I'm not convinced that the game modes we make for holidays are good enough to run for more than 10 days. They're usually shallow and repetitive, and I imagine they get old quickly once the meta is discovered. This is due to the way we use events as "feature incubators", where we test experimental designs to see how fun they are, or how our development cycles need to change.

We don't want them to overstay their welcome, nor do we really want to babysit the events as they run to make sure they stay "fresh" throughout their entire duration. That's why they're usually so short.

Contrary to what my lighthearted forums posts may tell you, we're not actually having fun by delaying everything until the last minute, and it is immensely stressful for everyone involved. The Christmas 2018 event was completed 30 minutes before we started building releases for it, and the level of polish should make it obvious how rushed it was.

Halloween was similar, due to the huge amount of unforeseen issues caused by porting events to Unova. This isn't really anyone's fault; the entire game basically got a rewrite for Gen 5 to be possible, and events aren't really cared about until we actually have to do them. It was in a similar situation for release, to where we were still tweaking stuff hours before its release.

So, if we're dropping an event on the same day as the holiday, it's because we made a mistake, and it took too long to make, for whatever reason. Sometimes we get too ambitious, sometimes things go wrong, but regardless, it's not intentional.

    johto confirmed

This event looks like a hasty release... So that I saw it adjusted several times after the release.

  2. When trying to catch a Magikarp / Horsea or other wild pokemon which have 33.3% catch rate using poke ball, if they are sleeping, the catch rate should be revised to 100%.

It used to be like this, but after the update, there is always a chance of catch failure when trying to catch in this situation

  3. On Android.

In battle, the background portion of the scene covers the components in front.

For example, when I use skill thief, I can't see the process of bag flying in the air because it was blocked by the background.

And the top of the particle effect is blocked by the background, too.

I keep hearing this, but has it ever been confirmed its exactly 1/30000?  I've heard people say its "around" 1/30000.  I've been wondering if its actually 1/32768.

Donator status as described if the shiny rate is 1/30000 would be is 1/27272.72- and higher ups will say  its 1/27000 when asked which isn't correct.  So I wonder if the actual shiny rate is similar.

These things are really weird, even I saw a player meet 2 shinies in a encounter with a group of wild pokemon.

I also saw a player escape from a battle with shiny but encounter a shiny again in the next battle.

Each encounter you face in the wild has a 1/30,000 chance to be shiny (1/27,000 with Donator status). There are no other influences that change the possibility of finding a shiny. Therefor to answer your question no, your RNG or Random Number Sequence is not effected by other players.

    Ok thanks.

I'm sorry but your question isn't clear, or well, I'm having trouble understanding it. But if you're wondering about how random number generation in this game works, the RNG for each independent instance is well, independent. Random number generation is programmed into the gameplay and is separately done for each time it needs to be used, otherwise it wouldn't really be fair, would it?

According to you, the player's random number sequence will not be affected by other players. Is it right?

Players get shiny Pokemon by frequently encountering wild Pokemon, so there is a view that if other players don't encounter shiny Pokemon for a long time, then the next time I meet Pokemon is the expectation of shiny will become higher.

My question is, will a random number sequence of a player be affected by other players?

  8. When talking to NPCs or Interacting with items, sometimes need to display an image, on the PC, the image displayed on the text, but on the Phone, the image is displayed in the wrong location.

In fact, on the phone, the picture is displayed outside the screen, so player can't see the picture.

  9. On Android.

When player's game lost connection when in battle, server will save his state and wait for his connect.

And when player relogin, client will ask whether reconnect, now if player not click "Yes" or "No" and click outside the prompt box area, the box will vanish and client will keep in logging state.

So player can't do anything and they must restart the game to relogin.

It should be a design mistake.

  10. On Android.

    1. Opening a chat window while the scene is switching may result in a black screen (UI still shows).

2.Chat window input box cursor positioning is incorrect.

If I want the cursor to be positioned somewhere
The more backward the cursor is positioned, the larger the deviation of the position I clicked.

3.When redeem prizes at celadon game corner, the prize redemption window display seems incorrect.

Ok, I hope this bug will be fixed in the future.

  13. It's about npc item trading system.

I tried to buy a rare candy from npc at pokemon center in Unova pokemon league, but whatever I have enough item or not, it always tell me item not enough.

    Could this be a mistake?
