  1. can you please update the original post list? 🙂
  2. absolutely no delay! i've only recently started announcing cc tiers on stream and i do that after the captains already know it
  3. when will alpha rotation start? i'm confused about it...will there be specific times to catch the alphas? how many alphas per day? if we lose it can we catch it after?
  4. Quick fix: I will update post when I get home from work but the correct lineup for Germany vs Brazil is: Lineup Germany Week 1: OU: ChuckUnso OU MC: katangaaa UU: Pottina NU: RexB NU MC: LynxL Dubs: CaptnBaklava I mistyped it onto the board.
  5. Totally support this idea....we have xp charm, amulet coin/rich charms why not egg speed charm...have it like 10-20% which would reduce by 1 or 2 mins respectively...these would be a valued commodity among breeders
  6. Interview of the Chile team captain @Sebatby @Complutumin Spanish (English subtitles soon)
  7. PS: I think the WC should be an official tournament but that is a whole different topic 😛
  8. Even though I'm relatively new in the community I've been hosting events for a long time and one of the things that brought me to PokeMMO was the existence of the World Cup and PSL type events. I think that community organized tournaments is a great idea and the best way to keep a community alive and kicking aside from the "Official" tournaments organized by staff and automated tournaments. I've talked about this issue of coordination between hosts with many of you here and it was one of my main concerns before even launching the World Cup. I think there should be a calendar with 2 main events "set in stone" PSL and WC, have them every year around the same time, same format type (always some space for innovation but type of tournament format not talking about tiers or anything) so that people can prepare ahead, plan ahead. For example....last year when I started playing my whole goal was...play in the World Cup next year, for 1 year I grinded and was fully focused on getting ready to play the WC this year...After a year of training...where is the WC? I started asking around...when is the WC coming? Who is hosting the WC? No one was talking about it...WC is a meme tournament...no one cares about the WC...then I saw gasai's post about it... WC vs PSL Teams ... and that is when I decided to start digging around talking to people and when I decided to host the WC after talking to previous WC hosts and with gasai and then RDL... So before even announcing the WC I checked that K9 event would be finished before that, I thought that Quinn's event would as well even though I should have made sure and talked to him before hand and already apologized to him for it, clearly my bad but again this would be avoided if there was a calendar I could consult or if there was a discord/forum of some sort where I could debate it with the other hosts or some sort of host council team like it was mentioned previously. Then came the VGC season 0 but since it's a smaller event and there is a space bettwen WC sign ups and WC start it won't really interfere except perhaps in terms of donation gathering. Multiple tournaments always means less donations available to go around. Now with this whole TCL (weird new name variance...again a deviation from what already exists) coming in at the same time of the WC it just seems a bit disorganized and clearly not working towards the best interests of the community but it is what it is...for now...but like Orange said...it clearly puts the issue of tournament coordination in the spot light. Also important, and in order to bring more professionalism and credibility to the tournaments, we should have a set of rules that could be "set in stone" for the tournament hosts to work with...host participation for example is a hot topic! Can the hosts participate in their own events? This was also one of the points I heard from other people I talked to and something I discussed with RDL as can be seen below. As the current host of the World Cup I'm looking to set things up for the next world cup host and i'm relying heavily on the previous WC hosts having them all in as my council. I'm very grateful for all their feedback and experience and would never even think of doing this without their support. We should be able to create a template for new tournaments hosts to base their templates on...it will make life easier for the hosts and also for the community. This suggestion from Quinn is also something I believe would be a benefit of having a centralized host council or whatever we want to call it. If people don't respect the hosts because they don't care about the tournament they can just troll it for the shits and giggles while creating a bad environment for the ones that really want to enjoy the event. For the WC i've created a WC Master file with all of the information from previous WC's for organization purposes and I'll pass that along to the next World Cup host to help him along. Again, this could be done for major tournaments and have the smaller/new type tournaments be worked around them in the calendar. This way we give the community both stable well established tournaments and fresher new types/format tournaments a chance to pop up.
  9. Pledging 1 Million per week until the end of the World Cup! Here is hoping for the best and most exciting World Cup ever!! 😉 GET HYPED!!!
  10. Easy... nothing I said was a lie... 100% agree with you....when I looked at hosting the World Cup I didn't talk to you or K9, but the people I talked to with we talked about both your and K9's event. Your event launched at the end of May and I was told that both your and K9's event would be over around August and I still gave it another 2 weeks. It is also one of the reasons for the launch of the WC in September 11. If you did this I appreciate it and apologize if it was an incovenience in anyway, something to improve in future event coordination.
