  1. IGN: Zokuru Time Zone (UTC Format): +1 Discord: Zokuru Preferred Tiers: OU + Everything Fluff : Fraud host forced me to edit my post Donation : We'll see if the event is handled correctly first.
  2. You don't need Dugtrio to cheese matchups, and Dug isn't that great at doing it either, you're using a flawed argument.
  3. You're talking about trapping as if you couldnt play or build around it, check your skills.
  4. OK here, look at what you di : you ignored most of my post, and focused on the ADV argument which was a little part of it, so please answer the rest. You said I was comparing the two tiers when I wasnt, I merely said Dugtrio here was an enabler to some styles, and prevented some threats from becoming way too strong like in ADV. ( Examples Traps Ttar : Enable Shedinja / Toge, Traps Volcarona : Prevent it from being too good ). Dugtrio has a 3% usage stat in PokeMMO, it's even less than ADV. I didnt say Dugtrio as the pokemon itself was the same, I said its effect are comparable. Indeed Dugtrio dosnt have Focus Sash in ADV, you know what ? It barely played Focus Sash in SM OU, DPP OU and SS OU even tho it was available. Then let's review the arguments you used to say that Dugtrio is not that good in ADV but is broken on MMO : 1) " it does not have the tools to taking it onto the field as freely as there is now " Apparently my guy never heard of Zapdos + Dugtrio, which is a basic combination in ADV aimed at using Baton Pass into Dug to trap an incoming Blissey, similarely to what Shedinja does in PokeMMO to trap Ttar at the different that if the Shedinja is forced to BP everytime because sand kills it instantly when Zapdos as the right to just click a Tbolt and trap later, or click Sub into BP to facilitate the trap. 2) " not having a preview of the team makes it harder for you to recognize the threat you need to eliminate" If you're a good player it's easy to guess the structure, and you know what to save your Dugtrio for. Also you are using a trapping Pokemon THATS HIDDEN FROM YOUR OPPONENT, the non team preview favors Dugtrio easily. Again you're speaking uninformed or in bad faith. 3)" (Not to mention that you are forced to use cb so it ends up being boost bait for salamence or others). Here use your own reasoning and understand that Dugtrio players in ADV are loaded with anti Salamence ( and the likes ) measures if they teambuild correctly. 4) "Besides, nothing there is made stronger than it really is thanks to dugtrio " ADV literally has multiple Offense styles based on Dugtrio's ability to trap key threats, as well as multiple stall styles utilising it defensively, and in all cases it's a unique niche Dugtrio has that nothing else can do, a lot of things are made stronger by Dugtrio, and a lot of things are made weaker, and like in MMO its perfectly healthy. So you're completely wrong, and I like to remember you that you dodged most of my post. I hope you're not being of bad faith, that'd be bad for a TC 🙂 ----------------------------------------------------------- Again missing the argument, hopefully this time it's clear enough for you. " I played every competitive generation from gen3 and up- Dugtrio was always oppressive " Probably not to a good level since I don't know you anyway, maybe it's a skill issue.
  5. Trying to emulate Smogon isn't gonna solve PokeMMOs problems, Dug is doing an ADV OU-like job here, it's far from broken or unhealthy. In fact it requires skill to build with, play with and play against. Also its usage is very low, there are a lot of problems with high usage in the game right now that aren't adressed, it would be good that the tiering council take care of that instead of trying to make PokeMMO a Smogon copycat mindlessly; and I say that when I'm someone who's pretty sucessful on Smogon and have had to play countless metas with Dugtrio allowed (before its bans or ADV OU). Banning Dugtrio here would be a crazy mistake.
  6. That's pretty concerning about how new features are balanced.
  7. Seconding that, WishTP Chansey is a big part of games being too long, and TP is gonna be a problem if Slowbro is added at some point. It acts as a nasty MU check by allowing a team to bypass the fundamental mechs of Pokemon, and it requires low skill to abuse. While it is not inherently broken it has a very bad impact on the metagame and it isn't rewarding good plays, even forcing pseudo 50/50 in favor of the chansey user for no cost whatsoever. Teleport itself isn't a problem, as Wish isn't one. I would suggest that Teleport cancels pending Wish, and that Future Sight should be added to this when Slowbro/king gets regenerator if Teleport is to be conserved. Otherwise just removing Teleport wouldnt hurt the game at all, this is also currently the biggest concern on releasing Slowbro's regenerator in my opinion, as well as boots for those who are wishing for it ( which I'm not, esp with Teleport in the game ). I'll take advantage of this post to point that with 16 recovery PPs and Teleport being gone, while it would be a huge shift, the game can probably be fine competitvely with both new items ( loaded dice, boots ) and the best HAs (Regen in particular), but I want to stress that it's a sine qua non condition, and that it would hurt the competitive integrity of the game for sure otherwise.
