SnowMoon reacted to Bearminator in Staff Recruitment is open againI've got questions in PMs about the process, how to apply, and some general info, so I will make a post for all interested players to see.
Application
It's pretty easy- tell us a bit about yourself and why you would want to apply. You don't have to worry too much about grammar. While using programs to check your grammar is fine, writing your application in AI isn't- we will see immediately.
Don't include your IRL name, address, or picture—while your application can be seen only by SGMs, those don't help your chances, and there's no need to doxx yourself.
Please write it in English. Our primary communication happens in English. You don't have to be a master of it, but you have to show us you can talk in it and understand our communication. You are not only joining a project to help players, but you are also joining a team of friends who spend a lot of time together.
Requirements
You have to have access to a PC. Being a staff member on mobile doesn't work for many reasons. For example, our staff members must attend events as hosts and refs, which is impossible on a mobile.
Also, because of this, if you play for an hour every 2- 3 days, it's not the time to join the staff.
Tips
If you don't know how to improve your chances of joining the team, be helpful on the public chat! This is one of the main tasks of Community Managers. If you plan to join the staff team, start by helping the players—it shows you know what you're getting into and allows us to get to know you!
_____________________________________________________
We are going through the applications, and new ones come in daily- we will answer all of them. We salute everyone who tries to join out of passion for the game or to help. Big thank you to all interested players.

StringsForWorld is a mod/String designed to enhance the gaming experience. Its main goal is to reduce the amount of visible text for players, optimizing Speed in some parts of the content. Additionally, it includes adjustments in location names and extra elements to make the game experience much more comfortable. Some locations come in both English and Spanish, making Farming a bit easier and also helping Spanish-speaking players.

Hello,
Considering the history of our game, it seems reasonable to expect a 15th anniversary celebration in 2027 and the release of the Kalos region in 2026. We had a big 10th anniversary but missed the 11th and 12th, so a milestone like 15 years should be properly acknowledged. Additionally, with Johto arriving in 2022, a new region in 2026 would follow a four-year pattern (I hope it is Kalos, which may bring fairy types). I fully support this timeline and also hope that 2025 brings improvements to the Christmas event—especially the return of the Elfbot activity dungeon, where we can enjoy battle using our own (shiny) Pokemon once again.
All the best with PokeMMO schedule!
With love,
MightyMichele

SnowMoon reacted to santinardo in Complaint About PvP Ranked RewardsDear PokeMMO Team,
My name is MataGod
I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the rewards for ranked PvP. For many seasons now, the cosmetic rewards have remained almost the same, with little to no variation or new additions, and they are still untradeable. This significantly reduces the interest and motivation of players who seek more than just competition.
The same issue applies to the reward Pokémon. Not only are they constantly repeated, but they are also untradeable, which limits their usefulness in the game and makes them nearly worthless for those who don’t need them. The inability to trade or find alternative uses for them negatively impacts the motivation to keep playing ranked.
At this point, I have around six Lucario hats, six snake hats, and many other duplicate items that I cannot do anything with. Many players expected that, over time, the rewards would become more diverse, appealing, and useful within the game’s economy. Adding more cosmetic options, making them tradeable, or introducing new reward mechanics would help revitalize interest in competitive PvP.
I hope you take these suggestions into consideration and work on improving the reward system in the future.
Sincerely,
[MataGod]

SnowMoon reacted to beefpoptart in Please don't make us wait until Halloween for more hidden abilities, legendaries, & unbanning movesThere used to be some merit to the idea of not allowing certain legendries and hidden abilities, but at this point there is little reason for their ban. Currently we lack hidden ability Alakazam, a core piece in the gen 5 metagame, that was never overpowered. Additionally, this game has relevant counters already such as tyranitar, heatran, and gastrodon. As for legendaries Keldeo, and Celebi both already have pre existing counters and were never overpowered in gen 5 OU. The Sinnoh lake trio is also mediocre to bad and have generally always served as decent suicide leads. As for the regis, the main three are all mediocre to completely unviable, with regigigas only needing a compelx ban in doubles(no regigigas+reactive gas), but would still be a niche gimmick pick in OU to counter Weezing stall teams. Similarly can be said of Cresselia. Victini would also be solid option in the meta, that would have relevant counters such as heatran. While latios and latias remain the most potentially problematic legendries, removing soul dew makes them slightly worse than Hydreigon in PVE, and a top tier reasonable balanced PVP choice. Additionally, not allowing Latios and Latias to use aura sphere in PVP would also be a good idea to help balance them.
As for swords dance Garchomp, this game having base 90 outrage prevents him from ever being overpowered. This would also be useful in reducing stall teams complete dominance in the metagame. This is an issue because as someone that consistently has elo above 650, I have found that to progress beyond this point I have to either completely focus my team over stopping stall, or use stall myself. Regarding draco meteor Hydreigon, becaTuse we have numerous special walls capable of checking or countering Hydriegon this should no longer be an issue.
TLDR: It would be great if everyone doesn't have to wait until October to receive any "new" content(that came out 10-20 years ago). Free: Hidden ability Alakazam, Keldeo, Celebi, Regis, Latis, Victini, Cresselia, swords dance Garchomp, and Draco Meteor Hydreigon. This would help shift the metagame from being completely centralized around stopping stall, or playing stall.
End the stall madness:

