Region Blitzing Guide [Johto Updated] [Last updated 2023 August 28]

image.thumb.png.20929a0c59e9b52103cbeecc26d56e5c.png

This guide contains comps for clearing Gyms and E4/Champions for Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova. It also contains EV training spots Pre-E4 for Speed, Attack, and Special Attack while some regions include EV training Pre-E4 for the other respective stats. Areas that might be rough are normally noted

Guide Areas Under Development: E4/Champion's respective team comps and items, E4/Champion strategies based on their lead mon

Guide Areas Planned to add one day: Comps to clear Gyms 1-4 for each region without GTL use

(I have worked on the formatting some, but consistency is still needed at times but is in a much better state than when initially released. If you have questions

Benefits of the guide: Same E4 team for all 4 Regions as of 2023 April. Gym teams are all bought off of the GTL for 3k or less unless otherwise stated and require 1-3 buys per Gym unless otherwise stated. If EV Training is need, or preferred, EV training locations are given for at least ATT/S.ATT/SPD and are adapted for Pre-E4 EV Training and ideally in areas accessible before the 8th gyms and the major Campaign Boss Fights with Teams Rocket/Magma/Aqua/Galactic/Plasma. The mons also bought off of the GTL are normally chosen for two reasons: they work for clearing the gym and they're also somewhat to heavily readily available on the GTL. There are faster ways to do this and there are cheaper ways by also catching your mons, this guide is meant to be a middle ground for those who fall under any of the following categories: only money is coming from the storylines, not as much time to catch/train all of your needed mons, or you want less frustrating occurrence while running storylines on your main or any alt characters you might make in the future

Recommended: I recommend starting in Kanto since you can over level for Brock or spam oddish, catch Viridian Pikachus for Misty, Diglet/Dugtrio for Surge, and Spam bug Types for Celadon and then you'll have GTL Access. If you already have a region with 4 badges for GTL access, then ignore this entire paragraph

Notes: Unova 8th Badge requires EV training currently, no other gyms need EV training for this guide to work. Kanto/Hoenn do not need EV Training for E4, but it is recomended to make things easier. Sinnoh E4 was SPD Trained and only half of Respective Damage Stat was trained. Unova was  fully EV Trained. The first 1 through 6/7 badges for each region are also fairly accurate for clearing using this guide, while badges 7/8 plus E4 patterns are slightly unstable unless otherwise stated

PokeMMO Walkthrough Kanto:

EV Spots with gains per Horde:
HP: Nidorina  K14 +10
ATT: Nidorino K15 +10
DEF: Slowbro Cape Brink +10
S.ATT: Gastly Pokemon Tower +3, Golduck Cape Brink Water +10

3rd Badge: Surge
-2x Whiscash/Quagsire/Dugtrio lvl30 [Dugtrio is better], Lead with Ground mon and kill what is there until Raichu comes in or is lead with, then rotate to low level starter. Safely rotate lowest lvl Ninjask and Leech Life spam with the ninjasks until Raichu is dead, one Ninjask should be roughly lvl26 by this point and will be the one to kill Raichu. Finish with the two ground mons to finish (2x Dugtrio can probably do the entire fight without needing help) (Team: 2x Ground mon, 3x Ninjask, starter)
4th Badge: Erika
-3x lvl36 Houndour and get to lvl37 to have 3x Houndoom at level cap. Flame Charge and Fire Fang spam Erika [2 of the 3 Houndours can be leveled up by fighting the minions in the gym]

Rapidash/Arcanine only need 1-2 Zen Headbutt damage for a lvl49 Starmie surf to kill them while Magmar and Macargo are one-shotted by a lvl49 Starmie Surf. Ninetales has a Passho berry and will need two turns to kill with Starmie Surf or will need to be about 43/47% HP for a lvl49 Starmie Power Gem to kill
8th Badge: Giovanni
-2x lvl50/52 Psyduck and level up once to evolve then teach surf. Use both Golducks and prior Starmies. Buy a Sturdy Skarmory with spikes to Spikes spam

