With our inaugural draft out of the way, time for some predictions on potential steals and a way too early power ranking:
Best credit/value picks:
Taillows: idk tbh. everyone seems either fairly priced or overpriced. really comes down to how much yetto can provide as a teacher (the money is granted; comes down to learning the tier and playing it well)
Luxrays: Gasyflour- a first round pick that shocked every other manager into 10 swift seconds of silence. probably the player with the greatest mvp potential on this team given the doubles expertise combined with already bred lc doubles comps, she'll have a big advantage from the start; we'll see if the field catches up.
Legends: Poufilou- a uu sleeper for sure. he never really liked using overused mons to begin with, so this tournament can bring out the best in him if he gets the opportunity
Charmanders: aftershocker- overall an incredibly solid player for 2cr. availability is the only thing that would limit him, but the roster seems stacked enough to thrive when he's not around.
Scraggys: pachima- has boxes of mon ideas and is excellent at feeling out a meta and beating it down. does he speak french though?
Rayquazas: BartekDolar- has official tournament wins, and has a teammate who owns 0 lc comps and got bought for 17 credits more... lov u @CHUCKunso
Mienfoos: Havsha- have to give the queen some love here, has plenty of experience in lc and is definitely worth the steep price of 0 credits, thank you all
Way too early Power Rankings:
Top 3: synergy and reputation are a common theme with the top 3 teams. players are familiar with each other, play together well and when it comes time to play, have shown that they can
communicate in a group callperform at the highest level1) Charmanders- Well placed bids throughout. Not sure how Darker plays into the mix, but the team is solid enough regardless.
2) Scraggys- Surprised DH didn't get price baited as much here, he was basically allowed to draft everyone he wanted with little resistance. Definitely a contender here
3) Rayquazas- I'm honestly surprised that as much as RDL got price baited, he still had 19 credits to secure Chuck the LC main (dont mind me im just salty i dont get to work with you lmao). He's got a core that synergizes well overall and always finishes towards the top of the standings in major events
unless they get caught coachingnext 4 in no particular order: Lots of unproven talent here. But that's the point of the event; I'd love for these teams to prove me and the MMO staff wrong: that there CAN be room for growth and development in Little Cup; just give the players a little more incentive than a 6x31 larvesta on a weekday afternoon
Legends- lot of older names, only reason they're not higher is because the format has since died officially and most of them shifted to other tiers, so let's see if they kept their 2018 form
Taillows- hesitating to rank this team higher because although these names are well known competitively, LC wise, a lot of them are new. high ceiling low floor
Luxrays- monkeydmathew mvp
Mienfoos- have a surprisingly good group here after day 1 of working with the team. time to find out which 100 credit roster gets rolled by this 0cr one.

This is long overdue in player selection events imo, but players that are not selected in the player auction will still have the opportunity to play in this event as a collective group: The "Scrubs" (or however they'd like to call themselves). Figured I might as well hash it out pre auction. So I thought about leaving this name as is, but @pachima's old PSL team reminded me that I could have an equally awful name and give it some alliteration and symbolism.
They've been hated. Never given a chance. Cast away without a majority TC vote, then thrown away entirely from official play. But they're back now and are out for blood.
