On the latest stream we talked about the various levels and rewards available in the Donation Reward Ladder:

Level 1 - 50 Million - All Star Match
Level 2 - 70 Million - Welcome to Hollywood

Some weeks before, we're discussing if are good put LC on Tier rotation or not. Unnefable do the right choice on my opinion: LC aren't on official Tier lineup, but if two teams that can play LC face each other, LC can be choosen on Captain's tier choice. This resolved the problem, since countrys that can't play LC will not be forced to play the tier, but countrys that can, if face each other, will be able to play.

Madagascar didn't put forth a team captain and will be absorbed by upcoming "Rest of" teams.

Next steps:
2 days left for team captains to submit team roster, minimuum 6, maximum 18.

After that we'll see who is left and create whatever teams we can with whoever is left.

Once this is complete the Captain's Meeting will take place.

Following that we'll have the group seeding.

Latin Party could fullfill all of their slots with venezuela players, but for some reason they don't do that. Also, where is the Rest of Asia/Oceania team?

After hearing some feedback from the community and working a bit with @AwaXGoku and @Limbow we've tweaked the seeding criteria. We're still using previous year WC participation but giving it a different weight. WC -1 is given a weight of 1.5 given it's the most recent year. WC -2, 1.25, WC -3 , 1 and the total of WC -4 (at the moment it's just WC 1 but in the future it will be more) a weight of 0.75. This means that the most recent WC will count more towards the current seeding but previous WC's will also count. After this we also decided to give each team a Hall of Fame addictive based on the current year so this time around we looked at 2021/2022. Looking at 1st place for each player of the team. This should give each team a boost in seeding based on their current roster proven individual strength. However so as not to have 1 single player carry a team we've capped it at 1 HoF entry per player. Also in order to not benefit large countries as opposed to smaller countries we've capped the HoF additive to the minimum size of the team in the current WC iteration. This means that this year the HoF additive will be capped at 6 per team. We also decided to give each pickup team a base ranking of 1. With these adjustments we feel that the seeding is much more representative of the current roster power levels.

Since this is WC 5, this means there are 4 previous WC winners. With 4 pools of 6 teams, would it be possible to have each previous winner in a different pool and have them select their opponents?

Example:

 

Pool A: Brazil

Pool B: France

Pool C : Belgium

Pool D : China

 

Turn 1:

Brazil picks Chile for pool A. France picks Paraguay for pool B. Belgium picks Canada for pool C. China picks Netherlands for pool D.

 

Pool A: Brazil, Chile

Pool B: France, Paraguay

Pool C : Belgium, Canada

Pool D : China, Netherlands 

 

Turn 2: Chile picks Germany for pool A. Paraguay picks Taiwan for pool B. Canada picks Cuba for pool C. Netherlands picks Spain for pool D.

 

Pool A: Brazil, Chile, Germany

Pool B: France, Paraguay, Taiwan

Pool C : Belgium, Canada, Cuba

Pool D : China, Netherlands, Spain

 

Etc.

 

 

I think a system like this could be more fun for teams and also more dramatic since picking a team is basically an insult implying that team is easy to beat.

Rereading the posts from the first 24 hours got me some good laughs. The crowd in all the drama because they thought that an unknown Host + Co-Host that they accuse to be WinTrader would make wrong decisions and ruin the World Cup. But this is not the case, both Unnefable and WilliamHE are making decisions that in my opinion were beneficial to the tournament, such as:

• Reducing the amount of tiers, guarranting to more countrys the chance of compete. On last world cup, iirc, we have 24 countrys, but 2 are a second team from other country and we can't forgot the plenty of "Rest of" teams, like Rest of America, Rest of Latam, Africa, West Europe, Rest of Europe and Rest of Asia + Oceania. Desconsidering those cases we have only 16 countrys playing WC4 . On this world cup we have 23 ellegible countrys, only 22 enter because madagascar failed to select their captain in time, and only 2 "rest of" teams was needed(Latin Party(That accepted later members of Asia, Europe and Oceania that didn't have a team) and African Nations). However, if Unnefable allowed secondary teams of countrys to be created, China , Cuba and venezuela could have secondary teams increasing the amount of teams competing. Unfortunately didn't happened.
• They removed the obligation to play LC, which helped a lot some countries, which previously entered the game already losing the game by 1-0, for not having an LC player. At the same time, it left the LC still as an option for teams that can play the tier, not removing the tier completely and leaving it as an option for those who like it.

• Created a slightly fairer group stage draw system. The previous one highlighted the amount of HoF entries that the country had, favoring countries with more players, and currently also takes into account the country's performance in the past WCs.

• Create a complete Masterfile with all data from this world cup and data from previously world cups. This can help future hosts of world cup

They made the right choices and now they deserve applause. Beautiful work!

At the moment we have cash and non cash prize pool. 

Cash prize pool will be for World Cup itself with the prize distribution being the one already announced.

At the moment we're discussing using the non cash prize pool for side events. But it is still an on going discussion we will announce as soon as it is decided.
