xSparkie got a reaction from Luke in Matchmaking Reward MonsAn IV booster item would be nice to make the gift mons actually worth using, or trading X amount of these matchmaking/gift mons to get Prismatic Pearls would be super helpful.

xSparkie reacted to Bilburt in Matchmaking Reward MonsThat is, without a shadow of a doubt, an exceptionally brilliant, remarkably insightful, impressively creative, and overwhelmingly intelligent conceptualization—an outstanding example of innovative thinking, a shining beacon of imaginative brilliance, a testament to cognitive excellence, and a notion so full of promise, potential, and practical application that it stands as a paragon of inspired ideation, worthy of admiration, celebration, and, frankly, immediate implementation.
thumbs up!

xSparkie reacted to gbwead in Matchmaking Reward MonsAs much as Matchmaking Reward Mons may be important for new players, they have no utility for old players and only pollute our mailbox. If I could sell these mons for 5k each to an NPC, I honnestly would. If there was a box to check on the matchmaking interface that would allow me to disable the mons as rewards, I would also check that box.
The players that use the ladder the most have no use for these mons and on top of that will also struggle to get rid of them. I'm okay with playing ladder and get nothing in return, but playing ladder just to get my mailbox fill with these 25 iv mons is just annoying. Please do something about these matchmaking rewards mons. Whether it's selling them to an npc for a residual value or just allowing us to skip them as a reward, anything is better than the current situation.
Edit: Ideally, I would love if we could get an IV booster item for Gift mons that could be found in PvP Mystery Boxes, but I'm trying to be realistic and I don't think this will happen.

xSparkie reacted to Shadow in End of the line. This post is to say farewell shortly (after the PSL ends) to the PokeMMO Community, but it's main purpose is to serve as a tribute for all of the players, and communities who caused a good impact during my game career here. Before heading off to mention all (or most) of them, while I've been thinking about doing this post a while ago, I'm pretty much improvising it. It's been ~8 long years, of which I've been active around 4 of them, ceasing the activity in the game, almost completely around a year ago.
As it follows:
- I have to mention a group of people with who I shared great moments over the years, some from a while ago, some I met more recently. KaynineXL, Seth, Revz, BrokenBulb, Eliissaa, Terresa, Xi, Biqueta, Forfiter, TVanne, NguyenDuy, DeusBruno, makapakaa (who I met in-real life, what an experience haha), MPDH, Tear; probably without meeting you my trip on this game wouldn't have been as enjoyable as it was. You're just great fellas to be with, I've really enjoyed the time we spent together, and I hope we can keep being in touch at some times, my most sincere appreciation to you!
As I can't include everyone here cause the list would be endless, I'll also mention regarding communities/teams who also were a great pleasure to meet and interact with:
- SIÂ Team:
- PSL XV Team:
- PT/BR Community:
- ES/LatAm Community:
- PL Community
- CN Community
- Läva Team
- VOW Team
- ÁvE Team (DE Community)
- PvP Community
- Some members which don't fit any of this "categories"
Last but not least, to all of those people who were kind, when I interacted with you, or when you interacted with me, specially while I was staff, to either help, participate in events, or whoever assistance you needed, thanks a lot, too! It's hard to name people here as there were thousands probably, over the years.
It was a cool experience, but as the only link I have with the game goes through the social part of the community and I haven't enjoyed the game for a long while, it's time to move on.
Until we meet around! o/

xSparkie reacted to VadimEmpoleon in [Doubles Discussion] Covert MantleI don't know why keeping the flashing effect is even considered, we already had lots of bad changes due to following the last gen mechanics and now we will stop following those mechanics in this case where it's absolutely not needed and can hurt the effectiveness of the item in other tiers?, the item can be simply banned from Doubles if needed, hypocrisy at its peak.
How can we discuss keeping a change like the flashing effect that affects other tiers without talking about how it affects other tiers? This is very inconsiderate to all the Singles players, if anything, what should change is this discussion to a Covert Mantle discussion overall and not just Doubles. If the option to just nerf the item in Doubles exists then it could make some sense but this possibility was never stated, actually, what was stated is the desire to keep item's mechanics consistent in every tier and PvE. The possibilities on how this can end should be stated unless you want another problem like when Gallade was nerfed.
And from a competitive view, making the item flash is a non sense. Like stated multiple times, other items like Choice Scarf don't flash, not knowing if a mon is holding a Choice Scarf can make you lose a mon unexpectedly and cause the same devastating effect, if not more. Same happens with gems, same happens with berries, same happens with more items. It just adds another thing you have to worry about in a match, just like any other item. You can try to guess if the opponent is holding a Covert Mantle or not depending on their plays, just like with any other item. Let's not pretend you couldn't get a very good position in a duel because the opponent guessed wrong your item already before Covert Mantle.
If the item is actually considered problematic and banworthy in the tier in its hidden state then I think the ban could be reasonable, it all depends on preference from my point of view but keeping this flashing effect is a no.
Saying the item is irrelevant in Singles is untrue, I can see some situations where this item can be useful but I won't bother discussing about Singles because apparently it's considered derailing.

