If the location has 2 hordes with 70/30% and the desired one is the 30% one then the average number of mons of that type that you would see in 6 hordes would be 6x5x0,3=9.

If the same location had those same hordes with 50/50 % but the hordes were of 3 then the number would be 6x3x0,5=9.

The desired mon would have the same rate in both situations.

Great post. You can't determine it like this because it does not work that way. You can encounter 10 hordes and not encounter 1 horde with the rarer species. See it this way... the more encounters you do the more likely you will eventually encounter a shiny. Now that being said... it works the same way with the encounters. The more onix hordes you encounter as opposed to larvitar.. the more likely you'll be to end up with shiny onix. With hordes of 3 at 50% you'll most probably have to encounter a lot more hordes but you'd have a way better chance to get larvitar compared to the 70/30 ratio. It's not the same.

Edit: Unless I am mistaken and don't understand what you mean but this is my input on it. Maybe it would make more sense if they implement 3 different hordes at 33.33%. That being said, your chance of encounter the desired mon would be less than 1/3 but still better than the current chance.

  2. Regarding the update last year october, I am certain the majority of us are aware of the changes that were made for hordes. It's been a few months and I haven't seen anyone really talking about it anymore. The update decreased the rate of certain horde-species. Example, hordes were based at 50%. If there are 2 hordes in a location, the player always had a 50/50 chance to encounter either of them. Now the change affects the Rare species giving it a lower encounter rate as oppose to the latter and that I agree with as it keeps a bit of exclusivity for those certain mons. Basically some hordes probably have a 70-30% difference. (not entirely sure what the % are but close enough. Examples are like dratini with magikarp, Larvitar with onix and a few others with better percentages. My suggestion is that maybe we can rotate / exchange the higher percentage hordes with other mons every month. Same concept as the legendaries. This will of course prevent you from getting 5 onix or 5 magikarps and rather a few onix and few magikarps and other species before actually hitting the desired one. It's kind of Brutal... to say the least if you encounter 5+ of the same shinies due to the big difference in the rates. As far as I know Rachel might have mentioned something similar to this but I can't remember. Is there any suggestions you guys can give on how we can better this system and of course still keep the exclusivity of the rarer mons? If rotations are in the works.. when can we expect to see them? Don't crucify me.. just a suggestion and something I am really curious about. Have a great day!

Agreed. Based on his previous threads and now this, I wouldn't be surprised if he would reach to that level.

Anyways to clarify his previous statement. Nintendo has nothing on PokeMMO. They dodge DMCA strikes because they require the user to provide the roms for the game and they do not provide it themselves. How the user requires the roms is entirely their own doing and has nothing to do with PokeMMO.

As long as they don't specifically provide something copyrighted in the Pokemon franchise, they're all good. So PokeMMO is totally legal and all of their work is their own. So in future if you want to be a big dog don't p*ss like a puppy and make baseless claims.

Edit: Sorry if I am a bit rude. But this game has been running for over 11 years and it's been most probably the best Pokemon MMO available. Reading trash like that makes me angry.

Warp tiles are nice but long overdue, also they dont mean much when implemented in tandem with a new rule that totally cripples early players abilities to do gym runs. It doesnt effect me as much because i have a perfect IV all level 100 rerun squad but new players need to restart all the time during reruns. Trust me im in a team with over a hundred members when people start doing reruns you will see them dc over and over in team chat due to making a mistake and being forced to log out of the battle. If you get stuck in a crappy situation where you cant win and the opponent cant win easily you are now forced to just  pp stall and struggle or wait ten minutes to log back in.

Perfect IV mons are not necessarily the best option for gym runs. If that is your main income I'd suggest you go have a look at the gym World Record run on youtube. I think it's like 1 hour for all the gyms and this team requires you to not have perfect Iv's as you make use of certain skills like CB Explosion weezing etc. Perfectly calced team to set the record.

    Edit:

Watch this video to get an idea of what I mean. This guy is a f**ing Legend.

    Hear me out…

Let players buy apartments of 3 varying levels of luxury. I’m not talking about where you can buy furniture and live like the Sims (maybe in the future). Just already furnished apartments of 3 pre-designed floor plan sizes and costs. MAYBE a color scheme option. Same building location like a condo. Just when you walk in, the floor plan is what you paid for. Option to have it accessible to friends as well, so that when you interact with the door a menu pops up to enter into your own apt (if you own one) or a friend’s apartment if they have “friend access” on.

    Simple Apartment:
    •Small studio floor-plan.
    •Bedroom to heal your mon.
•PC to access boxes and GTL.

