The players who keep the game alive and spice up chat with “lucky noob, play without brain”—your salt fuels us.

The content creators and forum guide makers who share their wisdom for free, so us noobs can pretend we know what we’re doing.

The staff members patiently responding to our support tickets, swearing we definitely didn’t RMT.

This is the only up-to-date guide that will help you maximize your Pokédex to the fullest extent possible.

The process is split into 5 stages, approximately ranked by difficulty
    STAGE 1
    Wild Pokémon
This stage serves to grant you access to Mt. Silver.
you can skip this stage if you already have it unlocked.

To complete this stage you need to:
    Have all the regions unlocked.
    Catch/Evolve all the Wild Pokémon.
Revive and evolve all the Fossil Pokémon.
Find and catch all the Phenomenon exclusive Pokémon.

    Wild Pokémon
this step is basically; check Pokedex for wild locations, go there, catch then evolve.
Make sure to bring a catching pokemon like Smeargle/Breloom/Parasect and enough pokeballs.

If you cant check wild locations because you havent seen the mon yet I recommend using:
    https://pokemmohub.com/tools/pokedex/

    Baby Pokémon
These mons can be found in the Wild using Lures.
But you could also breed their parents down with their correspoding incense to save a lot of time and Lures.

All incenses can be bought at every daycare.

(budew can be found without lures)

    Fossil Pokémon
You can revive every fossil at any regions laboratory.
You can either buy the fossil you're missing or find it with rock smash + thief

    Phenomenon exclusive Pokémon
These are special tile encounters exclusive to the Unova region.
They are going to take the longest, so try keeping an eye out early on.
I recommend being in a discord server that has active callouts.

    Rustling Grass:
    Dust cloud:
    Rippling Water:
    Shadow:

Once you completed this stage your Pokédex "Caught OT" count should be 602 at minimum.

    STAGE 2
    See-able Legends & Mythicals
This stage serves to complete your Pokedex's "seen" count to the fullest extent possible.
All other see-able Legends/Mythicals that were not listed here will be registered by simply completing the Storylines.

    Cresselia
After beating the Storyline and completing Sinnoh's national dex, you can trigger a side mission in Canalave City, by entering the House on the bottom left.
the son of Sailor Eldritch, who runs the ferry to Iron Island from Canalave City, falls into a sleep from which he cannot be awoken and is plagued by nightmares. To cure his son, the sailor begs the player to take the ferry to Fullmoon Island to get a Lunar Feather.

There, you can interact with Cresselia once to have it registered as seen.

    Latias & Latios

Re-Battling Unovas Pokemon League Champion Alder, he can bring out both Latias and Latios.
Its also possible to have an opponent in Battle Tower (Hoenn) use Latias or Latios.

    Mew

Re-battle Morimoto in Unova (castelia city) everyday until he brings out his Mew.

    Manaphy
Enter the Pokemon Mansion in Sinnoh route 212, go into the room to your right and read the book on the table.

    Regirock, Regice & Registeel

Can all be seen by Re-battling Sinnoh's Snowpoint City Gym-Leader Candice until she brings them out.

All of them also can be seen by Re-battling the Hoenn Pokemon League (Drake, Phoebe or Wallace)

After completing all of the above (and catching all obtainable Legendaries/Mythicals) your Pokedex's "Seen" count should be 630. And with that your Seen-Dex is fully complete as of now.

    STAGE 3
    Obtainable Legends & Mythicals
This stage serves to get your Pokedex's "Caught OT" count to the highest possible number.

    Roaming Legends
this will take a minimum of 3 months to complete due to them rotating each month.
if you have them registered as seen you can see which one is currently roaming by checking their wild locations.
    otherwise I recommend using https://pokemmo.help/calendar

These are encounterable anywhere in their regions "outdoors" area like on grass and water
with the exception of Raikou and Entei, those are on Grass only.