SnowMoon reacted to Chele in Should alt accounts be nerfed?Hello there guys,
@Rache@Kyu
I thought in Account Level System to improve the fairness in the game, which progressively unlocks gameplay features based on player activity. This ensures that only dedicated players gain access to high-value content, reducing abuse while maintaining fair progression.
---> Account Levels and Privileges:
- Bronze (New Accounts)
- Can battle NPC trainers for experience and PokéYen.
- Can participate in casual PvP battles.
- Cannot encounter shiny Pokémon.
- Limited access to event rewards.
- Cannot use the Global Trade Link (GTL) for selling high-value items or Pokémon.
- Silver (Established Players)
- Gains full access to event participation and rewards.
- Can use the GTL with some restrictions (e.g., limited listings per day).
- Can start participating in official PvP tournaments.
- Can grind for certain rare items but at a capped rate.
- Still cannot encounter shiny Pokémon to prevent alt abuse.
- Gold (Verified Main Accounts)
- Gains the ability to encounter shiny Pokémon.
- Fully unlocks GTL privileges (can freely list Pokémon/items).
- Increased grind rates for items and money.
- Unlocked participation in leaderboard-ranked PvP.
- Can fully access dungeon rewards and legendary Pokémon content.
- Platinum (Veteran and Trusted Players)
- Gains maximum grind rates for all resources.
- Full participation in elite events and endgame content.
- Can access special perks (e.g., priority matchmaking for PvP).
- Additional trading benefits, like reduced tax rates on GTL.
Where things get interesting:
---> Learn to Progress Between Levels:
To move up in rank, players must demonstrate engagement and legitimacy by:
- Completing a set number of PvP matches (both ranked and casual).
- Participating in official events (not just logging in).
- Reaching a reasonable playtime threshold without suspicious activity.
- Earning achievements that prove active involvement in the community.
---> Why This Works?
This system ensures that only active, legitimate players gain access to high-value gameplay elements. It discourages alternate account abuse while still allowing new players to enjoy the game at a steady pace. By implementing these restrictions, PokéMMO can preserve its economy, encourage fair play, and reward dedicated trainers.
Thank you for the attention.
💕,
MightyMichele

SnowMoon reacted to Shadow in About NIAN HOOD ShrineGbwead got the point many people would probably like to have. While the top25 are for people who can afford spending a large amount of hours without having to leave their pc/mobile for more than 15 minutes, most likely due to vacation or just any free day they may have, getting a sort of checkpoint each x objective would really enhance the grind itself and it would open a way for many players to actually be able to aim for a bigger grind, either for the Nian or for the envelopes themselves.
I don't know how hard would it be to implement something along those lines, so I can't say, but if you can keep track of the players' progress via a leaderboard with timestamps, maybe it's actually possible.
Regarding extending the event, it sounds like a selfish thought, as people already made the effort to reach there. Extending it won't change that matter at all.
-
SnowMoon reacted to gbwead in About NIAN HOOD ShrineAfter each boss, players should be asked if they want to save their run and leave or continue.
No one enjoys spending 12 hours straight into a run. People want to take breaks, sleep, work, eat, touch grass, idk but this is riddiculous. The most difficult part abiyt Abundant Shrine has nothing to do with event itself, but with players fighting their boredom and fatigue through pure mental resilience. What kind of game is that?
Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed Abundant Shrine over the years, but not being able to save your progress and continue later takes all the fun away from the event imo.

