About Me

Firstly, I want to say that when Ruby and Sapphire first came out in the packages with the guidebooks, Action Replay models were introduced with Box Art featuring what looked like a Baby Kyogre and a Baby Groudon. I went looking for that image to put as my profile pic. but it doesn't look like anyone took a picture of it and uploaded it to the internet, so I'm settling for a Rayquaza.

I have my older brother Mike to thank for getting into Pokemon at the age of 9, when he had Blue Version, which I saved over his file not understanding at the time it would delete his game.

I've been into Pokemon games since 2000 as a first generation-er. I've been a PKMN Card Collector since the First Pokemon Movie (Mewtwo Strikes Back) aired on TV when I was 7 and Burger King released the very first "Pokemon Cards" in the United States, which were cardboard cutouts of the movie Pokemon, with quizzes on them, but didn't get into playing the card battles until 2001.

Over the years, I've collected many rare Pokemon cards and Japanese Pocket Monster Cards. I used to play Red and Blue Version all day in summer in the living room while my older brother did the same, and Mom would bag at us to go outside and play instead of sitting for 8-12 hours looking at our Game Boys. I did miss out on most of Gold, Silver Crystal Version, as Everytime I'd buy an expensive version from Electronics Boutique, EB Games, or GameStop, the save file would get corrupted, so I eventually gave up. I did get a good run on Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 with the transfer pack with the FB and GBC games, as well as Hey You Pikachu on a HYP System my parents got me for Christmas in 2000.

When Ruby and Sapphire came out, Dad bought me the Sapphire version bundle with the guidebooks, and my older brother Mike got the Ruby bundle. I never got to experience the GameCube Pokebox system, but I did get a good run with Pokemon Colosseum and Ruby and Sapphire with the transfer cable, which me and my older brother, as well as one one of my younger brothers shared on Zelda the Wind Waker via the Tingle Tuner. I also enjoyed Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen Versions and Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness with the transfer cable and the Wifi adapters. I didn't find out until last year that the GameCube games came with bonus discs to get a Celebi in-game, guess that cures my curiosity on the mysterious Celebi you see in-game lol. Also found out that the Japanese Bonus Disc has a Jirachi instead of a Celebi, so now I had to order Japanese versions of Ruby and Sapphire last year to trade that Japanese Jirachi from the Japanese Bonus Disc on a Japanese GameCube, so I can trade it to my U.S. GBA games to transfer on up to the newer games. I also have played a little bit of Pokemon Pinball, Pokemon Dash, and Pokemon Ranger and other offbeat Pokemon games.

When diamond and Peal came out I got all my Pokemon transfered up a decade ago, and I was the first person in the United States to own a HeartGold or SoulSilver Version, as I ordered a Japanese Heartgold version from PlayAsia.com the very first day it was released in Japan with 1 day shipping. Once they came out in the U.S. I ordered U.S. Versions also, and loved the Pokewalker. It was a great experience for me because I never fully got to experience Gold, Silver or Crystal due to save-file corruptions every time I bought one.

I also enjoyed Platinum version and got to experience PKMN Battle Revolution, although it was my least favorite of them all. The music from Colosseum, XD Gale of Darkness, and Battle Revolution always made me sleepy, but Battle Revolution had a very different feel to my traditional Pokemon experience, and it's really only worth it for the Surfing Pikachu.

When Black and White Versions came out, I got my Victory Pass and my Victini as one of my first Pokemon. I had to get another DS to transfer all my GameCube, GBA, and DS Pokemon to Black and White Versions. I had an unfortunate even happen to me where I lost everything though.

So like I said I'm working on the Jirachi from the Japanese Bonus Disc right now, so I'm back at the start of my Journey for the 2nd or 3rd time in my life in the GBA and GameCube era again, starting all over from scratch. Same with my Pokemon Card Collection. The cost of a GameCube Pokemon game with the bonus disc is expensive, both the U.S. (Celebi), and the Japanese (Jirachi) versions, as is the costs for Pokewalkers to go along with new versions of Heartgold and SoulSilver.

I'm a semi driver now, new to my job, so I play while I wait on loads or on the weekends, but at least I can now afford the expensive costs to complete my National Pokedex in newer generations. I have not gotten to experience any games past Black and White yet, I'll do that when I'm all caught up again, until then, I'm enjoying PokeMMO!
