Welcome to PokeMMO's fourth Little Cup Premier League!

Host:

Lumière

LCPL is a team-based event, and these teams are formed by managers. Managers are selected by the host of the event. Players can sign up to be put on the auction list that managers use to bid on players to fill their teams. Once the auction is over, the competition starts! Each week, managers will submit a tier-based lineup of players that will face an opposing team’s lineup, every week the 8 LCPL teams face off against each other in a Round Robin style. The 6 best performing teams then face off in the Playoffs for a chance to take the grand prize.

Rules:
Tiers:

Spoiler

Group stage:

Regular Season + Playoffs:

Spoiler

Seven week round robin, each team will play every other team once. A team will receive 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss.

After the seven weeks are up, the top 6 teams will enter the playoffs, top 2 teams will qualify to semi-finals directly. The playoffs will be formatted as follows:

Playoffs week 1:

- 3rd place vs 6th place (Playoff match #1)

- 4th place vs 5th place (Playoff match #2)

Playoffs week 2 (Semi-finals):

- 1st place vs (Winner of playoff match #2)

- 2nd place vs (Winner of playoff match #1)

Playoffs week 3 (Final):
- Winner of Semi-final 1 vs Winner of Semi-final 2

Scheduling:

Spoiler

- Players will have 4 days to schedule their battles. If one of the parties fail to respond in that timeframe, proof must be given to the host until the end of Thursday. The team of the player who failed to schedule either tries to get the match done, or they are enforced a sub who is able to play at the requested times.

-If no sub is able to play at those times, the other team gets an activity win.

-If a sub is able to play at those times, they both must attend the match.

-If both players have tried to schedule but have not found time to play, the player who gave the least availability will be subbed.

- Players need to provide at least 3 different times.

- If no player attempted to schedule a match until the end of Thursday AND if they don't show up to play at the end of the week (Sunday). Both teams are forced to sub and play inmediately. After this sub, any rule stated previously still applies.

Extensions won't be given.

Usage:

Spoiler

Because Little Cup has no automated usage gathering system, each match played IN GAME will need to be accompanied by a screenshot of the Team Preview. Showdown replays are sufficient and won't need said screen. This gives us a small but better than nothing sample size for future tiering decisions and LCPLs.

Disconnections:

Spoiler

In the event a disconnect occurs:
- If the disconnect happens in team preview or during round 1, the battle will restart with both opponents making the same selections.
- If the disconnect happens during round 2 or later, the disconnected user will receive a loss and no rematch will be given.

Ghosting and coaching:

Spoiler

Ghosting/coaching is not allowed. Anyone that gets caught being ghosted/coached or ghosting/coaching will be banned from the event. Signing up on an alt is also not allowed unless you make sure everyone knows it's an alt. Anyone that gets caught signing up on an alt without revealing his/her real identity will be banned from the event.
In case a manager is involved in the above mentioned activities. The manager is banned, and the 2nd in command takes over, in case the 2nd commits the above mentioned, the 3rd fills the slot. If all three have been banned. The rest of the team is kicked out of the competition.

Auction:

Spoiler

- The auction will take place one week before the competition in an auction. The auction will be done in the corresponding LCPL Discord.

- Bids are declared by managers in a special channel in this Discord.

- Manager's will have 200 credits, and bids will start at 1 credit.

- The bid timer is 15 seconds, after which the player joins the team of the manager that bid the last (prompts for 15s, 10s, 5s).

- Managers are allowed to bid on as many players as they would like, but each team MUST have at least 8 members and max 12.

- Bids that are impossible due to credit restrictions and bids that haven’t been declared on the Discord channel, will be voided.
- Managers can buy themselves for 25 credits. They must use their turn to nominate themselves.

There will be no trades.

Punishments:

Spoiler

Players can be fined for misconduct this season.

Small infractions are punished with a yellow card. 2 yellow cards warrant a red card.
Yellow card encompasses: Harassment, unresponsiveness, lack of effort to schedule matches, showing up late for matches without notice, not announcing matches soon enough or disrespecting teammates.

Red carded players are also suspended for 1-2 weeks depending on the behaviour.

Why gen8 over gen9 ?

I also don't think there is a gen8 ladder anymore. I personally haven't played gen 9, but having the ability to test teams on a ladder is pretty important for these kind of events imo.

Format Update: As requested by the LC community and proven to be more appropriate for the event, the Showdown Gen will be 9th instead of 8th (SVLC Showdown Gen9).
