Edit: Also for the natures, do we catch one of each specified nature or both? for example," Kakuna Natures: Jolly and Careful" do we catch jolly and careful or just one of the two :/

Finishing up a degree to qualify as a researcher for the government in the department of education. It is as boring as it sounds.

The media wont publish things that they do not think their audience wont want to hear/read/see. Im from England so will use the example of British newspapers, each newspaper over here caters to a certain target market. The Daily Mail publishes a story with a spin on it that will engage their right wing readers, so most issues in society are caused by immigration according to them (go figure), whereas The Guardian is so liberal it hurts.

 

Media moguls didnt wake up one day and decide to be racially stereotypical in their publications, there had to be a reason or market for that. Racism outdates the media, long before we had access to it daily we had slavery, the holocaust, with a load of sexism and homophobia thrown in for good measure. If the media wasnt around to preach these beliefs to us then that means there was a different platform to instil these stereotypes into society. I suppose the point im trying to make is that mass media cant be given sole blame for the reason why we have racists, homophobes and sexists in todays society, which seems to be increasingly the case.
