Lunar New Year Charm FAQs

With the Lunar New Year event there was a new type of consumable added to the game in the form of Charms.
Since these are brand new in terms of their effects I will be explaining what they do here in order to help remove some confusion / misinformation surrounding them here.

 

What is a Charm and what do they do?

  • Charms are consumable items that can be activated to grant a bonus of some form for their duration.
  • A Charm's duration will pause while you are logged out of the game, when taking a break during use simply log out to maintain their duration.
  • Charms give lower-strength versions of their bonuses to players in a Link with the user of a Charm.
  • All of the current charms added with the Lunar New Year event last one hour.
  • If you would be affected by multiple versions of the same Charm category (e.g. EXP) only the strongest one will effect you.


There are currently four categories of charms in the game, which are:

  • EXP Charm
  • Riches Charm
  • Item Magnet Charm
  • Shiny Charm

 

EXP Charm
The EXP Charm will increase the amount of Experience Pokemon in your party obtain, and stacks in an additive manner with other sources.

 

Riches Charm
The Riches Charm will increase the Pokeyen you receive from Trainer battles, and stacks in a multiplicative manner with other sources.

 

Item Magnet Charm
The Item Magnet Charm will increase the chances of you finding an item after battles against wild Pokemon, such as random Repels or Pokeballs etc.
This Charm also increases the chance of a Pokemon finding an item through the ability Pickup.
 

Shiny Charm
The Shiny Charm increases the chances of you encountering a Shiny Pokemon and stacks with other effects which influence this rate.
For examples of how this percentage increase would change the rates numerically here are some calculations for those interested:

 


If we were to assume that in PokeMMO 1/30,000 is the Shiny Rate then...

Normal Rate: 1/30,000 = 0.00003333333 (0.0033% chance with rounding to 4 decimal places)
Just Shiny Charm: (1 (base rate) x 1.1 (Shiny Charm 10%)) / 30,000 = 0.00003666666 (0.0037% chance with rounding)
Just Donator Status: (1 (base rate) x 1.1 (Donator Status 10%)) / 30,000 = 0.00003666666 (0.0037% chance with rounding)
Just Shared Shiny Charm via Link: (1 (base rate) x 1.05 (Shared Shiny Charm 5%)) / 30,000 = 0.000035 (0.0035% chance)
Shiny Charm + Donator Status: (1 (base rate) x 1.1 (Shiny Charm 10%) x 1.1 (Donator Status 10%)) / 30,000 = 0.00004033333 (0.004% chance with rounding)
Shared Shiny Charm + Donator Status: (1 (base rate) x 1.05 (Shared Shiny Charm 5%) x 1.1 (Donator Status 10%)) / 30,000 = 0.0000385 (0.0039% chance with rounding)

This means on AVERAGE the number of pokemon you would need to encounter to find a shiny would be:
Normal: 30000
Shiny Charm (10%): 27000
Donator Status (10%): 27000
Shared Shiny Charm (5%) + Donator Status (10%): 25650
Shiny Charm (10%) + Donator Status (10%): 24300

这意味着要找到一只闪光,你平均需要遭遇的宝可梦数量为:

Con el evento del Año Nuevo Lunar, hay un nuevo tipo de objeto consumible agregado al juego en forma de Charms (o encantamientos). Ya que estos son nuevos en cuanto a sus efectos, explicaré aquí lo que hacen para ayudar a eliminar cierta confusión/información errónea que los rodea.

¿Qué es Charm (Encantamiento) y qué hacen?

 

  • -Los Charm (Encantamientos) son artículos consumibles que se pueden activar para otorgar algún tipo de bonificación por un tiempo determinado.
  • -La duración de estos Encantamientos se pausará cuando te desconectes del juego, si quieres tomar un descanso simplemente puedes cerrar tu sesión y mantener la duración del objeto.
  • -Los Charms (Encantamientos) otorgarán versiones con menor fuerza a los jugadores que estén en un link con el usuario que active el Charm (Encantamiento)
  • -Todos los Charms (Encantamientos) actuales agregados con el evento del Año Nuevo Lunar duran una hora.
  • -Si tú eres afectado por multiples versiones de Charms (Encantamientos) de la misma categoría (Ejemplo: Exp) sólo el más fuerte te afectará.

 

Actualmente hay cuatro categorías de charms (encantamientos) en el juego, los cuales son:

 

-EXP Charm (Encantamiento de experiencia)

-Riches Charm (Encantamiento de riquezas)

-Item Magnet Charm (Encantamiento de Imán de objetos)

-Shiny Charm (Encantamiento de Shiny/Variocolor)

 

EXP Charm (Encantamiento de experiencia)

Éste encantamiento incrementará la cantidad de experiencia obtenida por los Pokémon en tu equipo, además se acumulará y sumará con otras fuentes de efectos similares.

