  1. If there is disparity in one's judgement here, it's clearly not Damian's. Why can't you just listen to everyone and block them already, move on and wait for a bug update instead of derailing global chat, instigating more fights and bringing more unwanted attention to yourself? Please take some time off and look back at the situation later when you've calmed down. I'm really sorry for what you had to go through but you're also not making it easier for yourself.
  2. I don't entirely disagree with that, it's just that it's not entirely the same thing. On one hand, we have players who were abusing a feature in order to defraud others and on the other hand, players who fail to research what they are about to list on GTL and get taken advantage of thereafter. No one is willing to buy an overpriced RP Voucher unless they were mislead by the fact they could easily mistake one for another, snipers or not. You can't ask every single player in the game to not purchase any low-priced item on the gtl listed because a novice player made a mistake and expect every single one of them to listen. That's just unreasonable. Beside, they went through every step of the GTL and deliberately chose to list their items at chosen price regardless. Their action put them in this predicament while those who abused the gtl put others in this predicament.
  3. It’s not really the same thing. We can’t compare lack of awareness of prices by certain players and deliberate attempts to defraud others by abusing the fact that certain items share resemblance or after luring players with cheap items. There is intent to defraud since you're going out of your way creating these listings and actively trying to scam people , whereas sniping is just happening when you’re at the right place at the right time. If you took rp vouchers for instance a year ago or so, specifically 100 rp vouchers and 1000 rp vouchers, they used to look very similar. Players with malicious intend would deliberately abuse that fact by selling 100 rp vouchers at the price of 1000 rp vouchers in hope someone less attentive would fall for it. I’m unaware which items or pokemon are used now to defraud others via gtl but I highly doubt it’s anything less scummy
  4. LC in PokeMMO history is a complicated case. I was there when LC was reintroduced and seen the hype it gathered but it never managed to keep the momentum and I was also there when it eventually died out. I have managed Yetto's Taillow Time back in my staff days for about 2 years from late 2018 to late 2020 and I've seen with my very own eyes the slow decline of LC. It went from easily filling 32-seat tour in the first months to barely filling them after a while, then when the decision was made to change them into 16-seat tour, it didn't take long before it also had issues filling seats. As time passed, little by little, the LC community kept shrinking in size until eventually staff pulled the plug. So what happened? What caused the downfall of LC? Was it inevitable? Could it have been prevented? Well I don't have all the answers and we will never really know for sure. I also don't think there's one reason in particular that caused the decline but I think these factors surely didn't help: Absence of ranked matchmaking for LC; LC being overshadowed by other Tiers due it's gimmick and niche nature; Perhaps at the time there was a lack of official LC tournaments and support, which I think might be true; Perhaps at the time there was a slow decline in general player population between two major updates, which I also think might be true; Now it's been a few years since LC stopped being officially supported but has things really changed that much so that it would warrant its reintroduction? Here is what I can assess from my current and past observations : Little Cup is a gimmick tier by nature and that will never change, as much as I appreciate LC it is much more of a gimmick than OU/UU/NU are and poses a challenge when it comes to attracting new players. OU attracts the majority of players and especially new players. It has a sets of extensive rules and bans other tiers don't which might be less appealing; Little Cup is very niche, it's rarely the first pick choice for any newcomers, they tend to go with the most played tier. It's usually played by relatively old or experienced player. Building around LC was much more difficult to beginners due to how stats are calculated and all. However, although still underground, there is now a fully dedicated server (LCPL) with guides and stat calculator and with its members offering assistance as well. It's still is a niche but it’s much more approachable; Little Cup was never given the same opportunities as the other tiers, it never had matchmaking and thus it never stood a chance. We will never know if it could have been sustainable with a MM system. (I personally think it would have not made much a difference but I'm ready to be proven wrong, I've seen some players bring up that point which is only fair); Tournaments would fail to fill all seats even in prime time. It would fail to fill 32-seat tour and would fail to fill 16-seat tour. Now it regained attraction with LCPL which allows for better organization and management, plus introduction of hidden abilities helped for most tiers. Is that enough though, how long will it last? Hopefully long enough but it's not a certainty either; Little Cup died before because it didn't have enough new players joining in vs old player departing. Over time it just got barely sustainable. The lack of exposure surely didn't help, as well as everything mentioned above. I’m unsure if it would be significant however; Little Cup was and is a generally stable tier, Pokemon rarely get banned and usages rarely move. I say generally because addition of hidden abilities shuffled things up a bit but once it settles I can only assume that it will remain relatively stable. Most Pokemon from 5 years ago are still the most played in term of usage as of today. which is a good thing if you want to get into LC; While OU/UU/NU are much less stable tiers, pokemon from lower tiers can have other usages in upper tiers and vice versa when they eventually move down a tier. Same for doubles. LC in the other hand requires specific breeds of pokemon that gets used in LC solely. This comes with a cost, and given the choice, most players will sadly find it more practical to spend their resources elsewhere; The more matchmaking options there are, the more the competitive scene gets sparse. The addition of LC on top of already having OU/UU/NU/Doubles and Randoms wouldn't help LC. Honestly though I'd trade randbats for LC anytime because holy this is even more gimmicky and just a nuisance for other tiers; We don't really know how LC will be affected once the Johto hype fades out and months or years go by without major updates. For now it's only been great but how long till we see the effects. I think LC will be the first community impacted by a decrease in player population due to its relatively small playerbase. LC still has its issues and challenges for sure. Some that will never change no matter how we look at it. But I think if we do things differently this time around it might have a chance to work. There is a dedicated community that keeps it alive and well, although very small in comparison to official tiers but significant compared to other unofficial tiers. The tier has also more merits than Randbats too. In some ways I feel randbats robbed LC from ever having any other opportunities. Randoms will always outperform LC, heck I'm pretty sure it outperforms UU and NU because there are no comps requirement and is easily accessible (hence why I consider it a nuisance). With all things considered I think LC deserves another chance, with ALL the same chances as other tiers and NOT put aside as a lesser tier. Otherwise it is doomed to fail again.
