right now, there's very little players can do at all beside the main story and shiny hunting. sometimes there are events, there's also breeding too, but most of these options are tedious and cost a bunch.
it'd be very cool if there was like the bug catching contest added, pokemon contests and more. it's just incredibly boring with the lack of stuff to do.

most of those are grindy. i guess i prefer more leisurely things that don't require too much and is just fun
