1. I do actually know this. That is not what I meant by stating that. I meant to ask him how it would be handled in PokeMMO. That's like saying that I dunno what Delta Pokemon are because I am asking by making this thread how they would be handled. But, sadly I never got a chance to play those games. So, I don't know what those games did with the Pokemon in terms of how to find them. I know that they are Pokemon that are Shadow types and cannot evolve or gain EXP without turning them back to normal, and the only shadow Pokemon that looks different is Lugia. That's about it. I'm sorry I do have ill knowledge about Shadow Pokemon. If you could kindly explain to me how they worked in Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness or Pokemon Colosseum, that would be great. But, I don't think that you will, which is fine too. :) I thought that too when I first read it, and you're probably right. But then I thought for a few seconds. He probably has a valid point. If Pokemon were to have an alternate type being released, it would be the Shadow Pokemon first. I know that the suggestion I stated would probably not be implimented. It is a very far-fetched idea especially for a game that hasn't even made it out of alpha. But, I thought the discussion would be fun and channel 1 kept bothering me to make the thread. Either way, if it's too bad of an idea, I do not mind it being thrown into the trash :) It's okay. Yeah, I read on the regions thread that they're too similar to fan pokemon that it couldn't work. Though, I wasn't suggesting making custom sprites. As I stated to guyverone, the reason as to why we use ROMs in the first place was to avoid the copyright issue. We don't even need to make new sprites, the Pokemon on the cards look exactly the same as if they were regular Pokemon, just the typing is different. And, I did state changing the typings a little to match with the Pokemon was because there won't be custom sprites. Keeping Sandslash a Ground type and adding either Steel or Fighting as the secondary type will still give you the idea of how to defeat it. It'll say it's a Delta to tell you it's a different type but the type is still similar to the original. I'm not sure what you mean by "would never be introduced in PvP". I did suggest limiting the use in PvP but I didn't say prevent it. I wasn't even thinking the real importance of having Delta Pokemon with their own PokeDex entry. It's still the same Pokemon. The only difference is they got radio wave'd. I thought that the value of Delta Pokemon, like they did in the TCG, was just that it's a different type and nothing more. Same with Shadow Pokemon, they still look the same, well except Lugia. Does it have to look different too to be special? :/ Hmm... I just dunno, maybe you are right. Again I still dunno what you mean by "won't be usable in PvP". Why wouldn't they be? You never explained that. I thought that just the symbol for Delta and it being a different type would be enought for someone to show it off but I dunno :3 I dunno, with implimenting Johto there's no point for PokeDex completionists either. I know it's not your point but we already have most Johto Pokemon already in the game. Most people want it to be in the game because it's nice. Similar reason as to why people want the Orange Archipelago even though it only has Kanto Pokemon. I know what you're gonna say, saying it is a nice idea doesn't excuse it from being impractical. That's why I created this thread to discuss how it should work. I'm not sure how they would be trouble in PvE either. I wasn't thinking the moveset should be unique to them, since the typings will try to be similar to the original. It would be neat but I didn't expect the idea. Can you please explain your thoughts?
2. こんばんは! お元気ですか? Seriously, I don't think anyone believes you can speak that many languages, but if you can, that's sugoi :) Hello CoolBoyJay, how are you? Welcome to the forums!
3. Hmm, Pokemon being Shadow type before Delta Pokemon might happen, maybe to test out releasing Pokemon of alternate types before doing that to more than just Shadow. You might be right, but how do you think Shadow types would be handled?
4. Ahh forgive me. I remember someone telling me it was a ROM hack before. Maybe I got it confused with something else, I remember reading somewhere about a generation 5 hack with Delta Pokemon but I forgot what it was called. Yeah Pokemon sprites are extremely easy to recolor, I remember when I was what, 8 or 9 when I first recolored sprites? lol Changing a Snorlax to green in MS Paint is easy. Recoloring and changing sprites would probably make it easier for players to be able to tell what type it is, and probably by doing that you wouldn't have to change the original Delta typings at all. The problem is, PokeMMO will not incorperate its own Pokemon sprites so it can avoid copyright, that's the reason as to why you have to use a ROM in the first place. So, recolors of Pokemon probably won't happen.