Riches Charm

(Encantamiento de riquezas) Éste encantamiento incrementará los Pokeyenes que recibas de batallas contra entrenadores, además se acumulará y sumará con otras fuentes de efectos similares.

Item Magnet Charm

(Encantamiento de imán de objetos) Éste encantamiento incrementará las chances de que encuentres un objeto después de una batalla contra Pokémon salvajes, como repelentes o pokeballs, etc. Éste hechizo también aumenta la posibilidad de que un Pokémon con la habilidad Recogida encuentre un objeto.

Shiny Charm

(Encantamiento de shiny/variocolor) Éste encantamiento incrementará las posibilidades de encontrar un Pokémon shiny/variocolor y se acumula con otros efectos que afecten este porcentaje. Para ver ejemplos de cómo variarán los porcentajes, hay algunos cálculos aquí para los interesados:

Avec le recent événement du Nouvel An Lunaire a été ajouté un nouveau type d'objet consommable que sont les Charms.

Etant donné qu'il s'agit d'une toute nouvelle mécanique,  je vais expliquer en détail quels sont leurs effets afin d'ôter certaines confusion / désinformation les concernant.

 

Qu'est ce qu'un Charm et qu'est ce que ça fait?

  • Les Charms sont des objets consommables qui octroient un bonus divers pour une certaine durée.
  • La durée de l'effet se met en pause lorsque le joueur se déconnecte, pour prendre une pause sans user ses effets, déconnectez vous tout simplement afin de préserver leur durée.
  • Les Charms donnent un effet amoindri aux joueurs étant en lien avec des joueurs utilisant un Charm.
  • La durée d'un Charm s'étant à une heure.
  • Si vous êtes affecté par plusieurs bonus d'un Charm de même catégorie (exemple: Charm EXP), seul l'effet le plus fort vous sera octroyé.


Il y a actuellement quatre catégories de Charms dans le jeu, lesquelles sont:

  • EXP Charm (Boost l'Expérience gagnée)
  • Riches Charm (Boost l'Argent donné par les dresseurs vaincus)
  • Item Magnet Charm (Boost les chances de trouver un objet après avoir vaincu un Pokémon sauvage)
  • Shiny Charm (Boost les chances de rencontrer un Pokémon sauvage Shiny/Chromatique)

 

EXP Charm
L'EXP Charm augmente l'Expérience que les Pokémon dans votre équipe gagnent, et peut se cumuler de manière additive avec les autres effets.

 

Riches Charm
Le Riches Charm augmente les Pokeyen que vous recevez des combats de Dresseurs, et peut se cumuler de manière multiplicativeavec les autres effets.

 

Item Magnet Charm
L'Item Magnet Charm augmente les chances de trouver un objet après avoir vaincu un Pokémon sauvage, tels que des Repousses, Pokéballs, etc... Ce Charm augmente également l'efficacité du Talent Ramassage.

 

Shiny Charm
Le Shiny Charm augment les chances de rencontrer un Pokémon sauvage Shiny (ou Chromatique) et se cumule avec les autres effets augmentant lesdites chances.

Un exemple de comment l'augmentation du pourcentage influence les chances numériquement pour ceux que ça intéresse:

Com o evento do Ano Novo Lunar, um novo tipo de item consumível foi adicionado na forma de Encantamentos.
Como eles são items novos em termos de efeitos, eu vou explicar o que eles fazem aqui para ajudar a esclarecer possíveis dúvidas sobre eles.

 

O que é um Encantamento e o que ele faz?

  • Encantamentos são itens consumíveis que podem ser ativados para garantir um bônus de alguma coisa durante o tempo em que estão ativos.
  • O tempo restante de um Encantamento vai pausar quando você não estiver online no jogo, quando quiser fazer uma pausa faça o logout para manter o efeito.
  • Encantamentos dão bônus em menor escala para players em link com o usuário.
  • Todos os Encantamentos adicionados com o evento de Ano Novo Lunar duram 1 hora.
  • Se você está sendo afetado por mais de um efeito do mesmo tipo (bônus de exp por exemplo), somente o efeito mais forte irá funcionar.

 

Atualmente temos 4 tipos de Encantamentos no jogo, que são:

  • Encantamento de Exp (EXP Charm)
  • Encantamento dos Ricos (Riches Charm)
  • Encantamento Magnético de Itens (Item Magnet Charm)
  • Encantamento de Shiny (Shiny Charm)

 

Encantamento de Exp
Aumenta a experiência que os pokemons presentes em seu time ganham, também soma com outros bônus de exp de outros itens.