(Friends too if they have access)

    Deluxe Condo:

    •2 level floor-plan. Medium space.

•Luxury living room for chat parties

    (pre furnished)

    •Bedroom for healing mon.

•PC with extra boxes for more mon storage.

    Luxury Suite:

    •3 levels with elevator.

    •BEDROOM - Large floorplan

    •LIVING ROOM - More luxurious

•PC with extra boxes for storage

    •Vanity Battle Basement (host tourneys)

•Backyard Area with 1 extra Berry Plot

    (swimming pool for vanity look)

Sell them on the Gift Shop…

    Character Locked.

    This is true vanity. 😂

Hmmm if we can't afford a house irl... seems like PokeMMO the way to go. On a serious note this will basically serve as an extention / update for hidden bases if they ever resort to tweaking those. It could have been a big thing but the design of it overall will be big depending on how you approach it. Accolades in your hidden base can basically be simple things like a poster on your wall and once interacted with, will display tournaments you have won or placed in. Datemarks of Shinies you have successfully captured or whatever you decide to add to it. A wardrobe where you can match and fit vanities that you own. Iirc for hidden bases there was also limited things at one stage. Like a christmas tree or smth else I can't quite remember but you had to acquire them through an event or something. Now can you imagine what those would be worth if there was a market for commodities that are hidden-base related. Anyways I don't see any significant changes for hidden bases any time soon but who knows.

I don't think the rate is fair it's too lenient towards the playerbase, I think a more approriate shiny rate would be 1/50k or even 1/80k because if you really take it into consideration these new odds are more realistic and will add more value to shiny hunting as a whole. The current shiny rate shows too much mercy

How many shinies have you caught?

  7. The most important thing when being banned is that you have to represent yourself / explain yourself even though you are not presented with evidence. Staff just don't ban people without efficient proof. They always go the extra mile to make sure that the ban is justified. I'll give you some advice, your best chance in a scenario like this is to be as honest and clear as you can be. You will most definitely know why you received the ban. It's up to you to explain to them what occurred and give a broad explanation. Trust me.. being sincere and respectful towards them goes a long way. They are also human after all. Anyways good luck to you mate. Ask them if you can start another account and then you can play again if they give the green flag.

Theres definitely a lot of repeat offenders lol guilty as charged. For some reason i check in with the forum more often than i check in with my wife 🤣🤣 while i agree more people should use the forums...im fearful at the same time that it will just bring higher levels of crying and complaining than we already see. Not sure why...but somewhere between "player support ticket" and "forum post", people tend to get lost lol

    Your wife.

Gl selling it Bro,Hope you make a gud Deal!

Thanks bro. I will be taking most probably the biggest L ever because I will spend everything on egging Alpha Starters after completing my 2012 collection. I did calcs and I'd say I have a pretty decent chance at egging all 3 of them if RNG does not mess with me.

DerGetrollte is a serious menace to the PokeMMO community on several fronts. Firstly, the guy straight-up called me "Caillou" without batting an eye or showing any remorse, displaying a complete lack of empathy and respect for fellow players. It's not just about me; this kind of behavior sets a toxic tone for the whole community. Plus, have you seen the guy? He's got this massive throat and rocks a big black motorcycle hat, giving off this intimidating vibe that can make other players uncomfortable. And let's not forget about his physical presence, with elbows that rival the mass of your average Redditor, adding to the sense of unease. It's like he's actively trying to disrupt the positive atmosphere we're trying to foster here. What's even worse is that he seems to hate Pokemon, which is basically the entire point of PokeMMO. His anti-Pokemon sentiment flies in the face of everything we're about, and it's detrimental to the community's cohesion and enjoyment. We need to address this behavior head-on before it ruins the experience for everyone.

I mostly agree with Orange's ratings.

I agree that the Regi Trio and the Lake Trio are the best choices to be introduced, I think Meloetta would also be a good addition to start with.

From the legendaries that are missing I guess Kyurem would be fine to add in its base form.

    Great post.

Edit: I believe the Therian Formes of Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus would require a B2W2 rom to be added.

The Regi's will most probably be the first that come. I am guessing that'll make the most sense. I just hope they will be obtainable in a way that is far different than the current legendaries. This running in grass is something else. I mean it's not all that bad cuz you can payday but the biggest problem for me is if I want to hunt this legendary and have a pretty good chance to encounter an unwanted shiny. Especially if you're doing 10k+ encounters. Maybe it's not all that bad because some of the locations have Starters and other rare mons but the odds are not that good xDDD