SnowMoon reacted to Raichuforyou in Should alt accounts be nerfed? This is certainly a rocking the boat discussion, so bear with me. I'm pretty prepared if the conversation just ends to "this would be too significant of a change to suddenly make in the game".
Alt accounting has been something that has been allowed since the very beginning of PokeMMO. If anyone remembers back in the early days prior to breeding, it was basically the only way to produce even more starter Pokemon as obtaining them through other means was impossible.
PokeMMO has naturally progressed to where much more features have been added, and I can't help but feel alt accounts have inherently devalued some resources that players obtain. I believe devs have been quoted prior that they regret making the game where you can very liberally use alt accounts, but we now live in the world that we live in.
To clarify, I have taken advantage of alt accounting before when it comes to berry farming, gym farming, Alpha hunting, and obtaining event rewards (having all of the Alpha Kanto starters is pretty sick not gonna lie). And even I think the benefits I've obtained from doing it seem cheap and devaluing to a person who simply focuses on their one character.
I don't know what the solution is here, but I don't think it's to completely sunset the creation of alt accounts or delete them or anything drastic like that. I've always thought something like a "per account instance" might be something interesting to propose - If you've already caught Alpha Ditto on one character, it simply does not appear on another shared account. If you've fought Cynthia on one character, then other characters will have to abide by the same 16 hour cooldown. Berry plots will appear as "occupied" or something like that.
I'm not sure what you guys would think on this. Crab react if I'm a big dumb idiot or do the more civilized thing and talk this out in the comments.

SnowMoon reacted to Lidzbar in I got banned for cheatingAt the beginning I want to add that I am from Polish and my English is not perfect, so please bear with me
I'm new to PokeMMO and I didn't read the terms and conditions and it's completely my fault, I know, but I downloaded a program that caught me magikarp on safari in order to make money on the server, now I know it wasn't legal and I would like to ask you to unblock my account and I swear I will never cheat in PokeMMO again, please give me a second chance so I can enjoy the game

Abundant Shrine:
Spoiler
The Abundant Shrine is a cooperative mission for 2-4 players. Work together to defeat as many enemies as you can and earn rewards, including Red Envelopes and Lucky Red Envelopes
You can participate in the Abundant Shrine by speaking to the NPC located in Celadon City (Kanto), Slateport City (Hoenn), Hearthome City (Sinnoh), or Nacrene City (Unova).
In-Depth:
Spoiler
Here's a detailed guide to the Abundant Shrine. Keep in mind that this guide is still a work in progress. If you have any information we’re missing, feel free to share it with us!
Starting Wave: The leader selects the starting wave. It’s recommended to begin with the hardest waves, such as Dragon or Rabbit, for optimal strategy.
Items: Don’t forget to collect the items inside the house where you spawn.
Claiming Pokémon: You can claim Pokémon at the shrine located next to the NPC at the top of the Abundant Shrine.
Scoreboard Access: Interact with the NPC next to the shrine to view the scoreboard.
Leaving the Instance: To exit the instance, interact with the orange plot.
Teleportation: The leader can use the teleport gem from their inventory to teleport the entire team out of the instance, placing everyone in front of the shrine where Pokémon are claimed. Ensure no one is in battle when using this feature.
Claimable Pokémon: Only defeated Pokémon can be claimed. These are indicated by the bubbles above their heads.
Wave Difficulty:
Wave 1/12: 2 foes per fight.
Wave 12/26: 3 foes per fight.
Scoring: Your score determines the rewards you earn. Collecting more items and Pokémon will increase your score, leading to better rewards.
Evolution Charm: A rare item used to evolve claimable Pokémon from the shrine. Use it carefully, as it's a highly valuable resource.
Strength Charm: A rare item used to EV train claimable Pokémon from the shrine. Use it carefully, as it's a valuable resource.
Healing with Mending Prayer: Use the move Mending Prayer (available on Steelix) to heal your Pokémon and your teammates' Pokémon. Communicate with your team to coordinate healing.
You can also claim Pokémon with Mending Prayer, but be cautious as these Pokémon are crucial to the team and cannot heal if they are K.O.
Healing with Healing Wind: Use Healing Wind to heal everyone’s status conditions. Ensure your teammates are nearby when using this move.
You can also claim Pokémon with Healing Wind, but be cautious as these Pokémon are valuable for the team and cannot heal if they are K.O.
Ressource: If you're not comfortable with effective/weakness types you can check this guide and use this mod
