Popular Post DragoTamer
Details Pokémon: Breloom Ability: Poison Heal Nature: Adamant IVs: Ideally 5x31. For more practical cost-saving purposes, 2x31 with Attack and Speed and as high as you can in the other IVs. EVs: 18 HP, 252 Attack, 240 Speed Moves: False Swipe. Spore. Substitute. Rock Slide. (Bulldoze for Rapidash Hordes) Item: Toxic Orb **Wide Lens when leveling** Prevo Moves: Giga Drain, Spore **PREVO moves are a way to obtain the move via leveling in a PREVO form. If you evolve Shroomish into Breloom, you will have to teach Spore via the move tutor** Egg Move: Wake up slap **Optional, but I recommend it for versatility. It's also just one egg move from an inexpensive poke.** **If you pass egg moves to the final breed, they are re-learnable. This means you will have expanded the maximum moveset of your final breed** HM Moves: Cut, Flash, Rock Smash, Strength Maximizing the range of moves for Breloom Spoiler - Breed wake up slap as an egg move from either clefairy or jigglypuff. I prefer Clefairy since it learns wake up slap at level 22 and Jigglypuff learns it at level 27. - PREVO moves: PREVO moves are a way to obtain the move via leveling in a PREVO form. If you evolve Shroomish into Breloom, you will have to teach Spore via the move tutor. - This method gives you the maximum move range for Breloom. Whether you utilize the moves or not, planning this in your breed gives you a much nicer Breloom than what most people have and it won't cost you extra if you plan it out wisely Note: If you plan to breed an alpha breloom, use clefairy/Wigglytuff as breeding material to pass on the egg move since they're very cheap. EV Distribution Explanation Spoiler - 240 Speed EVs helps Breloom outspeed the fastest Alpha. - 252 attack EVs will maximize False Swipe damage and Rock Slide damage. - 18 HP EVs. After using one sub, you can still recover your full health after two turns even though the total HP is 265. After 1 sub, Breloom's health will drop to 199. After one turn it heals to 232 and after the second turn it heals back to 265 HP. - 6 Defense EVs. The remaining 6 went to Defense since Breloom has a higher base Defense stat than Special Defense stat - The reason I chose Rock Slide as my fourth move is to deal damage against any NPCs I may not have battled. Different players may use an alternate fourth move to suit their preferences. - I do NOT recommend bulldoze for EV training. You normally want to EV train Speed EVs last so you can transition straight into solo leveling without delay. Because of that, you want a move that can effectively help Breloom Solo level. Rapidash hordes hold shuca berries which can make ground type moves ineffective thus reducing your exp gains and time spent. I highly recommend using rock slide with wide lens. It is tested and proven. Leveling Strategy Spoiler - The following information assumes that Breloom knows Rock Slide and follows the above details. - At level 62, after taking into horde mechanics with reduce the power of AOE moves, Breloom can OHKO Rapidash hordes with Rock Slide. For any that you fail to hit, they tend to use bounce which gives you plenty of time to run away without damage. At this level, Breloom has enough speed to run away successfully. - You can use exp candies that are farmable from beating/catching alphas in order to level Breloom to a level where it can solo hordes if it hasn't reached that level after EV training. - Use an EXP. Charm (50%) or (100%) when Breloom is ready to battle alone. It is a variable exp group Pokemon so maximizing the experience points you earn as soon as possible will help you - It will be best to have a Pokemon that knows teleport so you can teleport directly to nurse joy at the PC to save time with your exp. charm. caioxlive13
Tip for leveling Up: For now, you cannot use it. But if you're planning to do the breloom after Gen 9 set updates, you can use Choice Band + Bulldoze on same Rapidash horde. The advantage is you don't have to deal with the 4,9% chance of miss some mon on a horde(with wide lens, without is 41,59%) and taking onto consideration that Breloom are from the slowest exp group, requiring 1,640,000 XP to go from 1 to 100, you must avoid the missing chance. DragoTamer
Updated with the bulldoze information. For future preference, the optimal 4 PREVO moves for Breloom were poisonpowder, worry seed, spore, and growth. After the gen 9 moveset changes were implemented, the only two PREVO moves remaining are giga drain and spore. Giga drain can be taught via TM, but it may be nice to ensure it's a prevo mvoe as it can be cheaper, depending on the heart scale market, to teach it via the move tutor rather than TM. caioxlive13
I need to give a most clean explanation because i feel like what i post before was incomplet. From level 54 to 100, Breloom has to gain exactly 1,454,193 Exp to go to level max. The average amount of Exp. Gain on Tentacruel Horde(You can train on Battle Frontier. No tentacruel will pass you and even a 31x on HP and Def, and Bold, wouldn't resist to Bulldoze + Band: Lvl 54 252+ Atk Choice Band Breloom Bulldoze vs. Lvl 50 0 HP / 0+ Def Tentacruel: 164-194 (105.8 - 125.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO) is 6000. You would need 243 hordes to max out. You would need a bit more with Rock Slide on Rapidash, since it had a bit less(5,9k afaik). The odds of you hit all moves is insanely low. No matter what horde you're in, if you miss you get f***, and loss precious time of Charm, healing. And on Rock Slide, on 2nd horde there is around 90% chance of you manage to hit all mons without missing. 3rd horde, this chance is from 86%. 4th horde, 81%. And it kept getting lower... Without Wide lens is 34% of landing rock slide on all mons, already on 2nd horde, don't even try. Edited June 19, 2023 by caioxlive13 Link to comment
DragoTamer
I have updated this guide to remove mention of bulldoze and reverted back to the rock slide leveling strategy. Both methods were tested and rock slide came out superior. The reasoning is due to Rapidash carrying shuca berries which reduced ground type damage. This caused a large waste in time. Rock Slide is a proven strategy wherein if you follow the above build and leveling strategy instructions and tips, you can reach Level 100 within the time of one Exp. Charm. I have also updated the notes for PREVO moves Edited June 25, 2023 by DragoTamer Link to comment

MeiMei1stGradeJS
Really great and neat guide. for wide lens i farm Sableye in Hoenn. and for Toxic Orb i farm Muk in Kanto. My Breloom can start lvling up by itself at lvl 55 with Wide Lens equipped at Unova Rt. 12 Rapidash. It got full ev and minimum 31 attack and 31 speed though, Really2 helpful guide thanks a lot ! DannyWith6Ys
If you have a 31 HP iv breloom, giving it 16 HP evs puts it to 265 hp, if you drop that to 12 hp evs your hp will be a multiple of 8, thus poison heal will heal back a substitute in 2 turns instead of 3 Link to comment

I added the details into the EV distribution section as an explanation with numbers. I appreciate you letting me so I could add that info in! Link to comment
