    The idea would be to make it so if people in a link get into the same area and catch the same pokemon a certain amount of times, the enc rate for that pokemon, for the people in the link would increase.
    So for example: Myself, Clue, BarackObama, and a random we recruit from global are shiny hunting pawniard, we all get in a link, go to route 9 and we all start catching the pawniards we see to increase our chain, lets say we need 10 pawniards caught each, now as long as no one breaks their chain by catching a different pokemon, we would all have, lets say a 5% increased pawniard spawn rate.

    The numbers would be up to devs to decide based on what they think is best for the game, Im just using 10 pokemon caught and 5% boost as an example.
    But the idea would be to encourage the MMO part of PokeMMO, getting people to socialize and form shiny hunting groups. It would also encourage single encounter shiny hunting which is probably the least used form of shiny hunting

    I see no reason as to why these names should be excluded from the pool of available names. Current active players should be rewarded by allowing them to reclaim these short names from the innactivity pool. Currently players can only claim new names of 4-19 characters in length.

    After my team grinded an ungodly amount during shiny wars I would like to bring up a few things that I noticed. Almost my entire team tracked their playtime and encounters, and with this data we saw some pretty egregious things occur. Usually I am against conspiracy theorizing about shiny locks and such, as it is usually baseless and not well supported, but after playing so hard this war and collecting lots of accurate data, we saw something that I think is worth bringing up. Before I begin I want to say that this is an explosive area of conversation, and if people spread negativity because of it then it will be very unlikely to be productive. I'd prefer conversation about it to stay as honest and civil as possible.

    A few months ago, some players were curious if their accounts were being shiny locked due to not completing story and being treated as bots, which ended up being revealed as true. Specifically, if an account does not progress through the story at a normal rate, it will become shiny locked, however upon completion of any region, this lock will be removed. It was also said that "This should never affect anyone playing the game normally." It would be naïve to think that this is the only shiny locking mechanic in the game, because there are many other ways for an account to be classified as NOT playing the game normally. As we pushed this game to its limits this event, I am certain we triggered some bot flags that resulted with some of us being shiny locked at some point(s) throughout the event.

    Here are just a few pieces of evidence, I will start with the most convincing.

    First is Karowo's dry streak. He was probably our hardest grinder, playing 17+ hours a day on average, and keeping track of all of his encounters. From August 16th to the end of the event, Karo never got a shiny, while maintaining this level of playtime. He counted 448,000 encounters, and he played on mobile some as well which aren't counted in that total. Let's do the math on the odds of going this dry, not even factoring in the context of war. We first need to identify his shiny rate, but it is important to be conservative. Karowo was at least on donator status and somebody else's charm the entire duration of this streak, and popped hundreds of his own charms as well but we won't even consider that, so let's assume his rate was 1/25650 (+10% from dono and +5% from charm). (25649/25650)^448000 comes out to a 0.0000026% chance; that is 1 in 38.5 million, and again, that's being conservative. Karowo made a ticket once he passed 300k dry and it was instantly reviewed and they replied "It's just bad luck". When the odds get this low, and considering the circumstances around this streak, that argument doesn't work, so this alone proves that there was some sort of external influence.

    Next is luiofficial's dry steak. This one isn't quite as bad, but it still is compelling data. See the screenshots below.
     


    We have to do a different calculation here since he did end up getting a shiny between these two runs, so we will use a binomial calculator. We will make the same conservative assumptions about his rate, that it was 1/25650. Here is the result:

     
    This one isn't nearly as unlikely, but again, still enough to warrant suspicion, especially considering the second half of the event was when he ramped up his playtime even more.

    Third is JWTree's consistent bad luck in the last half of the event when he ramped up his playtime as well. He got 8 shinys, with an average rate of 1/58,569. His last 3 shinys were encountered at these numbers: 136,463, 80,543, and 117,965, and another 24,087 encounters were done after the last before the war ended. This could certainly be blamed on bad luck, but considering the other things we experienced, I am skeptical.