    Important things to note:
    - You must do single encounters
    - chance to encounter is between 1/1001 - 1/7999.
    - if you fail to catch your monthly encounter, the odds change to 1/500 until the end of the month.
    - They will always be lvl. 50 when you encounter them.
    - Repel-trick is NOT possible.

    KoTH Legends & Myths
Every region has only 1 King of The Hill style Pokémon
meaning that once a player finds it, other players can fight to take it off them. When the Legendary grows bored of its current owner it will return back to the wild and the cycle can repeat.

So to Register every regions KoTH, you can either fight for it once its been found, or find it yourself.
Incase you want to find it yourself I have noted the possible shinies you could get along the way.

    Important things to note:
    - You must do single encounters.
    - chance to encounter is between 1/1001 - 1/7999.
    - catch rate is always close to 100% with any ball.

    Repel-Trick Info:
    - Illuminate / Swarm / No Guard / Arena trap lead is recommended.
    - You can expect to use around 900-1300 Max repels for each one on average.
    - your repel trick lead can be lvl. 100 as the KoTH legend is lvl. 100 aswell.

    Raid-Exclusive Legends
To capture these Legendaries, you need to defeat them in a Raid-Battle.

    Heatran

    Information:
    - Available after completing Stage 1 (Mt. Silver)
    - Matchmaking not possible, need to queue with a link of 4
    - You need to use atleast 4 OT Pokemons.
    - After a 3 Month cooldown you can battle and capture it again.
    - After a 1 Week cooldown you can re-battle it to earn Magma Stones.

    Event-Exclusive Mythicals
These Mythicals are obtainable after beating every Raid-Boss of their specific Event.
if you just missed event season, you'll have to wait a long time to complete this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Halloween
     Darkrai

    Christmas
     Jirachi

    Lunar New Year
     Shaymin

After catching all of the above your Pokédex's "Caught OT" count should be 617.

    STAGE 4
    All Forms
Certain Pokémon can have multiple forms, this Stage will show you how to register them.

    Variant Forms
Gendered variants are not viewable in the Pokedex so we'll disregard them.

    Basculin

    Blue Striped Basculin is Pheno-Exclusive
(or lure on Route 1 water)

    Shellos/Gastrodon

    West/East side specific

    Changeable Forms
you have to use your OT here, otherwise when you sort the dex by pvp tiers, the different forms will show up with blue borders

    Rotom
Change in Rotom's Room, secret location in Sinnoh, Eterna City

    Castform
Lead with weather setters in a fight then switch to your castform.

    Burmy/Wormadam
Engage in any battle with the Burmy as lead in different environments:
Plant Cloak in Grassy or Watery Area
Sand Cloak in Rocky or Sandy Area
Trash Cloak Inside building (Gyms etc)

Note: after you evolve Burmy into Wormadam, it will keep the cloak it evolved with.
You will have to evolve an OT Burmy with each cloak for every Wormadam form.

    Cherrim
Lead with sun-setter then switch to cherrim.

    Darmanitan
Engage in battle with your Hidden ability Darmanitan and make it lose half its HP.

    Shaymin
Use 1000 Gracideas to first unlock its alternative form, then use 25 Gracideas for each form change.

    Seasonal Forms
    This is exclusive to Deerling/Sawsbuck.

You can encounter their Seasonal forms depending on what the season is in Unova, which rotate every real life month.
    Jan - Spring
    Feb - Summer
    Mar - Autumn
    Apr - Winter
    May - Spring
    Jun - Summer
    Jul - Autumn
    Aug - Winter
    Sep - Spring
    Oct - Summer
    Nov - Autumn
    Dec - Winter

    Note:
if you just buy all remaining seasonal forms but you don't have the Spring form Caught OT, the evolution tree will still show as blue
in that case you will just have to wait until spring.

(You dont need to do this for Alpha Deerling/Sawsbuck.)

    Forms of Unown
Here's the fastest way to catch all Unowns:
Go to Solaceon town in Sinnoh and enter Solaceon Ruins from there.

