Posted July 5Jul 5 I've played other games where they created different worlds with different speed of progression in the game to suit the kind of experience the player wants. Along those lines, I was thinking why we cannot have the same thing here in PokeMMO, to allow the player to choose the way he wants to experience the game. For example: World 1 : It would be the one we current have.World 2: It can be a world where we get half of the money we currently get from farming gyms and better shiny rates. Shiny rate = 1/15k Other factors could be multiplied by 2 or divided by 2 in order to keep the market somehow stable. I'm quite sure this world would be well-received by many players who play at most 1 or 2 hours per day. Moreover, we can add something like a shiny dex as a final goal to achieve for the player, since the odds are way more reasonable.World 3: Shiny rate = 1/45k and breeding non-OT shinies becomes an OT-shiny To be honest i dont know which kind of player would choose this , but I pretty sure those players that want to feel that their shiny pokemons are special, probably would choose this world. Some people would think that implementing this would be very expensive and probably it would hurt the amount of active players in a world, but I believe that giving the option to the player of choosing how to experience the game is pretty important. Moreover, at the moment the game doesn't have too many active players, and probably giving this option would boost the amount of players.Important: There cannot be any interaction between characters of different worlds. To avoid one market affecting another. Moreover, I would like to see how the market achieves a new equilibrium by changing the most important constants in the game.Well, I hope the Devs can take into consideration this non-original idea.
July 5Jul 5 I'll give you a few reasons why this will never work. (Not to burst your bubble)PokeMMO has 1 server with a decent population but definitely not big enough for the likes of this. Dividing it into 2 or 3 "worlds" would fragment player traffic. The game thrives on the Global Trade Link (GTL) marketplace. If separated, each instance would suffer from thinner listings, price volatility, and weaker demand because fewer participants = less stable prices.Maintenance nightmareMatchmaking QueuesEvent SchedulesEconomic BalancingBug Fixes and Content UpdatesThe staff / developer team simply ain't big enough to handle all that.Maybe use your wishing stones and it might work.

I think it would be a great way to cater for players on both spectrums, extreme hardcore players as well as casuals. Unfortunately it will never happen. Reasons:- It means more work (more coding, BUGS, testing,) . The dev team by their own admission is quite small and is over worked as is and we only have one world.- Segmenting their own playerbase makes for a less interactive game. The majority of pokemmo's activities are entirely player driven and some of them like pvp (nu/uu/dubs) are so player starved they frequently struggle to fill +75% player slots for tournaments.- Essentially cost twice as much money to host fewer players. They say this is a passion project but losing money doesnt help its longevity. The closest we have ever gotten to your suggestion was Public Test Servers. Those were quite fun but they were only temporary and were done prior to release of regions.