SPD: Buneary Eterna Forest +3

1st/2nd Badges: Roark/Gardenia
-2x Ninjask with Leech Life
3rd Badge: Fantina
-2x lvl25 Liepard with Pursuit/Assurance
Rival Fight. Mons are based on you choosing Piplup
-lvl30 Jynx, lvl32 Hypno
4th Badge: Maylene
-2x lvl30-34 Hypno + prior hypno
5th Badge: Crasher Wake
-2x lvl36 Magneton, needs 3x all sturdy. Use 3 Hypno from earlier
Rival Fight before gym 6. Mons are based on you choosing Piplup
-lvl38-44 Gyarados, lvl40 Froslass (this one might break the 2-3k cost the rest of the guide uses). Rest of Team: prior 2 highest lvl Hypnos (41/36 for me) for spamming Psybeam/Zen Headbutt, Leech Life Ninjask lvl39 and get Aerial Ace at a move tutor for this Ninjask
6th Badge: Byron
-2x Whiscash lvl39-42. Could use one more, a Quagsire, or teaching surf, was dependant on a Hypno Hypnosis landing
7th Badge: Candice
-Durant, get to lvl44 for iron head. Bring highest lvl magneton/flash cannon, highest lvl hypno with wake up slap (best for getting rid of mamoswines fighting berry), Aerial Ace ninjask for medicham
Mt. Coronet/Distortion World Fights:
-Mars/Jupiter Fight: lvl47 Rapidash, lvl50 Durant, shelgon and lvl up to 50 with Dragon Claw. Also used lvl47 Rapidash, lvl48 Seviper, lvl51 Heracross. Primary Mars' mons, your Rival will primary Mars' mons. Once Mars' team is dead, focus the others
-Cyrus Fight: lvl51 Starmie (cheap Staryu with waterstone. Thunderbolt. You'll use this starmie for the E4 if you don't have one already, lvl50 Durant, lvl50 Salamance (Dragonite might work), lvl51 Heracross (Didn't use)
-Giratina Fight: Team Order: low level (Bibarel), lvl50 Crunch Durant (use old durant), fly/teleport/slave mon [above level cap], lvl51 Psychic Starmie (use old) [Starmie will replace Bibarel when he dies], lvl50 Dragon Claw Salamance (use old unless a viable substitute was found), Random mon bought earlier (another Salamnce or high Damage output mon wouldn't hurt). Prioritize Giratina the entire time [Giratina will cast his wierd Miasmos PokeMMO combo. This will confuse the 1st mon, isable the ability or something of the 2nd, and something else bad to the 3rd like a burn iirc. By having the 1st mon weak, it'll hopefully pull some of Giratina's attention away from the Durant carry. Having the 3rd mon overleveled will result in it killing itself turn one and a Safe/Clean rotation for Salamance. Once Bibarel dies, rotate Starmie in safely. Hyper focus Giritina the entire time] [mulitple durants can replace the other carries]
8th Badge: Volkner
-lvl52 Starmie (old), lvl52 Durant (old), 3x lvl 50/51 Purugly, lvl49 Garchomp (get cheap gabite and evolve) (swap in for Jolteon to block volt switch. Jolteon always volt switches, Rotom uses a lot of air slash, luxray likes superpower)

-Grimsley: (Incomplete)
-Caitlin: (Incomplete)
-N: Volt Switch first turn to use Zekrom later rather than him barely beat Reshiram and then die the following turn. Use skarmor(s) if possible for entry hazards. Johto

Spoiler

Gym 1 Flying type: 2x Leech Life Ninjask
Gym 2 Bug type: 2x lvl17 Ponyta (ideally one has flash fire)

Gym 3 Normal type: 2x lvl26 Ferroseed. Her Miltank spams stomp and rollout, get a clean switch Ninjask and spam mud slap/Sand attack to -2 accuracy and then spam leech life from both ninjasks. Clefairy has incinerate, predict it to rotate a flash fire Ponyta and spam flame charge until dead. No info on teddiursa, but he is the weakest for this composition. Water pulse was present, I think miltank but can remember specifically. A lot of rotating the team to finish her off, but using all gym mons from 1/2/3 it will work plenty fine

Silver Battle: 3x lvl30 Quagsire. I tried about a dozen times using prior mons but to no avail. If you're rival has status moves or with side effects then they'll use them, like thunder wave, but, and water pulse

Gym 4 Ghost type: 3x lvl30-32 Quagsire (I used the three from the silver fight at the burned tower). Gengar hits hard, kill with a mud bomb and a water tail. Misdrevious has a health item, haunter is the troublesome one with energy ball

Gym 5 Fighting type: 3x lvl 34-36 frillish. They'll clear easily, but it's a long fight. Hitmontop spams drill run, poliwrath spam hypnosis and surf. Everything else spammed was normal/fighting and unable to hit ghost types. They probably have some other stuff to use, but their spammable moves will inevitably get cursed bodied and Chuck will rotate his mons heavily. Timing your recoveries and playing around Poliwrath's hypnosis is the main thing. Make sure all frillish have cursed body, recover, and shadow ball

