Lilyrain Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 (edited) I still see a lot of misinformation floating around about berry farming, so I set out to write a little cheat sheet for the homies. I went a little wild with the google sheet so it actually more or less turned into a profit calculator instead xD. Which I think this is the part that people might be interested in, since a lot of guides about berry farming have come before me and have probably done it better. So if you're wondering what to plant, which methods are the most profitable or which braindead method earns the most money, you can use this spreadsheet to find out just that. You can input how many characters you'll be farming on, profit per hour based on your personal plant/harvest/water speed and GTL prices for all the different seeds and berries (which affect the tables that calc the profit for all the various farming methods). Have a look and let me know if there's anything you would like to see added, as long as it is related to Leppa farming. Any constructive feedback is always welcome, especially if you find any faults with my math (and can prove it :>)! --> Click to see the spreadsheet <-- Update: I added a checkbox to automatically pull all the prices from pokemmohub. Re-copy the sheet to your own Google Drive so you can access the sheet's full functionality and tinker with the numbers. (Please don't spam the checkbox button) Update 2: Few small visual improvements and you can now bypass GTL fees if you intend to sell everything outside GTL. Update 3: New table, more profit. You know the drill. Edited Saturday at 07:38 AM by Lilyrain New function ColesNightfill and Owlsie 2

Lilyrain Posted November 14, 2024 Author Posted November 14, 2024 Ok, it's not as bad as I initially thought. Planting is basically the same, harvesting is a lot slower and watering stayed the same on PC (if you keybind your watering can, which you should). I was misled by the lag from the initial event hype, I attributed more of it to the text speed than I should have. Yes, it's slower, more annoying and more click intensive in the harvesting part of berry farming, but profit per hour hasn't actually been impacted that much.
Lilyrain Posted Tuesday at 09:33 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 09:33 PM I have tweaked the sheet a little bit here and there since last year. So, if anyone's looking for an automatic profit calculator for berry farming, have another look,
ColesNightfill Posted Wednesday at 10:44 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:44 PM I don't know if you're interested, but there's a way to automatically fetch the latest prices of items, such as seeds, and display it as a number in google sheets, using pokemmohub api. I can send you a demo if you dm me, and you can decide if you wanna implement it into your sheet/calc.

However, I personally like to input a range of prices to see how it changes the numbers. If the data is fed in automatically, you could no longer do that. I also suspect that it would fetch either the lowest price on gtl or an average, when the number I usually look for is the average of a couple of listings below the lowest price to get a more accurate idea of what is readily available. If this is something people want, I could make a copy with the automatic pokemmohub price feed, though. Edited Thursday at 01:51 AM by Lilyrain
ColesNightfill Posted Thursday at 02:30 AM Posted Thursday at 02:30 AM No problem at all, it was merely a suggestion in case you wanted it. You're right in saying that it will use the lowest price of a listing, with a snapshot of the gtl every 6 hours. However there are solutions to calc an average, for example, we can return the lowest price listing of the last 28 snapshots (so that would be the last 7 days), and we just average out the lowest prices and return the average price of the lowest listing for the last week. Your berry sheet is amazing as is, and very informative 😋 , the automatic price update with our api would be negligible anyways

So, as you can guess, I decided to add the pokemmohub prices as a togglable option, so it's there if you want it folks o7 Right now I'm using only the most recent numbers polled from the hub, but I might/will probably change it to be the average of the last 7 days. Edit: I have made it so. ColesNightfill coming in clutch 🙏 Edited Thursday at 07:08 AM by Lilyrain ColesNightfill 1
Lilyrain Posted Thursday at 09:20 PM Author Posted Thursday at 09:20 PM You can now bypass GTL fees as well. It has been brought to my attention that some people like to sell Leppa seed bundles directly in trade chat.
Lilyrain Posted Saturday at 07:37 AM Author Posted Saturday at 07:37 AM I've been thinking of a way to show that planting Aguav/Mago berries is actually more profitable than selling their Very Bitter/Sweet Seeds on GTL if you already have them anyway. I think I've done the math correctly. I noticed that for every 2 15-day cycles with the Standard Farm, you would generate enough seeds to operate the Alt. Farm for 3 9-day cycles. So just smashed the tables together. Pretty neat that it works out so cleanly. Tl;dr: There's a new table for a hybrid Leppa farm that uses the Very Seeds for more profit than the standard farming method.