All 28 Unowns can be found in there, some having specific floors.
Here is a Spreadsheet on where each one is:

The Unowns F-R-I-E-N-D are guaranteed encounters but all the others in the alphabet each have a 5% Encounter rate in a random chamber.

After catching the whole alphabet you go to "Maniac Tunnel" in route 214 for the remaining two variants. ? / !
The maniac digs the tunnel as you register more Unowns, in the end it leads to the last chamber.

    Forms of Arceus
Due to Arceus being a King Of The Hill style Legendary Pokémon, you are not able change its Held item as it is a temporary mon.
This isn't a problem for all the other KOTH Legends but in order to Change Arceus form, it needs to hold the different Plates.

So in order to complete this, you would actually need to get a hold of it every time it spawns with a different plate or catch it yourself for every different plate.
As you can tell this is going to be a lot of effort for no reason, but I'm pretty sure the PokeMMO developers won't change anything about it so this will probably always be the only way to do this.

    Important things to note:
You can't switcheroo or trick swap items in battle to make Arceus hold a different plate.
    >Trick/Switcheroo only works if Arceus spawns with no plate (Normal-Type)
Wild encountered Arceus has an even chance to spawn with each plate or with no plate, so that's 1/17 for every form.

Good luck, this is probably the hardest part of this whole journey.
I may make a seperate guide for this specifically

After completing this stage you should be able to view every single form and variant of a Pokémon in your Pokédex.
(except for Giratina, but thats not possible yet)

    STAGE 5
    Alpha Pokémon
This stage serves to help you complete your Alpha Pokedex.
(OT doesn't matter for the Alpha Dex so you could theoretically buy everything from the GTL.)

    Daily Alphas
A random Alpha Swarm appears once every in-game day in a random region.
there is many guides and strategies on how to catch them you can find online.

But heres my prefered strategy to quickly catch them:
Check the gender of the Alpha.
Catch one of the "swarm minions" with the opposite gender of the alpha
    Have it in your party.
Battle Alpha again with skill swap lead.
Lower its hp & put it to sleep.
    switch to the minion.
    Throw Love Balls

This doesn't work with every Alpha, but it has the highest success rate to my knowledge.
For genderless or female only Alphas you may resort to using Timer Balls.

    Event-Exclusive Alphas
Here I have listed all Alphas that are not in the daily rotation, but only available during their specific event.

The Alpha Kanto starters are not coming back.
The cheapest way to register them is to find someone who has them and ask if you can touch them and send them back.

    Raid-Exclusive Alphas
This feature is not implemented yet.
but it was teased in xmas 2024 with alpha suicune and its been confirmed to come back as permanent raid in the future.

    Raikou (most likely)
    Suicune (confirmed)

    STAGE 4

    - They will always be lvl. 100

I hope the plans include celebi too, matter of fact, theres so many event-based Mythicals left it almost seems impossible to just "invent" new events for them, I wonder how yall will do it.

  11. Thanks
This is likely how we're going to release the remaining uber legendaries, including the ones that can be battled as bosses. We're not sure what we want to do with the KotH legendaries yet due to Keldeo being a candidate for permanence further down the line, but we'll figure something out.

I kind of believe Hoenns 10th Anniversary is gonna be "celebrated" trough this upcoming LNY update by bringing in Permanent Legendary Raids to the Hoenn Region. A second reason why I believe the next legendaries are coming to Hoenn is because so far all the Legendaries we see in Gym Re-Battles have been added except the Regi-Trio and Lati-Duo in E4 Reruns.

Jirachi would be considered an "Mythical" that is tied to an Event like christmas, the only legendary we've seen from Hoenn is Rayquaza but so far no permanent ones, I think its time to change that this year!

Hi all, I am qqqianx, the #1 in OU ladder in season 18, champion of west in season 13, also the OU MVP in PSL 16.

