VadimEmpoleon Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 Spooky Candy and Special Candy Pumpkin Mini Boss requesting a Spooky Candy to fight it was a really good move to make Kids useful again. Wisps Wisps were a fun feature the first time they were introduced but now they are not very interesting, those alphas lost a lot of value and now it's easier to just buy them from GTL. I'd suggest adding a seasonal particle to the alphas you get from wisps to motivate players again. Pumpcat Kitsune's Mask is a very cool vanity and finding Pumpcat is fun. The thing that I dislike about it is that hints are the same for multiple locations and very generic, it would be funnier if hints were more specific. It would also be nice if the Alpha Zorua you get had a seasonal particle. New Hidden Abilities We got some new HAs from raids. The issue I see with the way they were introduced is that there is no other way of getting a mon with its respective HA other than winning the raid that granted them and it is only one HA mon per character, the same issue happened in last LNY event. For example, we could get HA Drilbur while looking for Zodiac Tablets when it was introduced for the first time but we had no way of getting a Drilbur with its HA other than getting the Alpha Excadrill the next year. Mysterious Dusk Balls They made swarms much more interesting but I'd rather have seasonal mysterious balls for Halloween than time limited ones, being able to get any Halloween themed pokémon from them would be much more interesting. I also think Mysterious Dusk Balls would be the perfect way of fixing the problem I described above about hidden abilities by introducing HA Venipede, Vullaby, etc. as a possible reward from opening one of those mysterious balls but this would of course only work as long as they are a seasonal item and not time limited. Vanities I personally liked every single vanity from this event. Goodie Bags and Pumpking Goodie Bags I suggest adding a list of every single drop from them and the chance of getting it. Many games do this and I actually don't see any reason for not doing it, having information is better than not having it and while the playerbase can get information about the drops they can't get an accurate percentage of getting them. Pumpking I like it more this year because it didn't change from last year. I personally don't have fun breeding, leveling, changing movesets, etc. for it every year. I'd suggest keeping Pumpking the way it is for future years or do minimal changes to it if needed. I think it makes more sense for raids to be the feature that encourages players to create new strategies rather than Pumpking, raids are a thing that you do once per character so creating a strategy for it is actually fun and rewarding but creating a strategy for Pumpking is just an annoyance from my point of view since what you want from Pumpking is farm it multiple times. Raids I like that raids involve strategy and have some difficulty, afterall we need some endgame content. I can't deny though that in the current game state raids are for a minor percentage of the playerbase, it's true that you don't need perfect ivs for raids but you still need leveled up mons with the right moveset and sometimes EVs, this consumes time and money but making it more accesible to everyone is a dev's choice. If something was done I don't think the raids themselves should be easier but they way of getting the necessary tools for them, for example the level cap can be reduced or TM BP shops can be added. Darkrai Awful. It makes no sense at all releasing Darkrai this way. When it comes to PvP releasing it this way or in a normal way would make no difference, it is still Ubers this way so yes, we got an Uber pokémon which is exactly the dev team didn't want to do. When it comes to PvE it is definitely a very good mon for PvE but it's not that broken to not release it in a normal way, its role is similar to Hydreigon but since it has more attack and more speed it's better in some situations, while in other ones Hydreigon will still be the prefered mon due to Levitate and other differences. And regardless of it being broken or not you could simply ban all legendaries from some PvE instances like in the original games. Also, this way you can only get Darkrai during Halloween which makes it completely unavailable for players who don't have in any other time of the year since you can't trade it. I thought devs didn't want to give an advantage to some players because of having a certain mon that's hard to get/can only be obtained during a certain time of the year, guess there is a contradiction, again. The most exciting part about a pokémon game is to get every single pokémon but this ruined it completely, all we can get is a summoning item, it is very disappointing and I'd rather have nothing than this. The worst part is that we will be getting more legendaries this way so more legendaries will be ruined. All I can say to the dev team about this is enjoy coding more bad features. Overall I found the event pretty good and one of the best Halloween events except for the way Darkrai was released which is by far the worst feature I've seen in this game and in any game. kenjimAd, Razachu, Psarilaos and 3 others 5 1
MrAuraelius Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 I completely agree. The only thing I didn't enjoy at all was the Darkrai implementation (awful) and the "seasonal" items. (why not make them just for this Halloween 2024?) Vincenzolino 1
