#1 Donphan

Encounters :- 29,875

Date :- 25th November '23

My first ever shiny was Phanpy whilst I was looking for EV training spots around CANYON ENTRANCE on Kanto.

It wasn't my dream shiny by any means, but it was my first taste of the thrill of it and left me wanting more.

 

#2 Raichu

Encounters :- 37,500

Date :- 23rd December '23

Now that I had a taste for it and realized shinies were an actual real thing you could catch, it was time to decide what to work on.

Raichu is one of my favourite Pokemon and also one of my sons, so we decided a Pikachu horde hunt would be the task

Plus, you don't see many evolved into Raichu

For a large portion of the hunt we would use repels over the water and then sweet scent at the entrance of the POWER PLANT

Eventually sense kicked in and I managed to catch it using Leppas

Once caught, I decided to breed it up as a little Christmas treat.

We got extremely lucky with a couple of the breeds and so on Christmas Morning we hatched the final version in PALLET TOWN

 

#3 Arcanine

Encounters :- 75

Date :- 27th December '23

With some Leppas left over from Pikachu, I went to the POKEMON MANSION to have a look and see if i would enjoy the hunt for a Growlithe

It was only supposed to be a test run, and there stood the shiny in front of me on my mobile phone whilst waiting for a train at the train station.

 

#4 Alakazam

Encounters :- 14,050

Date :- 1st January '24

With the 20% increased shiny rates buff at my back, we managed to grab a 5x Horde Kadabra in CERULEAN CAVE before the events end

Evolved it into an Alakazam as it's one of my favourite shinies, just wish it had it's HA.

 

#5 Ditto

Encounters: - 30,560

Date :- 8th January '24

Simply catching dittos at Route 47 in Johto for egg breeding, and this one came up blue

It was my first single encounter shiny

 

#6 Dragonite

Encounters :- 3,400

Date :- 18th January '24

Yes that's right, we walked into DRAGON'S DEN, we threw some leppas around, and walked out of there with a 0 phase Dratini

 

#7 Nidoking

Encounters :- 55,015

Date : - 22nd February '24

Over a month between shiny #6-#7 and we have the stubbornness of Nidorino to thank for that.

With Route 15th being 'just about' close enough to make this a free hunt, we finally found our king.

 

#8 Gyarados

Encounters :- 44,290

Date :- 26th February '24

After 0 phasing on Dratini, I still wanted my red feeeesh. 

SOOTOPOLIS CITY being a free hunt for Magikarp we kept going until one came out Golden

 

#9 Azumarill

Encounters :- 922

Date :- 29th February '24

We've had a Christmas Morning shiny, a New Years Day shiny and so why not add a Leap Year shiny to the list

This was a single encounter hunt, but Marill came out shiny in a double encounter with a non-shiny Absol in the grass of Route 120.

I'd have given a lot to have swapped them over, but with 3 shinies in 11 days we can't complain

 

#10 Chandelure

Encounters :- 10,480

Date :- 2nd March '24

A Shiny Wars event has started and so we managed to get ourselves on the board with a Shiny Litwick.

I needed a flame body mon, and it just so happened to appear at the same moment as my football team scoring so it was a memorable double cheer!

 

#11 Tentacruel

Encounters :- 6,140

Date :- 6th March '24

Levelling up my Shaymin quickly. It'll be fine. I won't get stung

I got stung

 

#12 Parasect

Encounters :- 46,255

Date :- 13th March '24

This completes a run of 6 shinies caught in 20 days which is clearly my best run.

I really wanted Parasect as a shiny damp catcher mon with Aromatherapy for utility use in my party

 

#13 Rapidash

Encounters :- 3,651

Date :- 25th March '24

Single encounter hunting in the popular Route 210 spot in Sinnoh.

Whilst it's fair to say I would have preferred some of the other mons that populate that spot, a new shiny is a new shiny

 

#14 Ponyta

Encounters :- 37

Date :- 25th March '24

With only moments remaining on the shiny charm from shiny #13, i managed to get 36 encounters in before going back to the PC to show off my Shiny Ponyta

On the way back to the 210 location, I was installing a new theme for the game.

Upon log-in with the new theme active, my first encounter was another Shiny Ponyta, caught live on stream.
