Disappointment with the Game and the 2024 Halloween Event

Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed. I have three active accounts in the game, and I worked hard to do the raids on all of them. Scolipede is especially ridiculous, not to mention the BUGS in the raids and the boss. But I did it, with my friends and I all engaged, staying up all night to keep up with the event and make the most of it, hoping that the reward would be at least somewhat interesting. But what we received was a nerfed Darkrai.

I understand that it might be overpowered in PvP, but limiting it to 1 hour? What kind of nonsense is that?! The game rarely implements anything for the community, and in a whole year, I only saw something happening now, and this is how it ended?!

Honestly, if they weren't going to implement it well, they shouldn't have added Darkrai to the game! There are still tons of Pokémon lacking Hidden Abilities—why not focus on that instead? What's the justification for this?! They nerfed various things in the game, and okay, the community is even willing to adapt. Is it frustrating? Yes! But the community even agrees to accept and adapt, but when it’s time to give back to the community that keeps this game going, they do this?!

I can’t even imagine what farming will be like after this event; it’s just not worth it. We keep the game active all year, keeping our communities engaged to keep it alive. WE, in our teams, run our own events all year long to encourage players to stay active, and this is what we get in return? I’m disappointed!

In summary, the community dedicated itself intensely to the Halloween event, facing challenging raids and bugs, hoping for a meaningful reward. However, the outcome was disappointing, with Darkrai being limited to 1 hour of use. The decision to nerf the Pokémon and other frustrating changes led to discontent, especially since the community remains active and engaged throughout the year. Feeling undervalued, the community questions the lack of recognition for its ongoing support of the game.

Might in the future they Will extend the time of those broken Legends, sad we csnt keep Darkrai Forever (its One of my favorite legendaries in game) but thats s good choice from devs anyway.

That can be a good implementation of broken Legends and maybe in future we can play stuff like groudon Kyogre reshiram etc as temporary Legends. Only way we can Hope Just an extended time for one team each week.

About h.a id agree id was hoping a new couple ones, but Hey we Got absol golurks scolipede and galvantula, Better than nothing!

Still waiting for alakazam

Well, the way to be an adult (which I'm working really hard on at the moment) is to say, hey here's the argument from my point of view. I appreciate it's objectively wrong in certain ways, but here's how I feel about it. There's a thin line between espousing an agenda, and offering actual feedback to push things forwards.

Truth is, I don't know why I don't like how things are. Fundamentally, I have Darkrai and I'm happy about that.

  • I wouldn't and don't use Darkrai any more than the summoning of it allows me to. I've never gotten to the end of the cooldown and been annoyed/frustrated that the cooldown was over
  • Darkrai is one of my favourite Pokemon but if I needed dark coverage, I would still use Hydreigon (special) or Moxie Krook (physical)
  • It's not a flex source, if everyone has one. Posting the 6x15 Eevee from Celadon isn't a flex, neither is this
  • The whole process to achieve it, the buzz and the rumours in Global and all of that, made it a genuinely exciting place and that can't possibly hurt the game
  • I don't play PvP and haven't considered the ramifications of it going into there, and can't say for sure if it would be a help or a hindrance but maybe introducing stacks of Pokemon that can't be used in half of the game isn't so great for the others that do play it

It's mostly just disappointment versus expectations I suppose. My brain works differently, achieving something (and the happy buttons it pushes) doesn't have the same effect it might for others.

  • I find it a little frustrating that there are so many unique rules to having legendaries now (Zekrom chilling in your house, outright ownership of the birds/cats, KotH rules, flat out not being available at all at the end of certain stories in any capacity, Darkrai now) and I don't know if uniqueness for uniqueness' sake is particularly useful to anyone. It introduces more clutter, mostly and is just going to be another item a newbie joining in two years won't understand
  • I don't feel like I own Darkrai. This is OK, nobody said I would/should, but I get a slightly uneasy feeling from it and, in the interest of establishing my own identity and figuring out how to play the way I want to that day, I want to risk coming across as a bit dramatic by saying that I would rather have Darkrai chilling in my bedroom with Zekrom than it being off to the side in its own mechanic. If it's not mine, it's not mine. It's like I'm holding a Pokemon for a friend at the moment

It shouldn't need saying, the event was fantastic too and thanks for the new hatch location ❤️

I find it unfortunate to settle for so little; all these new abilities, in practical terms, have zero impact on the game. If the raids rewarded with Hidden Abilities that actually have relevance, I wouldn’t even complain – after all, the challenge would be worth it. The developers could have rewarded us with exclusive cosmetics, impactful abilities, or even an exclusive event shiny, and that would make me happy. But a Pokémon limited to just one hour? I really didn’t like it, but I think it’s a matter of perspective. Some people like it and think it’s great, and that’s okay, but for me, it was a bucket of cold water.

I agree with you on this feeling of strangeness, but for me, it borders on frustration. In any case, it's interesting to be able to hatch a Pokémon in a new location, although it practically means nothing—it’s just a small piece of everything that could have been and wasn’t.

If the raids become permanent, I still have hope to see something useful come from them. But if not, I’m really discouraged from continuing to play. Farming all year only to feel cheated isn’t something I’d want to go through again.

Just let people have their legendaries. I don't care anymore if Rayquaza is 1 of a kind or not.

I'm not stopping anyone from anything, and my comment isn't about that. I was simply sharing my experience and frustration. Don't create strawman arguments, as that’s intellectual dishonesty.

Personal touhgt, i think they balanced very well the kids and candies farm, the swarms quest is a good add and the raids were challenling, the only thing i think is a little desapointmet it's the darkrai.

have you tried putting darkai at level 100 in your team and doing the raid?
