Hyouka is a light mystery anime. Another (that's the title) is slightly horror but not the best ever anime ever. Ranpo Kitan is mystery/horror too (also not amazing but I watched it all and enjoyed it). If you end up enjoying Madoka and like magical girls I recommend Yuuki Yuuna as well, it has a twist like Madoka does. 

 

Shiki is a good thriller/horror but it's not short (2 cours I believe), and Shinsekai Yori is another good option but also is not short. I'm not 100% positive you'll like Shinsekai Yori but it does have some really interesting things going on.

You'll probably like "Erased". It gives a similar vibe as Steins;Gate. "Darker than Black" might fit too.

Did you like how Erased turned out? 

No I hated it personally. But I hear there are a lot of people that still liked the ending. I think the first 7 episodes were pretty good.

For some reason I put off watching Death Note for years and just watched it a couple months ago. I understand what all my friends in 6th grade were so hyped up about now.

 

L was definitely the best part of that show.

Gosick bookwormish girl with the power to put facts together pairs up with a guy to solve mysteries. Some Romance.

UNGO, MC's sidekick has the power of compelling anyone to answer one question correctly. MC is okayish.

Dusk maiden of amnesia,love story between a ghost and a guy. Ecchi

Another, will make you jump at the end if no one has spoiled it for you.

Thank you so much guys! So many suggestions! It will take me a while to decide what to watch next, but I'm happy I'll have some long queue of things to watch. :)

 

Btw, I don't mind the anime being longer than 12 ep. ;) I just have the sort of feeling that if the story is 50ep+ it usually contains a lot of fillers.

 

Actually I watched the Erased/Boku dake ga inai machi recently too. The way the story progressed was awesome and I really enjoyed watching it up until last two episodes or so..  but the ending was bad imo.

I wished all the time that the bad guy wouldnt be the most obvious person and the reasoning behind their crimes was just meh.

 

I'm not sure if it's ok to derail the anime topic but... GoT sooooon anyone hyped ? :D
