Keybinds for A&B buttons locked on android?

I have the game on pc and android and my xbox controller works fine on pc, but when i try on android the game wont map the buttons unless its for a hotkey. I got a app to test the controller and all the buttons are registering to the phone, but for some unknown reason it will only register binds to hot keys not the actual important buttons to play like A and B. Ive connected the controller before loading the game, ive restarted the game after force closing the app in settings ive also tried to go into both "Control" and into each controller menu (xbox Series X, Xbox One S, Joycon L, Joycon R, and Joycon  L+R) none of them would allow any button to be mapped even the hotkeys like i could do in "Control". Also so people know ive also tried to use a controller overlay app on my phone as well, it worked for the D-pad but wasnt working for the A and B buttons either. So my question is, is the button mappings in the "Control" section supposed to be locked so i cant remap them? And if so, why cant i map any buttons when i try to map buttons under the specific "Xbox Controller" section? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