5. Yeah that's what I was thinking too. Kinda too early to discuss, especially since PokeMMO is in the alpha stage. I don't really expect it to be implimented soon, but it would be interesting to talk about imo
6. Ahh sorry, I probably should put a TL;DR at the top of the original post. Basically we're talking about if Delta Pokemon were implimented, which are Pokemon with an alternate type, into PokeMMO and how to make it work.
7. Just noticed you edited your post. Probably could work for an extra added area or event. Either it be a made-up area exclusive for PokeMMO or for areas that haven't had as much use, like Navel Rock or Birth Island. Maybe it could even be incorperated into the Game Corner somehow, idk :) Thank you for the link :) It seems that they recolored the Pokemon to match the type. Although it works for a ROM hack, since the sprites are borrowed from a person's individual ROMs that they own themselves, it wouldn't work. Besides, on the cards the Pokemon look exactly the same as they originally did anyways. It seems that the Delta Pokemon are like legendaries and only 1 of the Pokemon appear in a certain area am I correct? Maybe the Delta Pokemon could work similar to how Mewtwo does and be temporarily owned? I'm not sure.
8. Fire-type Gyarados is canon so maybe lol Thank you :) I really like grass-type Snorlax as well <3 Alright, the rarity for it is a pretty bad idea. :) Exclusive areas should probably be the thing for Delta Pokemon then. Though, I'm not sure what to do for it to be area-exclusive. I hope someone will help me with that idea, then I'll change my original post :) Thank you for your concern.
9. Well, tell me how to make it a better idea then. :) I realize it was rather weird of me to say Holon to be the main area. I'm not suggesting they create the region right now. I meant to say that as if they did, but I must've misworded it. They should only be found in specific areas is what I meant, and if Holon was implimented, it would be the main area to find it. I understand Holon would be one of the hardest regions to make, as there's not a lot of known info about the areas in the region, so it probably won't even happen at all. It's just an idea anyways :) I thought you might've been referring to the little bits of mentions that they had on the region threads and things like that. Sorry for misunderstanding. Yeah, it would be a lot of work. I was questioning the idea of that too. Holon's only got a few known areas, so you'd have to make a lot of it up. It would be pretty difficult.
10. That's not what I was referring to with your sarcasm. I was referring to "If Delta Pokemon were ever to be introduced (and this has not been discussed AT ALL)". Ahh forgive me about my error describing Delta Pokemon. I shall edit it :) Maybe having a region lock in the PC for Delta Pokemon and having them only in the Holon region then? Could that work?
11. Alright :) Thank you for your concern about it. I hope we may find in this thread a way to make it work in PokeMMO but if not, at least we are stating some fun ideas. I can't tell if sarcasm, but I have searched the forum and I don't see any thread that really specifically speaks about Delta Pokemon. Sorry if this is a duplication. Limited to their own area is a great idea as well :) Alright, maybe rare pokemon is a bad idea. I just wanted to post some ideas to get it out there. Maybe we can figure a way out to make Delta Pokemon work. EDIT: Sorry, I didn't notice I double-posted. I guess I should wait a few minutes before responding to people so I can get a bunch of comments replied to at a time :)