  11. Even VGC Season 0 that you announced the following day is supposed to end before the start of the WC so I think we should be fine. /fingers crossed PS: Cool event I wish I could participate, definetely interesting and if it goes well i'll want to participate next season 🙂
  12. I checked what was going on before I announced the kick off of the World Cup, there was only K9's limited Gym event and Quinn's event which will both supposedly be over before the start of the WC. So there was a clear opening and it is the "regular" time of the World Cup. This is an issue I'll be looking to address after I'm done hosting the WC. To look to avoid situations like this in the future. But in the end I don't think it's a big issue as of now.
  13. 6 Members.. 1 OU TC 1 UU TC 1 NU TC 3 general ones for advising/debating with the main Tier TC members. Tier TC member has final say unless 3 general ones agree and overule the main Tier TC Just a thought... @Munya Or you can always try to recruit more TC members ? /global chat LF TC Members ?
  14. This is definitely one of the root causes of the dissatisfaction of some competitive players, I've talked with some and I've read here in the forums people mention showdown...showdown you setup your mons as you want with the items that you want in a flash, here you have to take the time and money to capture/buy the mons (and now the alpha mon for HA), breed it, ev train it, lvl it and buy the item. This is an MMORPG it's not a simulator, many players may want to actively PvP but don't have the resources to do so yet or maybe they are limited in their comp pool. Another big point is what @gbweadsaid about the amount of games available for TC to analyse. Again we go back to showdown, lots of data...we come back to pokemmo not so much and like GB said..it varies from tier to tier quite a bit. Our TC has to find ways the best they can to address this issue. We can't have one solution/one method for all the tiers. Munya recently said that they are going to increase the response time to tier changes let's hope that is enough but it worries me that again they are trying 1 method fits all. Wouldn't it be best to assign TC member tiers? This way they would be more focused on a specific tier, better informed (hopefully) and able to react faster? PS: TC transparency is crucial!
  15. forgive my ignorance, what was the "PSL" that occured during march this year?
  16. I think this varies quite a bit, I know for a fact that the Portuguese community is spread out across multiple teams and the World Cup is actually a great opportunity for us to come together, play together and enjoy some "national time". In a separate example from what I've heard from multiple chinese players they can't wait for the World Cup and we know there are a lot of chinese players but we just don't have easy access to their "voices" per say. It's always great to see multiple points of views and ways to enjoy this great game and I go back to what I've said before about a coordinated effort to organize events yearly to better suit the needs of the varied community that we have...I think we can cater to most by "splitting" up the calendar into seasons and thus making time for most types of tournaments/events. Something to discuss perhaps? Regarding the PSL Teams name I'm 100% with you there @OrangeManiacI followed the last PSL and seeing as how it was the first PSL tournament I was following the thing I took out of it was that it was an auction/draft of players by selected managers which was great to see. This PSL Teams doesn't seem to relate...
  17. I've been discussing the sign up situation for the World Cup with multiple people and I think it is something that can be handled better in the future following some fine tuning in the sign up guidelines. This was being discussed a couple of days ago and I agree that given the amount of diverse interest across multiple formats of tiers/tournament styles/regions etc perhaps one idea would be to form a Tournament Council (let's call it TC!! hehe) or something of the sort to coordinate tournament hosting and scheduling. Define some yearly staples...(let's say for example and argument sake) World Cup and PSL are yearly staples...define when these should be held...so these would be the "BIG" tournaments of the year, the rest of the year would be left open for upcoming tournament formats/styles,new organizers etc to try their hand. This way it would be easy for the community to both follow and prepare for upcoming tournaments because they would know when and what to expect.
  18. Valid question, should a pokemon be judged by the full value of it's strength? Your examples of Torkoal, Dugtrio, Serperior and Feraligatr are excelent. Same could be said about Empolion. At the moment Empolion is considered (by some) too strong for UU but if his move Roost was banned from usage in UU then the pokemon would be fine in UU. However if not then he will eventually move up to OU where he will (supposedly) be outclassed. So should we judge pokemons based on their full available strength until they get so far outclassed or just ban one ability or move that makes then too strong for a specific tier? Thus allowing the pokemons to be used in both tiers. For example: Dugtrio: Ban Arena Trap from UU and NU. Allow it in OU. Empoleon: Ban Roost from UU. Allow it in OU. Be interesting to hear some TC's thoughts on this.
