  1. When you use the town map to fly it will normally automatically close after flying (Albeit sometimes with a small delay due to lag, but still will close). However if you're already in the town & fly to the same town (it's a little bit faster of a way to get to a pokemon center) the map window won't close automatically. It's not that big of a deal, but I did want to mention it for a more complete gameplay.

    How it is: If you fly to a town that you're already in, then the map won't close automatically.

    How it should be: Since flying to any other town closes the map, flying to the current town should also close the map after you arrive and load.

    I tested this for you, turns out if you unstuck out and get traded a pokemon you can manage just fine. I traded myself a Cacnea (Absorb & Leech Seed for first two gyms :D)

    I then went to challenge Gary outside Indigo League. Fighting rival leads to a battle against a level 6 Pidgey, Then a level 9 Charmander. I am unsure if this is due to Cacnea or coincidence.

    Though the weird thing is my poke simply healed and he walked away after the battle even though I lost against Charmander. I think the game doesn't expect him to have a starter, but he has one.

  3. Today I decided to fight with a Gengar catching a snorlax on a secondary character. I had used curse on the snorlax since I couldn't do good damage to snorlax. When I used curse on the same turn Snorlax used rest it caused Snorlax not to rest and instead simply take damage from the curse unfortunately causing the snorlax to faint. :(

    I then decided to take my Snorlax to Lavender Town Tower to test this out and was able to replicate it & it gets worse. I am unable to get my potion to work on Snorlax even though he only had low hp left (Only tried 1 item)

    How it is: Currently Curse if used on the same turn as rest causes rest to fail and any further attempt to use rest causes immediate damage. Also it does not allow items (Only tested with potion) to be used on the pokemon in question.

    How it should be: Curse should land it's curse, then the pokemon who uses Rest should start resting successfully although taking damage from curse at the end of turn. Also player should be able to use items obviously.

    Given my prior bug report regarding confusion/curse it makes me wonder if Curse and status moves have conflicting priorities?

  4. I was in a fight with a Ghastly using a ZubatI had dealt half it's hp in damage and the Ghastly had used confuse ray on me. Next turn Ghastly outsped me and used curse killing itself. After it's death the sprite remained on the screen as Zubat is still confused appeared and zubat damaged itself.

    How it is: When you are confused and the opponent uses curse killing themselves you still are able to damage yourself if you are confused.

    How it should be: When a pokemon with curse kills themself to use curse the battle should immediately terminate.

  6. Just because it's free doesn't mean it's legal. Technically it's a broadcast of copywritten infringement. Without paying royalties (7 cents per song and licencing fees in the hundreds) Whether they go after me is a diffrent concern, but with PokeMMO in it's legal grey area, I want to be safe, it's not quite fair use at that point.

    Some services will pay the fee, but their cheapest package with being able to play copywritten music (with the sucky Live365) is about 150/month so that's obviously out of my budget.

    I'm gonna hunt down some free music to play (stuff like Weird Al's You're Pitiful, or maybe some gaming remixes) and I need to buy a mic to do this, but I'm looking (If I don't get too busy with work) Maybe October 1st as a first test stream.

    Edit: I'm loving creative commons, non-commercial music. This could be fun :)

  7. Well I'm thinking that once I get paid, I'll experiment with the software, find a few songs that I don't have to worry about royalties for and try a beta 2 hour stream in game and see how it goes from there :) If it goes well they can become more frequent and more fun :)

  8. So I was thinking what some other games have and what PokeMMO doesn't and since I have too much on my plate as it is I was thinking of taking on more responsibilities.

    Given PokeMMO....doesn't have the largest soundtrack available I was thinking of us starting up an unofficial radio station geared around the PokeMMO community. (Something you'd pull up on winamp or something).

    I just wanted to bounce the idea around before pushing forward for anything official also wanted to see if anyone has any past experience with the area they are willing to share.

    Or perhaps this is a pie in the sky idea....

    I'm not talking about this being official (e.g. I am not saying this should be done by the CM's, mods, Desu, or whatever, I'm talking about a fan-made, and fan-run online radio station for PokeMMO.

I was thinking about this especially without the fully usable aspect of the game so far, I feel the game would work better and be easier to deal with from a coding standpoint to simply let the HM's be used as items (e.g. not having to teach it to a pokemon) given the prominence of HM slaves and everything, and the possibility of future expansions simply hotkey all the HM's to the 1-8 numbers. (0, -+, & ~ could be user programmed keys for abilities such as teleport, Dig, milk drink, etc.