  8. It's just because not a lot of competent people are playing this metagame, PokeMMO isn't a game as huge as Hearthstone or Smogon OUs, but you can go ask people directly or try to understand Pokemon as a whole looking at Smogon and learn this way. People are not holding informations for advantage, it's moreso that there's not a lot of places to give them
  9. Slowbro would indeed be extremely toxic to the tier, but it isnt nearly enough to stop Gallade. I advise you re-evaluate your competitive pokemon understanding.
  10. Regenerator Pokemon don't beat Gallade, and if they are too good for the game and need Gallade to be balanced then they shouldnt be introduced.
  11. We finally have some real tournament action for Gallade as this tournament took place a few days ago, and since I finished 2nd behind @gbweadI've experienced and seen a lot of games in this tournament, so here are my thoughts on Gallade. The first thing I want to say is EVERYONE CAME PREPARED FOR GALLADE. So it's not a problem of adaptation, the things Gallade did in this tournament was done AGAINST its counterplay. This is very important. Also this tournament was an invitational so we assume the average quality of players in this tournament is higher than the average of the PokeMMO community, therefore if Gallade is very oppressing it's not due to poor skill from the opponent. So here is what I noticed, first people used a lot of Jolly Gliscor, Pursuit User and Offensive teams. Despite that Gallade was way too good due to the 2 main sets I've seen : Assault Vest and Choice Scarf. For let's tell the obvious, if Gallade can switch moves, and uses Ice Punch like most of the ones we've seen this tournament, any team that's not offensive will get into a lot of trouble, obviously it's not impossible either but Gallade isnt the only Pokemon in the team and it's not too hard to make it very overwhelming. Now for more offensive teams, Assault Vest Gallade is a nightmare, it can stay on stupid stuff and take one or two KOs pretty easily, just for being there. Also you always have to take into account this Gallade could be scarfed, and Scarf Gallade into Offense is really terrifying, it does so much damage that it doesnt need much more support than a team that's able to weaken a bit of everything to close it up. Also it's noteworthy that Scarf Gallade is very good against slower teams too, i've seen it run Ice Punch to afraid Gliscor and be able to trick something else, and you just come back to the first scenario but better for the Gallade user. And that's not taking into account other sets that are more specific in the way that they can demolish even more easily a lot of teams but less universal. Substitute 3 atk, Choice Band, SD LO, SD Lum, 4 Atk Lum, 4 Atk Leftovers, all of that is doable and has its traits. Gallade's item isn't that much important when it's not Choiced so if Dugtrio becomes the norm to try to beat Gallade then it can use Shed Shell way more confortably than a lot of other Pokemon. EDIT : Even something as niche as Muscle Band is good since it gives you the 2HKO on Skarmory after rocks without drawback : 252+ Atk Muscle Band Sharpness Gallade Sacred Sword vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 147-174 (44 - 52%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock Also sets like Bulk Up to be better into Pursuit have not been explored yet and could make it even better, this Pokemon is insane in term of versatility while still always retaining its ability to threaten the whole metagame, which means it doesnt have to pick its counter, it just picks what it beats harder than the rest. Conclusion : Please nuke this thing, it's equally unskilled as it is strong, doesnt require specific build to work, and has very limited counterplay. People don't understand a broken Pokemon doesnt have to sweep you right away to be too good, this shit does way too much for a single slot in a pokemon team requiring no support.
  12. Would it be possible to have a real discussion without people who have not clue of what they are talking about, or obvious trolls who made an account yesterday? I believe this is an interesting topic and it needs educated discussion, not lines and lines of bullshit.
  13. Yeah I've heard of hazards, it takes turn to setup and it doesnt even really stop Gallade. Yeah I've heard of sash, i've you heard of hazards? Psycho Cut / Night Slash completely destroy most ghosts. Most teams don't run Trick Room, and outside of trick room Gallade might be able to clean up in a lot of situations. Psycho Cut bypasses Rocky Helmet, and Gallade can absolutely switch out of scarfed mons, and come back later for another kill. Rain teams have a decent MU against Gallade that's right, but they lack the good switch in, so on turn 1 Pelliper can be heavily damaged which is v bad for the rain team, or be a threat late game, which is already very good for such a Pokemon versus a rain team. Shedinja dies to night slash, 2 if you use sash and have you heard of hazards ? Also it's very specific. Sableye is the only decent counter, and it's very specific and not even good in OU, it's very easy to help Gallade to beat Sableye using Dark Type Pursuit. Your own Gallade is a speedtie that's not an answer, I dont get how dragon tail or ww beats Gallade, you just die before you can use that.
