Seasonal PVE - A Blast From the Past - Main Thread (Saturday, 19th October - Sunday, 15th December)

I am glad to see the qualifying score has been increased to 800.  I think this is still a very reasonable score for any player to achieve under the condition of being able to attend most of the events.

I see some people complaining, but these seem to be due to time zone. IF there was a change that needed to be made it should be the scheduling of events and not the score. Ex: all events on Sat so China is not needing to participate Monday mornings.

A little competitiveness for one of the coolest catching events I’ve seen yet is exactly what I was hoping for and you are sure to see me there!

I agree with the timezone comments above. With the increase of qualifying points to 800, I hope you still consider changing some of the events' schedules. Because in some regions (hello SEA) most of these qualifying catch events are scheduled super early in the morning (the sun is still facing the other side of the world), and they can only conveniently attend around 2 events because of this.

I think people saying these quali weeks should have shiny prizes are incorrect but I respect their opinions.

You are not at all expected to participate in the whole hour in a quali catch event, the main goal is just getting points to get to finals. Staying the whole hour to win if you want is just more fun.

It has been a fun time so far, so many players. GG to the mods for running it.

Is there a google sheet link or something similar where we can check how many points we have secured so far?

Edit: Oh nvm, I didn't see the previous post. You can delete this.

can we have the spreadsheet to confirm our entries

Hi we're currently working on embedding the leaderboards into the main sheet, you'll be able to see your entry and score once this is live

Its now live and visible on the main page

We've had to change it to a link since the embed always stops working whenever we update the main post. Just changed and should be visible now

Hi

I participated in this event and had sent my results properly however I’m not on the leader board? I can’t remember exactly my score was but believe it was about 120

I had my partner double check that I sent it correctly which I did I’m not sure if all the scores are on the spreadsheet.

Is any organizing staff members going to acknowledge the issue with the time zones? At least let us know whether it is a problem that SEA/Australia have most of the events at 3am. Or whether you are okay to cut out this part of the player base from this particular series of event. So far these comments have been straight up ignored and its a bit disheartening.

Thank you Elizn, Parke, Dawn and other staff who are making this catch event series possible. Week 1 using flash in the rock tunnel and catching tons of geodudes was a lot of fun. Looking forward to week 2!

Unfortunately it's not possible for us to cater to every single timezone when it comes to an event like this, we did the best we could with the time we had available to do it. Just like the players, the staff members who run these events also have to take time out of their own time to be online to moderate these events etc. too. So it comes down to what we're able to do in the times we have available to run these events, and all while trying to compensate for as much of the player base as we can with it. All we can do in this instance is try to prepare better for these timezones in future events if the times line up with the participating staff members etc.

I hope this helps clear that up for you.

I understand that staff members may not be located in other regions like SEA to accomodate those specific timezones.

But a probable solution to this is to just stagger the events more evenly, instead of having only 3 timeslots. As you can see, all qualifying catch events from weeks 1 to 8 only had 3 timeslots: 21:00, 01:00, and 04:00 (China time). If we could spread the schedules of catch events more evenly, then it would be fairer for all players around the world. A large playerbase in SEA can only conveniently attend twice (the 21:00 timeslots), unless they sacrifice their sleep while other regions can just do them in the middle of the day.image.png.78c175c974226b4e634d031ebf9ea787.png