    Fourth is our experience in the last 48 hours. Many of us tried to stay up until the end of the event, ending up being on the game for 30-40 hours of those last two days, and during this time we encountered our worst dry streak of the whole event. We went 15 hours without anyone getting a shiny at an average of 25 players on at once, all horde hunting. I can only speculate numbers here, but it doesn't take much thought to realize how insane that is. The only 3 people to end up getting a shiny on the final day were people who did not pull all-nighters and weren't on for a ridiculous amount of time. This is obviously quite anecdotal but I'm sure there is a decent chance we were flagged for suspicious activity, resulting in none of us getting a shiny in that time.

    The last piece of evidence is the sheer amount of people we had with shiny averages ranging from 30k all the way to 60k. So far we only have 15 members who reported their averages, and 8 of them are as follows: 31.8k, 37k, 51.3k, 42.9k, 32.4k, 41.6k, 58.5k, 32.2k, and 103.8k (Karo's). Our lowest 3 averages are 19.2k, 23.7k, and 26.2k. These lower averages are certainly something you should see during an event this long, but these high averages are quite absurd, especially considering everyone was on donator status and someone else's charm at least.

    I'm sure the higher ups/devs have access to all of this information so they can verify these numbers are accurate/check out, and I really would appreciate an honest response and look into what we experienced during this event. I am already quite convinced that there is some sort of account flagging system based on playtime that we ran into, and if @Kyu can confirm or deny its existence, I feel like that is warranted. Usually I am opposed to @ing him and bothering him, but since we put in so much time, effort, and money into this event and have strong data to support this claim, I think it is a fair request. The other chinese teams who were grinding hard alongside us, ETG and ALO, might have some data too if anyone feels the need to reach out. And if this system is real and was influencing the performance of teams in shiny wars, the integrity of the event would be called into question and I'd imagine the top teams, if close enough, would have to all be awarded the wings, and if the event occurs in the future, measures will be taken so that this system does not have an impact on teams performance. I do think that this event was awesome, and in the future will be even better, and I think more attention from the devs could certainly achieve this. My main concern after finishing this event was this potential playtime flag, but other than that, I agree with most everything people said in this thread.

    Nobody mentioned this, but having an official shiny wars event without an official in-game encounter counter feels weird. This could be interpreted as a general game suggestion, but I believe its positive impact on this event is significant enough to mention it here. I know the devs will eventually develop an encounter counter, but I think it should be a high priority for the next shiny wars event. Not just for keeping track of encounters, but also to keep players motivated and encourage content creators to make the best possible content around the event.

    Tally and publicly post the team scores every week or so to avoid so much secrecy, and so the teams can see how they're doing compared to other teams. Being in the dark for 2 months about team scores and then finding out everything at the end doesn't seem ideal

    - Shorter Event duration is the simplest one
    - More focus on the rewarding system, because right now rewards don't feel worth unless you're first or mvp.
    - You already mentioned balancing of spots

    - Team roster increase, i think 50 players per team is the right amount (  teams with full 150 active players or close to that it's easier to just make 3 teams, not much room for drama honestly ).
     
    - SHORTER EVENT DURATION PLEASE  ... 1 month is the sweet spot for sure.
     
    scoring system ideas:
    - rotation system, example: all x5 hordes shinies worth the same amount of points but only once, like if i catch a shiny magikarp is gonna worth 5 pts but if i ended up getting another one he's gonna worth less, till it's capped in 1 or 2 pts for the rest of the event. ( the primary goal of this system is to let the players hunt whatever they want and explore other methods / horde options without having the feeling they're throwing or not going for the meta mons / strategy )
     
    - brute force system, example: players are only allowed to catch the same shiny 3 times, after that the shiny is gonna have a huge nerf of their points, forcing players to hunt somewhere else. ( the primary goal of this system is to prevent meta hordes being abused and basically like the name say, force players to be creative and explore other methods. ) this doesn't necessarily need to be active for everything, but i can see it being really good for meta spots.
     
    - BETTER REWARDS ... bro ... what's ppl gonna do with rp rewards ..  when everyone is spending like crazy all event .. just give 2nd and 3rd places another option of exclusive vanitys, maybe give a full set of vanity with 3 pieces ( or maybe with fancy effects ) for the 1st place, then 2 pieces of the set for 2nd place, and 1 piece for the 3rd place.