 

Riches Charm
Aumenta a quantidade de Pokeyen que você recebe ao lutar com treinadores, também acumula com outros bônus de outros itens.

 

Item Magnet Charm
Aumenta as chance de você encontrar um item após batalhas com pokemons selvagens, como pokebolas, repelentes etc. Também aumenta a chance de um pokemon achar um item com a habilidade Pickup.
 

Shiny Charm
Aumenta a chance de encontrar um pokemon shiny e acumula com outros efeitos que influenciam essa probabilidade.
Para os interessados, aqui tem alguns exemplos de cálculos de como essa probabilidade será afetada por esse Encantamento:

@Matoka, I think the most important question we need answered is how are these going to be distributed in the future (if at all)? Are they new event-only items or are they limited to this one event? Or could they be every year at the CN new year (seasonal)? The items themselves don't say if they're limited, event or seasonal, as the new particles and vanities do.

If they can't answer it, it's very likely that they don't know themselves yet.

Since it's a debut for these mechanics, I reckon they would like to see how they affect the game before deciding on continuing.

They could have at least told me that instead of leaving me in limbo, at least before closing that thread up. I don't know what's so hard about telling people the truth instead of dodging a question because they think the answer should be kept as secret as a social security number; even if they get heat, they can handle that with ease. It's not like we can touch them anyways, because they can do almost whatever they want.

My apologies, I indeed did not answer your question on the previous thread because I simply did not know the answer to it. How/if the Shiny Charms (and other ones) are distributed in future is the decision of the developers and is not something that I personally have the answer to. Have a good day.

This type of item and it's effects have a lot of potential. However, I do believe that they should only be distributed during events. That is just my thoughts on the matter, this thread is quite old yet my curiosity for what the devs might do with this item is still strong.

@Matoka, do you have a calculation for the item magnet charm aswell? me and a friend would be interested in how much it incresed the random drop rate and the pickup drop rate exactly. :) im guessing it adds a 25% bonus onto the common 10% chance so it will be like 12,5% chance then am i right ?

To be clear for myself and others, if you are yourself are using a Shiny Charm, you cannot get an additional 5% shared link boost from another player on top of that?

To be even more specific, it would be a waste of time for 4 players to all buy shiny charms, link together and share their 5% (stacking), right?

Correct, you receive only the highest boost (which is from your own charm).

  • If you would be affected by multiple versions of the same Charm category (e.g. EXP) only the strongest one will effect you.

Sólo con Shiny Charm (Encantamiento de shiny/variocolor): (1 (ratio base) x 1.1 (Shiny charm 10%)) / 30,000 = 0.00003666666 (0.0037% de probabilidades redondeado)


Sólo con Estado donador: (1 (ratio base) x 1.1 (Estado donador 10%)) / 30,000 = 0.00003666666 (0.0037% de probabilidades redondeado)

 

Sólo Shiny Charm por link: (1 (ratio base x 1.05 (Shiny charm compartido 5%)) / 30,000 = 0.000035 (0.0035% de probabilidades)

 

Shiny Charm + Estado donador: (1 (ratio base) x 1.1 (Shiny Charm 10%) x 1.1 (Estado donador 10%)) / 30,000 = 0.00004033333 (0,004% de probabilidades redondeado)

Avec le recent événement du Nouvel An Lunaire a été ajouté un nouveau type d'objet consommable que sont les Charms.

Etant donné qu'il s'agit d'une toute nouvelle mécanique,  je vais expliquer en détail quels sont leurs effets afin d'ôter certaines confusion / désinformation les concernant.

 

Qu'est ce qu'un Charm et qu'est ce que ça fait?

  • Les Charms sont des objets consommables qui octroient un bonus divers pour une certaine durée.
  • La durée de l'effet se met en pause lorsque le joueur se déconnecte, pour prendre une pause sans user ses effets, déconnectez vous tout simplement afin de préserver leur durée.
  • Les Charms donnent un effet amoindri aux joueurs étant en lien avec des joueurs utilisant un Charm.
  • La durée d'un Charm s'étant à une heure.
  • Si vous êtes affecté par plusieurs bonus d'un Charm de même catégorie (exemple: Charm EXP), seul l'effet le plus fort vous sera octroyé.