And I am writing this thread for question on the abnormal ban of my account.
It happened in yesterday morning, I wake up and login to the pokemmo as usual, however find I was PERPETUAL banned due to win trade. I was so confused with this announcement, as I have never engaged in any form of win trading for PVP within the game. I am passionate about PVP, especially in the OU game, and I approach every match and opponent with the utmost seriousness, but I have never let my game become a trade. This result make me feel upset and frustrated, for it is entirely untrue.

After some investigation, I assume I was reported by someone in team OA. Boynextdior from OA also fight for the #1 position of OU ladder, and some of them hate me so much due to I has higher elo. They slander I do the win trade with GopherBro, and upload the recording to the acfun, so they can help their friends boynextdior to win #1. Here is the link: https://www.acfun.cn/v/ac46710653.In fact this acfun account has been used not only for recording my game,we can see game recordings of OdinaryConfien(#1 of 13 season) and syxkl(he tried out for #1 of season 15),who are both be reported by someone from OA.

In fact, I have NEVER do the win trade with anyone! And this games are just the normal game play, I can explain all the details. From the recording, we can see the Poliwrath’s moveset are Lovely Kiss, Drain Punch, Waterfall and Belly Drum; although he has +6 attack after Belly Drum, the rain turns are over, and my Galiscor has higher speed than Poliwrath. With my Gliscor's moveset is Toxic, Protect, Substitute and eq, the amount of Protect and Substitute pp is 32. It is obvious that my Gliscor can pp stall his poliwrath, which has lower attack pp (NO PPMAX waterfall+Drain punch) than me. Btw, i still has 3 stall mons and 1 scarf Magnezone on the back, thus I think it is normal that opponent choose to surrender due to he cannot break my stall and will be revenge killed by my scarf Magnezone. In addition, if the opponent want to win-trade with me, he has no reason to use waterfall facing my Skarmory, he just need to use drain punch and my skarmory will revenge kill it or blow it away simply. So this whole game cannot hold as the support evidence of so-called wintrade. Last but not least, this recording did not record the HP of all the mons. If I remember right, my opponent's Pelipper and Rhyperior has pretty low HP; if the games go on, he is still hard to break my stall, and I has higher win rate. And from my point of view, i didn ' t want to see him surrender, because i knew someone probably is recording my game.
Moreover, I want to emphasize that I take every game seriously. I enjoy the PVP game so much, which you can see from my game record in season 18. I have plenty of time this autumn, and I have played for over 1500 games with 921.76 elo in this season. What's more, the second place is only 918 elo, which means I can get the gold crown easily, with no doubt. My win rate in season 18 is over 80%, I think this result can demonstrate that I am good at OU game, and I don’t need any help or ‘wintrade’ to get the #1 and the gold crown. In addition, I have gained OU MVP in PSL16, the champion of playoff in season 13.I think these achievement can all be the proof that I don’t even need win trade, and can already win the ladder or any game.

I REPEAT once , I NEVER do the win trade with anyone! I can’t believe this so called evidence can let the devs to give the win trade punishment to me. Please check all the evidence again pls, I'm pretty sure I didn't have any unusual behavior in any of my games. I even never speak or trade with anyone I met in PVP game, which you can see from my history. So pls recheck whatever record or evidence, if you need more information, you can replied to me, and I will give my explanation.
I know this report is from someone in team OA. They has some conflict with me, and they want to ban me, so they can help their friend boynextdior win the #1. Their report is from the hate and slander, but not reasonable and acceptable, I hope the admin and devs can give a fair judgment after more investigation.

Since not many people in my team play rank ,i can surely say that in December i met my teammates no more than
3 times .If GM can  look up the records for November or October, they can see that i lost to Skyaspera( OU#3 in Season 18 also my teammate) twice, and maybe a couple of times to other teammates(i remember xisocou).I've told most of my friends and teammates that when they meet me in rank, just play a normal game.I think even if i lost all the three games in December, it wouldn't make any difference to the final result. It's also important that i have never do trade with any  unfamiliar opponent who i just met in rank.I can' t guarantee that everyone of my 1500+games can end properly, everyone 's PVP level is different, and some players even surrender as soon as they see my Protect + Substitute Gliscor, but if trade and motivation don' t exist, i think it can' t logically be wintrade.

