They are already somewhat random between the highest and the lowest ivs of the parents.

What you really want is for them to add an extra dynamic to breeding an element of risk -like making it that you can breed pokes->lose parents->get an egg but with a chance to break the egg/ lose the egg leaving you with nothing. They can make it that breeds with higher ivs have higher chances to give you eggs which will break.

And ofc naturally with such a system you would get resistance from breeders who dont want to have a whole box of their eggs break but thats the whole point to make breeding more special by making it more difficult.

I wouldn't have minded more random ivs through breeding, if you had, say, bottle caps to max out an IV.

As long as you can make a 5x31 within reasonable amounts of time and money, any system works.

But we're already here now, why bother finding a different system to accomplish the same?

But if two parent have the Same IV as 31, It will be no longer random. And every pkm are the same when you have enough money to breed.
Look at the list pkm of the global trade link. All top pkm are 5x31 IV, right nature, right ability two. All are same. It look so bore.
If they make a little bit random IV when two parent have same max IV like I sugest before -> the system breedind will be more interesting, all of pkm will have a little bit different but they are all strong enough with 2x31 IV and other IVs values will random from 21~31

But that's the point - what you're not seeing when looking at the 'top' entries in the GTL is the work that went into breeding them to that standard.

Even if you changed the system to try and mitigate this (and maybe you'd make it harder to achieve), the 'top' would still look the same because that's still going to be the 'best' that's possible to achieve, and thus what people want.

Consider the competitive Pokemons you fight with Speed IV in 31. For the remaining Ivs, the usual are 28+ especially a preferable IV boost in Attack/Sp. Attack.

There are some people that set all ivs in 31 because they want to get the best of the Pokemon and increase probability of win.

You should know IV = Individual Values. It's not Individual when every pkm are same 5x31 IV.
The breeding system of original game isn't broken like that. You can't choose Gender or change ability with money. The original breeding just make sure offspring get 2x31 IV from there parents. Or 1x31 IV and nature. Other IVs will be RNG

Actually, its even easier in official games, there's even bottlecaps, play the game.

not to mention you can just breed a ditto with 6x31 an infinite amount of times until it's perfect, i have absolutely no idea what this person is talking about