12. Yeah I was thinking about that too. Maybe it should have the same chance to be seen as a regular shiny?
13. Ahh alright, I forgot about that. Thank you, I shall edit the original post :)
14. Nyan, a lot of people on PokeMMO wanted me to start this thread, so here we are. :) Kinda a bit nervous to start a discussion about Delta Pokemon when PokeMMO is so early in development, but I guess it won’t get any further into development unless ideas are stated, so whatever happens lol I must give credit to Kiliminati for helping to come up with the ideas. I read a lot that Darkshade really is interested in Holon, and I know a lot of people who would be delighted to have the idea of catching their own Delta Pokemon inside PokeMMO happen, so here are my ideas as to how it can work without Delta Pokemon overriding the meta game. TL;DR: This is a thread to discuss the possibility of Delta Pokemon being implimented in PokeMMO and how to make it work. Delta Pokemon are Pokemon with an alternate typing. Please at least try to skim the original post before posting, I know it's kinda a long read please forgive me. What Are Delta Pokemon?: Delta Pokemon are special Pokemon only seen in the Pokemon Trading Card Game. They look just like the original Pokemon, but are mutants originating in the Holon region by radio waves, similar to the Red Gyarados. They were created when scientists were searching for Mew on Holon, but it changed the Pokemon surrounding the area to have a different typing. Basically, it's a Pokemon with a different type. How Delta Pokemon Will Appear in the Game: They may only be obtainable in certain areas of PokeMMO, mainly in the region of Holon since that’s where they were originally created at. They will not, however, be the only Pokemon that appear in Holon. Regular forms of the Pokemon will usually appear in the region, but on a rare chance, maybe slightly less rare than than seeing a wild shiny, you will encounter a Delta Pokemon to capture. I’m not sure if you would like to stack shiny and Delta together, but a shiny Delta will probably be rarer than a regular shiny by 20-50%. When you encounter a Delta Pokemon, next to their name will be the δ symbol and the symbol will stay next to this name even if it has a nickname to ensure in a PvP battle that it doesn’t have the Pokemon’s regular typing. When you look at the Pokemon Summary, the δ symbol will appear in the similar place the shiny star will be. I’m not sure what you would do if you would want an animation of something similar to the stars coming from a shiny when a Delta appears, maybe Δ’s instead? lol Here are some crudely edited screenshots I found on Google Images to give you an idea of what I mean:

How to Limit the Use of Delta Pokemon: Making Them Unbreedable: They are mutants, so therefore they cannot breed would be the explanation for it. Keeps them rare like shinies and it wouldn’t be a hassle to decide how to program typings of Pokemon when they do breed. 1 Delta Pokemon Allowed in Tournaments: It’s an idea I thought of when watching the National Pokemon X/Y Tournament that happened earlier in July. They were only allowed to have one Mega Pokemon per party. Why not do something similar to that for Delta Pokemon? That way, everyone doesn’t just use Delta Pokemon to get a high advantage. You can capture as many Delta Pokemon as you like, but they will be limited when facing against actual people. If there will be such things as Mega Delta Pokemon in the future, then that 1 Pokemon will count as both the Mega they use and the Delta. How Typings for Delta Pokemon Could Work: There will only be one alternate typing for each Pokemon. I believe that if there are more, it would be too confusing for players. I tried playing Pokemon with all the types completely randomized and it was waaay too hard. Typings should be edited to also make sense to the Pokemon. For example, a regular Sandslash would be a Ground type, but a Delta Sandslash is a Fighting/Steel type. The Delta doesn’t really make that much sense does it? Possibly editing the typing to either Ground/Fighting or Ground/Steel will help keep consistency and not keep people who are new guessing what to do to defeat the Delta Sandslash. I’ve spent my time to creating a list of Pokemon with regular typings and Delta typings. The last column has my ideas on how to edit the typings so it would make more sense to the game, but I will edit the list later so that way it has ideas that everyone agrees on. The question marks mean that I really don’t know what typing it should be, it doesn’t mean I want it to be a glitch type lol. I also wrote in parentheses the TCG name of the typing for reference. Semicolons mean it’s another Delta Pokemon that has a different type:
# Pokemon Original Type Delta Type(s) IMO Delta Type 004 Charmander Fire Electric(Lightning) Fire/Electric 005 Charmeleon Fire Electric(Lightning) Fire/Electric 006 Charizard Fire/Flying Electric/Steel(Metal); ???