xSparkie got a reaction from Huargensy in [Doubles Discussion] Covert MantlePretty much reiterating what was said in the OU discussion thread but there's no reason to add a flash mechanic to this item. It's easy to counter-argue and say "well now that we know Player A has this item, we can just focus on making other plays". That's counter-intuitive. We have options to scout for items or annoy the foe's mons with Frisk or Trick. This is the first time that I'm hearing about Fake Out being an issue but haven't heard about it being a problem prior to February. I understand the item can be annoying to deal with when realizing they're not getting impacted by secondary effects, but that's part of the game and choices/factors you have to consider when playing. As mentioned before, it's all about fishing for information during the match. This goes for pretty much other moves and items as well. If heavy duty boots ever becomes a thing, do we need to start flashing that item too? If there's no need to put down rocks, then why click it when we can save ourselves an extra turn knowing that mon is going to be healthy anyways? Lame example I know, but that's how this discussion sounds right now. Either ban the item if it's broken or keep it as its intended design.
Side Note: King's Rock / Quick Claw doesn't need to be flashed as well. People complained about King's Rock before because of the multi-strike hits having a chance to flinch with it, but it got nerfed prior-to or on top of the flashing mechanic. The reason why no one complains about these is because it's not that viable due to the nerf and low chance of actually being able to use these effects/items.

xSparkie reacted to OrangeManiac in OU Tier Discussion Request ThreadThat's fair. I just wanted to make this all clear that I personally never wanted hidden Cloak to exist to begin with. I wasn't exactly thrilled of the accusations like I made this request on a whim but rather I wanted it to be known this is what I've been saying for 1,5 years. But I do think this is one of those calls where the community's opinion as a whole should absolutely matter over whatever I think or feel personally. That's why I said
Lastly - we need to remember we're all living in our own bubbles especially what becomes to Doubles. In my personal bubble, people did feel that Covert Cloak being hidden is harmful. Because this represented pretty much the whole Doubles community to me at this point, I got the idea that people just don't like hidden Cloak but I will happily accept if there in fact is more people who enjoy it over hating it.
This is pretty much the first big Doubles related discussion since the Sleep Clause. I do think we should open a discussion where everyone can weigh in and if it seems like by and large people enjoy hidden Cloak then that's completely fine as far as I'm concerned. I think I can be and should be open about the fact what comes to Tier Council and any Doubles related discussion, it's just about on the hands of 1-2 people and I do not think any decision like this should go on the hands of 1-2 people regardless what I feel about the matter.

xSparkie got a reaction from PoseidonWrath in OU Tier Discussion Request ThreadI haven't really used the item that much but I liked the element of surprise it provided, just like figuring out whether a mon is banded, scarf, or AV (Gallade in doubles for example). Or when someone brings a TR team but you're not sure if one of their mons is carrying Mental Herb or not while it hasn't been chipped yet. It's not like Fake Out was only viable turn 1. It's all about figuring out what info you can get during the match. I don't really see why it got nerfed just because people can't prevent Tailwind or TR getting set up right away, or not being able to flinch something in our beloved hax-format.

Abundant Shrine:
Spoiler
The Abundant Shrine is a cooperative mission for 2-4 players. Work together to defeat as many enemies as you can and earn rewards, including Red Envelopes and Lucky Red Envelopes
You can participate in the Abundant Shrine by speaking to the NPC located in Celadon City (Kanto), Slateport City (Hoenn), Hearthome City (Sinnoh), or Nacrene City (Unova).
In-Depth:
Spoiler
Here's a detailed guide to the Abundant Shrine. Keep in mind that this guide is still a work in progress. If you have any information we’re missing, feel free to share it with us!
Starting Wave: The leader selects the starting wave. It’s recommended to begin with the hardest waves, such as Dragon or Rabbit, for optimal strategy.
Items: Don’t forget to collect the items inside the house where you spawn.
Claiming Pokémon: You can claim Pokémon at the shrine located next to the NPC at the top of the Abundant Shrine.
Scoreboard Access: Interact with the NPC next to the shrine to view the scoreboard.
Leaving the Instance: To exit the instance, interact with the orange plot.
Teleportation: The leader can use the teleport gem from their inventory to teleport the entire team out of the instance, placing everyone in front of the shrine where Pokémon are claimed. Ensure no one is in battle when using this feature.
Claimable Pokémon: Only defeated Pokémon can be claimed. These are indicated by the bubbles above their heads.
Wave Difficulty:
Wave 1/12: 2 foes per fight.
Wave 12/26: 3 foes per fight.
Scoring: Your score determines the rewards you earn. Collecting more items and Pokémon will increase your score, leading to better rewards.
Evolution Charm: A rare item used to evolve claimable Pokémon from the shrine. Use it carefully, as it's a highly valuable resource.
Strength Charm: A rare item used to EV train claimable Pokémon from the shrine. Use it carefully, as it's a valuable resource.
Healing with Mending Prayer: Use the move Mending Prayer (available on Steelix) to heal your Pokémon and your teammates' Pokémon. Communicate with your team to coordinate healing.
You can also claim Pokémon with Mending Prayer, but be cautious as these Pokémon are crucial to the team and cannot heal if they are K.O.
Healing with Healing Wind: Use Healing Wind to heal everyone’s status conditions. Ensure your teammates are nearby when using this move.
You can also claim Pokémon with Healing Wind, but be cautious as these Pokémon are valuable for the team and cannot heal if they are K.O.
Ressource: If you're not comfortable with effective/weakness types you can check this guide and use this mod