Gym 6 Steel: 4x Tentacruel fro. Lvl32-36 or lvl cap, all with surf or teach surf from HM. If Skarmory lead or fortress lead then 1x barrier, otherwise spam surf to kill everything

Gyarados fight: 3x Crunch Durant and 3 over leveled mons. All Durant crunch and rotate on turn two to lose the intimidate attack drops. The overleveled mons kill themselves turn 3. Rotate Durant's in safely and spam crunch. Only focus the shiny alpha Gyarados. Use Durant's to clear to rocket hideout (This was tested before the gyarados fight was buffed, it should still work but might require some dark glasses to make the crunches stronger)

Gym 7 : 1x lvl38-41 slowking, 2x miltank lvl40-41, if miltank below lvl40 then I recommend silk scarfs for their headbutt, better if zen headbutt intact for rocket hideout stuff. Miltank are the carry. They'll outspeed basically all of the gym leader mons unless mamoswine gets a bulldoze off, if so then rotate to slowking. If slowking in, get nasty plot off and slack off until you can safely land a psychic. For miltank, get captivate off on all but mamoswine (oblivious) and then spam body slam/headbutt. Once mamoswine is dead, miltank easily outspeed and heal through anything due to milk drink and captivate getting special attack drops off. It is a slog of a battle, mainly long due to mamoswine's bulldoze
Rocket stuff: petrol fight is heavy poison based, use prior miltank and best if zen headbutt, body slam, and milk drink. Can bring Durant's from earlier

Silver Fight: slowking and two miltank from earlier and the Durant from earlier

Archer fight: 2x miltank from earlier, Durant from  Earlier (best if lvl44 for iron head, Slowking from earlier and use HM surf on him. The fight was a bit RNG with paralysis, poison, burns, and flinches, just a matter of what mon they lead with and how well you can rotate around it. I recommend filling the two empty slots with overleveled mons to safely rotate the team or bring in more mons for the team that aren't overleveled like more miltanks

Gym 8 Dragon: this is a tough gym, this strat requires a thunder wave to land on Aerodactyl and another thunder wave to land on Kingdra. Get a joltik lvl31 or lower, blitzle lvl28 or lower, hoppip lvl21 or lower, and gabite (the closer to to lvl 41 the better. Joltik and blitzle are to be evolved with thunder wave intact and then add discharge to both, you can learn signal beam for galvantula and learn stomp on zebstrika. Fully evolve hoppip, keep stun spore, learn cotton guard and giga drain. lvl up gabite to 42 to get dragon claw. The team will now be Jumpluff with giga drain/ cotton guard/stun spore, Zebstrika with stomp/discharge/thunder wave, Galvantula with discharge/signal beam/thunder wave, gabite with dragon claw, and then have two overleveled mons for two safe rotations. Lead jumpluff and use cotton guard, clair will rotate Aerodactyl. Barring a crit, Aerodactyl will be outspeed by jumpluff. If aero was led then you'll have one turn to land stun spore, if aero was rotated in them you'll have two turns to land a stun spore, barring a crit. Spam giga drain if jumpluff is still alive. Follow with Zebstrika, spam discharge. Kingdra will be sent out next, spam thunder wave. You'll have one or two turns to land a thunder wave, depending if aero was paralyzed or not and aero will be two shotfed by Zebstrika discharge. Spam stomp if Zebstrika is still alive. Rotate gabite and dragon claw to kill. Gyarados will come into play next. Rotate to an overleveled Mon and safely rotate galvantula and spam discharge, it should one shot the Gyarados. Spam signal beam/discharge on Dragonair. Rotate gabite to kill with dragon claw. Use dragon claw to kill last Dragonair. Extra overleveled shouldn't be needed, but the slot is always better filled with at least a free rotation rather than nothing. If it is a Kingdra lead your don't get thunder waves/stun spores off on Aerodactyl and Kingdra, restart

Ho-Oh Fight: 2x Earthquake Donphan with Soft Sand, 1x Smack Down Pupitar (any smack down mon is fine as long as it outspeeds both Donphan), 3x Waterfall Gyarados. For the Donphan, buy cheap or buy a cheap phanphy and level them up to 44-46, for Gyarados by cheap or buy a cheap magikarp and lvl up to 40s and teach waterfall, for Pupitar buy it cheap make sure it will outspeed both Donphans. Team order: Donphan, Pupitar, Donphan, 3x Gyarados. On turn one, Pupitar will outspeed the Donphans and use Smack down, this will ground Ho-Oh for the rest of the fight. Both Donphans Earthquake, will kill pupitar, and get Ho-Oh to below 50% HP. Both Donphans will be rotated out for Gyarados and replace the 3rd slot with a gyarados, if one of the Donphans is still in then spam earthquake with it until it dies. Spam Waterfall with gyarados until one dies, then rotate Donphan. Donphan will now take the brunt of Radiant Ho-Oh's attacks for 1-2 turns, depending on if one or both Donphans are alive to take the Solar Beams. Ho-Oh will be killed during turn 2 and turn into Radiant Ho-Oh. Ho-Oh will die on turn 4 or 5, depending on RNG. The fight is easier and nearly guarantees the win if all three gyarados have mystic waters. The only stat requirment is that your donphans are slower than your smack down mon

