Welcome to the Official PokeMMO Team Tournament 2021 General Thread~

1. Introduction

Team Tournaments of 2021 will include a few changes to the registration and the importance of the points system. Each month teams will compete over a title of champions of said month, and points for the general standings table.

2. Tier Rotation

For 2021, we will have a tier rotation different than last year:

January: OU / UU / NU

February: UU / NU / Doubles

March: OU / NU / Doubles

April: OU/ UU/ Doubles

May: OU / UU / NU

June: UU / NU / Doubles

July: OU / NU / Doubles
August: OU/ UU/ Doubles

September: OU / UU / NU
October: UU / NU / Doubles

November: OU / NU / Doubles
December: OU/ UU/ Doubles

We believe that making TTs lack OU from time to time will encourage teams to practice other tiers as well. Considering we saw similar teams each month with tier rotation, I don't think this will be really a problem.

3. Dates of Tournaments

The Team Tournament of each month should be held on the last Saturday of the Month. The only exceptions are:
-Months of Season's finale

-December

4. Registration Rules

Registration is changed to include both general standings and the standard registration.

Guaranteed spots:

January-  Cup of the year winner + Dec TT winner (Aka NORE and VVVV)

February- nr 1 Spot on standings

March- Nr 1 spot on standings + winners of February

April- Nr 1 and 2 standings, + winners of March

May- Nr 1 -3 standings + winners of April

June- nr 1-4 standings + winners of May

July- nr 1-5 standings + winners of June

August- nr 1-6 Standings + winners of July

September- nr 1-6 Standings + winners of August

October- nr 1-6 Standings + winners of September

November/December- nr 1-8 Standings + winners

Registration Rules:

* Teams from guaranteed spots need to provide their registration up to one hour after registration will start.

* Only registered players are allowed to play.

* Registration must include all information below:

Team Name:
Team Tag:
Registered Players:
Team Captain:

(Note: The Team Captain is who I will contact if I need to relay information to your team.)

+ Registration without all information will not be counted.
+ Editing players in is allowed, up to an hour before the tournament, if they were not registered to play for another team.
+ Adding/changing player before the tournament is possible by in-game/forum notification to host. Please inform the host of the change - if it will happen after that deadline.

* Entry must be made by a member of the team.

* Entry that was originally including one team, but then edited to another one, will not be counted at all. If a player who made an entry would change teams, he can't use his spot for a new team.

* Team must have at least 3 players ready to fight. Failing to meet this requirement, will result in disqualification, and 1st reserve team will take place

Example of valid entry

[GM]

Team Name: GameMasters
Team Tag: GM
Registered Players: SecretDjinn TheChampionMike Munya
Team Captain: Munya

If I notice your team is an alt team, when creating the bracket and reserves list I will put that team on the last spot of reserves.

Team Players Gap: 20

5. Penalties

Penalties will work like the general warning giving to a team for unsportsman like behavior or trying to ruin the fun for other players. An example of this would be a match-fixing or standing on the spot of fighting players to make it harder to see who they are playing against. This system will run in similar rules to some sports events and will include:

-Yellow cards that will work as a warning to a team about certain behavior.
-Red cards that will result in taking away the points from general standings, disqualifications of certain players or the whole team- depending on the behavior.

6. Cup of the Year 2021

As in the past, team's efforts will be calculated using point system:

Champion: 10
2nd Place 7
Semifinal 4
Round 3 2
Round 2  1

The hierarchy in the General Standings table will be:

1. Points

2. Points scored/TT attended

3. Highest position in tournament (champions > 2nd place etc)

4. Won Matches

5. Lost Matches

6. Direct matches between teams during 2021

7. Number of TT attended (the more the better).

Location: Silph.co - ch4 ( start + matches 5-8) and ch3 (matches 1-4), unless further changes will occur

We have previously discussed trying to do something fun and to make the tournament a bit more challenging for us by having multiple people line up for each tier and letting the opponent pick who they want to play against. Would this still be allowed and not result in any penalty?

You can all stand outside the arena of playing and this way opponent has no idea who he is facing as well. We will for sure give detailed instructions during first TT, about what we expect.

If it has any alt of player from other team that is playing, I consider it alt team right away

Is it not allowed to play for another team with an alt account when your team did not sign you up ?

From what I understand it is only allowed if your "main" is in a team that's not playing is that it ?

Asking for a friend (legitimately lol)
