Hello community. Allow me to present Scribblemon: A ROM patch for the distinguished trainer.
 
Like you, I detest the boring part of the game, and I think we both know what I'm talking about. Pokemon battle/summary sprites are the neglected middle child of the Pokemon art family. But no more! With a bucket of MS Paint and a bit of "let's do this, it might be lulzy" attitude RacheLucario and I have developed the perfect solution to your graphical concerns.
 
Completion
Everything that is obtainable in PokeMMO is now supported (front sprites flipped to serve as back sprites, for now). Yay!

Some species will appear in Trainer Tower that have not yet been prepared for Scribblemon. These will be done eventually.
 
FAQ
 
Is shininess supported?
Yes. Shinies have their own distinct palettes based on canon shiny colors.
 
How do you decide what to draw?
We were using a priority system based on how frequently each Pokemon would be seen by players. Now that all obtainables are supported we are probably going to just do whatever we damn well feel like.
 
When will more Pokemon be scribbled?
ETA: Eventually™
 
Are you for real?

Can I draw some Pokemon for you?
Not for this patch. It's nothing personal, we just want the art to be consistent.
 
 
NOTE: This is entirely unofficial. Do not be misled by the polish or professionalism of our art.
 
NOTE 2: Turn off DS Sprites.

An AFK indicator wouldn't be a good thing in my opinion, considering you're timed out after 15-30 minutes anyway. If you aren't going to be around, go into /dnd and leave a reason or just sign out. 
Before anyone suggests getting rid of the afk kick, think of the reason for it. It's to give the server more space (less players online). With that said, it's not going anywhere.
 
A typing indicator wouldn't be horrible; however, it would probably need a rewrite of how the entire chat system works, and I don't know if Shu/Desu is down for that.
 
I give the blocked indicator a +1 though. However, it isn't something essential, so it could be put off for all I care.

When this suggestion was proposed, the effect was immediate: We dropped everything. Trainer Tower, Reworks, Android, all out the window. We knew it was pertinent that we have this massive piece of content in the game as soon as possible.
 
4 days with little sleep, caused only by sugar comas, gave us our first prototype. It was gorgeous; Squats 'n Oats were paired for the heaviest of gains, and NPCs were truly aesthetic in a way never before seen. We truly admired our work, so we sat there, 'mirin.
 
Our core testers were given the build to test against, but only during this did we realise the flaws of our implementation: Things were simply too perfect. Too aesthetic. Our testers refused to leave the Dojo; They were only concerned with their characters' mad gainz. As their characters buffed up, the players' behaviour changed drastically, to where they refused to leave their chairs for even basic bodily functions. 
 
This prototype ended up sending one of our testers to the hospital where, due to a lack of Android support, they were unable to fulfill their newfound addiction. We understood that if this could destroy a tester's ability to perform basic societal functions to maintain their own existence, its effects would be compounded drastically on our younger male userbase. 
 
Unfortunately, we do not believe we will have a less addictive implementation in the future. With that noted, we apologise, but it would be rather bad for business for us to put this prototype on Live.

Pokemon X and Y have  considerably better looking icons than past games and all 400+ of them have been manually recoloured (and in some cases tweaked/improved) to fit with the limited palettes of previous generations (to be compatible with Fire Red/ PokeMMO).