Johto E4:

E4 Team Guide (EV TRAINING is not required to clear Johto E4) (I cleared it without having thunderbolt on starmie and had bite instead of crunch on Crobat)
Natures: [No Negative SPD Natures], [No Negative S.ATT/ATT Natures for the mon's Respective Damage Stat]
-{1} Skarmory "1st Lead" [Sturdy] [Stealth Rock, Spikes] (Iron Defense, Air Slash, Night Slash (Rocky Helmet) EV Training: (SPD), (HP) (lvl52+)
-{2} Skarmory "2nd Lead" [Sturdy] [Spikes, Night Slash] (Fly, Air Slash) (Rocky Helmet) (EV Training: SPD, HP) (lvl52+)
-{S} Starmie "S.ATT Carry" (Natural Cure) [Surf, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Power Gem] [Mystic Water] EV Training: [S.ATT], [SPD] (Within 2 lvls of lvl cap or at lvl cap)
-{H} Hitmonchan "Punching Carry" [Iron Fist] [Mach Punch, Bullet Punch, Fake Out, Drain Punch] [Black Belt] (Metal Coat) EV Training: [ATT], [SPD] (Within 2 lvls of lvl cap or at lvl cap)
-{C} Crobat "1st Rotating Carry" [Inner Focus] [Fly, Cross Poison, Acrobatics, Crunch] (Poison Barb) EV Training: [ATT], [SPD] (Within 2 lvls of lvl cap or at lvl cap)
-{G} Garchomp "2nd Rotating Carry" (Rough Skin) [Dig, Dragon Claw, Outrage, Crunch] [Dragon Claw] EV Training: [ATT], [SPD] (Within 2 lvls of lvl cap or at lvl cap)

-Will, psychic: send out Crobat for bite or no-item acrobatics spam after the 2x Skarmory setup. Follow with Garchomp crunch spam. Starmie backup with surf/rock gem is nice but didn't have to use

-Koga, poison: send out Garchomp for dragon claw/dig spam and then send Crobat for fly or no-item acrobatics spam. He should rotate to Crobat for heatwave on the skarms, this allows Garchomp to kill in a couple turns and then your crowbar outspeed and seriously hurts kogas team. Starmie backup with psychic is good, didn't have to usevthough. Koga had a fortress, no poison typing.

-Bruno, fighting: Garchomp outrage spam after skarmory setup. Next was hitmonchan for a fallout, but died right away. Crobat Fly or no-item acrobatics spam, if steelix is dead then do this promptly as Bruno's other mons are strictly fighting type and will crumble to flying type moves, especially a no-item acrobatics. Starmie psycho backup good but didn't use. Bruno had a steelix, no poison typing.

Agatha, dark: Garchomp with dig/outrage spam after skarmory setup. Followed by Crobat Fly/no-item acrobatics spam. Hitmonchan for fake-out, once more not too useful in these E4 so far even against his type advantage. Starmie with Rock Gem spam, maybe surf or something. Agatha had a Gengar and vileplume, neither are dark.

Lance, Dragon: tough fight, Garchomp can clear roughly 4-5 of Lances team but requires anti-paralysis tactics through items, sacrificing mons to kill Ampharos, or good RNG, as Ampharos static will slow Garchomp down too much. Lance has an Aerodactyl, Gyarados, Ampharos, Kingdra, Dragonite, and tyranitar. Tyranitar is one shotted with dig (Pretty sure he has earthquake so it's a gamble), Kingdra is one shotted with outrage and possible dragon claw, Ampharos should be two shotfed with dragon claw, Gyarados falls after a couple dragon claw, Dragonite is best weakened a little by another Mon on your team, Aerodactyl falls after a couple dragon claw and Garchomp at lvl54-55 can tank 3-5 dragon claw easy so he'll be able to kill Aerodactyl, all but Aerodactyl was using stealth rock and 3x spikes.
