are randomly selected, but they choose a stat (of which cannot already be selected by the previous bullet point), and then picks the higher IV between the two parents the remaining 2 IVs are averaged between the two parents. Bred shiny pokemon's OT is determined differently than regular breeding. If the offspring pokemon is of the same evolution line as your OT shiny, then the offspring will have your OT. So, for example, you have a male shiny Charmeleon, and you breed with a random OT shiny female Charizard. Even though the female parent isn't your OT, the offspring Charmander will have your OT. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -credit to RacheLucario This section lists out step by step how to get a perfect 6x31 pokemon with the correct nature.   26. I agree with many points however I feel they may have gotten themselves in the deep with promises. There are 4 devs and using a rom to make a game is a lot different than making your places and whatnot. It reminds me of a game my 8 yr old brother plays called Loomian Legacy the community was begging for updates, and they forgot the 5 devs had families and full-time jobs. The game was just a hobby they were forced into. Now for the team aspect, I was blessed to be in a super active, hilarious, amazing team everyone is awesome except you Daq. We host our own art events, catching events, PVP events, we use showdown, live streams, and prank each other are team is a family and It makes all the hassle worth it. I advise you to hopefully find that community for you best of luck from an Optic Grunt. P.s let us be real if you made something like a small fan project and end up making some money would you want to change the formula to success I lot of people change the formula and it puts more work on the devs, so they probably see the chance things will die out I'd be worried too.

  39. The ability to poof a shiny into existence, no matter what price tag you put on it, is a very quick way to completely destroy the game's shiny economy. Even if it's untradeable, it still has an impact as the species becomes less rare/special among the playerbase as more and more people obtain them. It causes the demand to go down as people get what they want without the tradeable supply going down alongside it, resulting in reduced value. A lot of a rare shiny's demand also comes from how few of them there are in the world. This suggestion sets a hard ceiling on the value of tradeable shinies too - why pay more (current market price) for one with random OT/IVs when you can spend less buying enough RP vouchers to instantly make one that meets your standards yourself? It's not as harmless as it seems. Anything that translates to "shinies are easier to get" and/or "more people have rare shinies now" is going to have a very significant impact on their value.

    This has already been suggested countless times. I agree with implementing the legendaries but not the method ... There are other good options, such as simply capturing them in certain areas of the game, or as a pvp reward (Although that could bring imbalance between new and old players). I do not agree that they cannot be used in tournaments, that is, for something the game is divided into tiers ... Ubers would be playable and in OU there would be very good pokémon like Heatran or Celebi giving more variety.

    I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to be in most of your shoes, but it will never surprise me that some people won't admit that they dropped the ball with this by letting these items back in the first place. It's also not surprising that the moment you introduce any element of luck into this game, that there will be a few who are willing to exploit it to its fullest (for example how Wobba-Rain was spammed). There is hardly any utility in bringing back these items, and if there were any, its utility is heavily outweighed by the negative aspects it brings. The only utility it can serve is by possibly making some sets more viable, but at the expense of completely negating another player's already well-built team. I've seen games where a Cloyster is able to beat a +2 Physical Defense boosted Reuniclus just by flinching its way through with Kings Rock. Just because these items weren't banned in Smogon, doesn't mean that they should've been unbanned here in MMO. One possible reason as to why it wasn't banned in Smogon is because these luck-based items are rarely used. The reason for their lack of usage is because there is a stigma associated with running cheap strategies like this, and it's one of the best ways for someone to overlook your skill level and thereby not get picked for a team tournament. Players there are on a higher skill-level and most have respect for the game to not settle down for such strats. The reason its usage is picking up here in MMO is because rather than educating newer players on how to get better by properly playing the game in order to reduce the skill-gap between themselves and a higher skilled player, the ability to use these luck-based items is a quick-fix in reducing that gap because you can skip the "playing better part to the "victory" part. Players here also don't suffer any form or backlash or repercussion for running such strategies other than losing a few points on the ladder. These very same players are probably ones who ladder casually and have nothing to lose while the hard-working players lose valuable time spent in grinding / teambuilding / playing to get better. Re-introducing these items simply added more external factors into a game that we cannot control and we already had enough of that as is.