In fact , i have been the victim of vicious competition.I can' t image how much injustice i would have to face just because i get OU#1 all by my efforts, not only did i suffered being caught with cteam by some players of OA in the process of getting a higher elo, but i also be reported in retaliation after the end of the season.
I really love Pokemmo, and I hope it can get better and better. However, the fact is that the ranking ecosystem  has been disrupted by certain groups who are willing to do whatever it takes to win # 1. They are experienced and know how to perform fake matches while avoiding wintrade punishment. And their behavior is not limited to maliciously catch other player with cteam .
I sincerely hope that Devs can clearly define the rules for judging malicious competition, rather than a situation where all  rank# 1 members come from the same Team and anyone who does not belong to them has to pay a heavy price to compete for their top 1.

Coppernikus got a reaction from ViniSS in PokeMMO - Hoenn 10 years old
I kind of believe Hoenns 10th Anniversary is gonna be "celebrated" trough this upcoming LNY update by bringing in Permanent Legendary Raids to the Hoenn Region. A second reason why I believe the next legendaries are coming to Hoenn is because so far all the Legendaries we see in Gym Re-Battles have been added except the Regi-Trio and Lati-Duo in E4 Reruns.

Coppernikus reacted to lILucyIl in Shaymin in the flower paradise
Since they are now implementing legendaries that are obtained in x event, such as Jirachi on Origin Island or Darkrai on New Moon Island, it would be great if Shaymin gave us access to the floral paradise but including the entire area to access its raid, it would be great the truth.

Coppernikus got a reaction from Zuladra in The Future of Event-Exclusive Mythical Pokémon
2024 was the first year in PokeMMO history, where every in game Holiday-Event had a specific Mythical Pokémon bound to it.

    Lunar New Year = Shaymin
    Halloween = Darkrai
    Christmas = Jirachi

and because we've seen it with Shaymin, its safe for us to assume that these 3 Mythicals will be re-appearing every year during their specific event so new players have a chance to catch them too.

I personally really like this concept of introducing Mythicals into PokeMMO, because its similiar to how Mythicals were introduced into the Base Games. It really gives those mons their rare feeling.

There is just one problem we run into:
If all Holiday-Events already have their Mythical set, how are they going to introduce new Mythicals like Celebi or Mew in the future?

Both Celebi and Mew were Event Exclusive in the Base Games too, so it would make a lot of sense for them to be introduced this way into PokeMMO aswell.

But its obvious that they're not going to add 2 new anual events just for them. So the question is, how else will they do it?

Keldeo was confirmed to be in the conversation of being changed from KOTH to permanent in the future, so this can mean that they are thinking of new ways to introduce these Mythicals outside of events.

What do you think? Let me know.

it would be very cool if any of the PokeMMO developers maybe @Rache could shed some light on this if they are able to.

Coppernikus got a reaction from Zuladra in The Mystery of the Sableye Horde in Sky Pillar
Some fellow Shiny Sableye Enthusiasts might have noticed that the Pokedex indicates a Horde in Sky Pillar when checking Wild Locations for Sableye.

And if they went there to encounter this horde they might have also noticed that Sky Pillar has different encounters for each floor, and after testing all floors they might have realized that this Sableye Horde is not showing up.

This surely confused all Sableye shunters and most of them probably still are confused thinking that the Pokedex is just showing misinformation.

Turns out, its not actually misinformation, but probably a lot more complicated than just going there and sweet scenting.

a couple players (including me) recall encountering sableye hordes in sky pillar while single encountering there trying to find Rayquaza, so its very much likely that this a horde not summonable with sweet scent but only by single encountering on a specific floor maybe even at a specific time.

    When I tried single encountering in sky pillar again to reproduce finding this Horde, I couldn't seem to find it, hence why im making this forum post;

I would appreciate if any of you could help with solving this mystery.