Il y a actuellement quatre catégories de Charms dans le jeu, lesquelles sont:

  • EXP Charm (Boost l'Expérience gagnée)
  • Riches Charm (Boost l'Argent donné par les dresseurs vaincus)
  • Item Magnet Charm (Boost les chances de trouver un objet après avoir vaincu un Pokémon sauvage)
  • Shiny Charm (Boost les chances de rencontrer un Pokémon sauvage Shiny/Chromatique)

 

EXP Charm
L'EXP Charm augmente l'Expérience que les Pokémon dans votre équipe gagnent, et peut se cumuler de manière additive avec les autres effets.

 

Riches Charm
Le Riches Charm augmente les Pokeyen que vous recevez des combats de Dresseurs, et peut se cumuler de manière multiplicativeavec les autres effets.

 

Item Magnet Charm
L'Item Magnet Charm augmente les chances de trouver un objet après avoir vaincu un Pokémon sauvage, tels que des Repousses, Pokéballs, etc... Ce Charm augmente également l'efficacité du Talent Ramassage.

 

Shiny Charm
Le Shiny Charm augment les chances de rencontrer un Pokémon sauvage Shiny (ou Chromatique) et se cumule avec les autres effets augmentant lesdites chances.

Un exemple de comment l'augmentation du pourcentage influence les chances numériquement pour ceux que ça intéresse:

Si nous assumons que les chances de trouver un Shiny dans PokeMMO sont de 1/30 000, donc...

Chances normales: 1/30 000 = 0.00003333333 (0.0033% de chances avec un arrondi a 4 décimales.)

Shiny Charm + Status Donateur: (1 (Taux de base) x 1.1 (Shiny Charm 10%) x 1.1 (Status Donateur 10%)) / 30 000 = 0.00004033333 (0.004% de chances en arrondissant)
Shiny Charm Partagé + Status Donateur: (1 (Taux de base) x 1.05 (Shiny Charm Partagé 5%) x 1.1 (Status Donateur 10%)) / 30 000 = 0.0000385 (0.0039% de chances en arrondissant)

Cela signifie qu'en MOYENNE, le nombre de Pokémon que vous devrez rencontrer pour rencontrer un Shiny/Chromatique sera de:

Com o evento do Ano Novo Lunar, um novo tipo de item consumível foi adicionado na forma de Encantamentos.
Como eles são items novos em termos de efeitos, eu vou explicar o que eles fazem aqui para ajudar a esclarecer possíveis dúvidas sobre eles.

 

O que é um Encantamento e o que ele faz?

  • Encantamentos são itens consumíveis que podem ser ativados para garantir um bônus de alguma coisa durante o tempo em que estão ativos.
  • O tempo restante de um Encantamento vai pausar quando você não estiver online no jogo, quando quiser fazer uma pausa faça o logout para manter o efeito.
  • Encantamentos dão bônus em menor escala para players em link com o usuário.
  • Todos os Encantamentos adicionados com o evento de Ano Novo Lunar duram 1 hora.
  • Se você está sendo afetado por mais de um efeito do mesmo tipo (bônus de exp por exemplo), somente o efeito mais forte irá funcionar.

 

Atualmente temos 4 tipos de Encantamentos no jogo, que são:

  • Encantamento de Exp (EXP Charm)
  • Encantamento dos Ricos (Riches Charm)
  • Encantamento Magnético de Itens (Item Magnet Charm)
  • Encantamento de Shiny (Shiny Charm)

 

Encantamento de Exp
Aumenta a experiência que os pokemons presentes em seu time ganham, também soma com outros bônus de exp de outros itens.

 

Riches Charm
Aumenta a quantidade de Pokeyen que você recebe ao lutar com treinadores, também acumula com outros bônus de outros itens.

 

Item Magnet Charm
Aumenta as chance de você encontrar um item após batalhas com pokemons selvagens, como pokebolas, repelentes etc. Também aumenta a chance de um pokemon achar um item com a habilidade Pickup.
 

Shiny Charm
Aumenta a chance de encontrar um pokemon shiny e acumula com outros efeitos que influenciam essa probabilidade.
Para os interessados, aqui tem alguns exemplos de cálculos de como essa probabilidade será afetada por esse Encantamento:

Se assumirmos que no PokeMMO a probabilidade de encontrar um shiny é 1/30.000, então...

Isso significa que a MÉDIA do número de encontros que você precisaria para encontrar um shiny seria:
Normal: 30000

In Portuguese client, the Riches Charm are named Encantamento de Riqueza , not Encantamento dos Ricos

They could have told me that instead of leaving me hanging, at the very least before closing that thread. I'm not sure what's so difficult about telling people the truth instead of avoiding questions because they believe the answer should be kept as private as a social security number; even if they get chastised, they can handle it. We can't really touch them because they can do almost anything they want.