  5. who wants to team up with me I'm very smart I promise
  6. I understand that it's close to what is done in the main series and that's probably why they chose it to be this way but it just doesn't seem to be a good adaptation for an MMO. There are other creative ways in PVE that could have been used to introduce them instead of random wild encounters. They've proven us they can be creative with their very own custom events for major holidays that entice both the pve and pvp playerbase. Here, I just feel like they missed the mark. Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad we are finally getting legendaries in the game, it's been a long time coming. It's just that the delivery feels underwhelming. It's kind of unfortunate that for an MMO, other than the fact that it's massively online, it lacks a lot of cooperative features and purposes. We only get to partake in coop events 3 to 4 times per year during a short period of time, generally all by the end of the year and early part of the new year, while the rest of the year is lackluster. I was kind of hoping that the introduction of legendaries would fill that gap by allowing us to farm for them in a cooperative and challenging manner all year long with rotating legendary roster, and that we could use the link feature in a more meaningful way than just charms, pokemon contest and battle frontiers. I can only hope that random wild encounters will only be for the roaming legendaries and wish they will come up with something else for the remaining legendaries, especially since we've been told completely different things
  7. Transferring cash or assets between account is fine. If it has been acquired through legitimate means there should be no issue either. I wouldn’t recommend through GTL because you end up losing money due to fees
  8. I’m not sure why the roaming Legendaries couldn’t have been made shiny-locked from the get go. Whether they are shiny or not is predetermined at creation using some sort of character seeds if I’m not mistaken, making it an extremely unreliable way to shiny hunt them anyway. You’d have to create a character, complete johto then encounter w/e roaming legendary is currently out there and repeat. Shiny hunters stand to lose pretty much nothing because it’s ridiculously unlikely to happen. The competitive scene is however undeniably the biggest loser here. If you lock very viable legendaries behind a heavily rng-based approach then it is going to favor certain type of players over others ie: wealthier players, which in return would put them at a cutting-edge in the competitive scene. That being said, I don’t think guaranteed encounters is the solution. It sounds like a poor game design choice. I think a more challenging approach would’ve been better rather than making the encounter rng-based, or at least have both options. We’ll see how it goes as time passes perhaps this just a nothing burger and their prices will only decrease as more players over time find them. For now I feel it’s still advantageous to a handful of players given how recently they’ve been introduced
  9. I think the fact that it hasn't already happened yet is a pretty alarming. I get that Raikou has only been made available yesterday but given pokemmo current population, I cannot fathom the fact that no player has encountered and caught both of them yet. The odds of that being the case seems ridiculously low. I could still be wrong though
  10. what if we had 2 to 4-members link raids against stronger alpha (dynamax-like raid from sword/shield) for alphas as another way to find alphas
  11. Hello Mr. Host, are the following changes a response to the recent discussion that has come to light regarding Blitz Battle 50k signup fees? I agree with the decision but I'd like to hear what @caioxlive13has to say, because this response seems to be targeted at his expense.
  12. Mise à jour 2023 ajout d'informations à propos de Sinnoh; ajout d'informations pour l'arrosage (optimisation, intervalle de temps max, etc) réécriture de certains passages pour clarifier, donner de meilleurs explications; correction de fautes.
  13. J’accuse! @gbwead you tyrant how could you choose the rules of your event as sole host of the WC and disregard nonchalantly a vocal minority that does not represent the majority of the participants .. and make people pay for it!
  14. Or simply increase server slots during popularity spikes, maybe that’s already the case who knows. Having 2 separate servers is definitely not a good idea because one will eventually die out when the dust settles. The queue is not that egregious, just gotta wait a few minutes it won’t discourage any new players. If anything it would be the opposite, they’ll learn that pokemmo still receives updates and new content and that we manage to maintain a healthy player base which might entice them more to stay
