  1. I don't recall ever trying to argue with anyone. Someone else here did, when he got butthurt over nothing, but I'm not even going to bother with that one anymore. Although, I might try looking into that idea mentioned earlier about getting the HG/SS soundtrack on to Fire Red and see what can be done.
  2. Yes, I did read what you said, but the first part you quoted was still directed at the second part of your post, where you were implying that I had said it had to be with mp3 files, which was not the case. I was simply pointing out that it didn't have to, and that even with any other type of format, it still wouldn't be possible to be properly converted. No need to get all butthurt over something like that. I obviously don't. In fact, if you read the very first words of the original post, you'll see just that. Hence why I made this suggestion, to find out if it would be possible or not. So, if something like this isn't really possible to be done at the moment, maybe sometime in the future, possibly if they decide to change to DS emulation? Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Not like this would be any high on the priority list, of course.
  3. Well, welcome to PokeMMO. Hope you're having a good time!
  4. I used the search function but I didn't find anything this. But I should have checked that thread first, sorry. At least the idea will be focused in greater detail here. And yes, it doesn't have to be mp3, as long as it is convertable without quality loss and java can read it. Wrong. It doesn't have to be mp3 files. Anyone with a bit of common sense would understand that what I'm pointing out is that you can't just turn something like the music I posted into a MIDI, and if you can't convert an mp3 into a MIDI, then you can't convert any other file type either. It's just not how it works. I spoke with a friend before making this thread, so let me explain. One would have to remake the whole music from scratch, by ear, to have said song as a MIDI file. And even then, music like the example I posted wouldn't work if patched into the rom because it has too many instruments, which the gba can't handle (therefore, probably not being able to patch it properly in the rom). You obviously aren't even trying because you didn't even understand what I suggested. The main idea is to have a directory inside the game folder where we could place the file(s), with the right file names, and then the client would load those, instead of loading the ones on the rom. Also, it's a suggestion, which other people seem to love so far. I'm not demanding anything, like you're pointlessly trying to make it seem. Yes. A GBA rom should not be able to handle music like that. However, I'm pretty sure Java can. If it isn't too much to ask though, it would be great if a dev could come here and state his/her opinion on the idea, and I'm also curious to know if it would be something hard to pull off or not.
  5. Thanks! Hopefully we can have this someday. You should have read the second paragraph.
  6. I was wondering if it would be possible to implement a support feature in the game's client that would allow you to make your own custom soundtrack for the game, using mp3 files. I was picturing there could be a folder where you would add the desired tracks with the respective name files (or all in one .pak file, is that works), so that the game would read them and play those instead of the ones in the rom. Patching the roms with those tracks won't work, because you would need a midi file for that (then later converted to an .s file), and it's not possible to properly convert an mp3 file to midi. Not to mention that the gba can't handle midis with too many instruments. In my opinion, having something like this playing while fighting a Gym Leader would be pretty awesome. So, this way, we could make our own cool music mods, and maybe share them with the rest of the community aswell (given that the person has permission, of course).
  7. I'm really looking forward to getting better at this, though. Then I'll be able to make and, hopefully, share new and better mods with you guys.
  8. I just made this topic, so no. And I don't see how it breaks the section's rules. I used a rombase (which I even gave credit for, and it is supposed to be used by others to create/edit the maps with it) to make this patch.
  9. Darkshade's looks indeed much better. I look up to him and his patch as it made me want to learn about modifying the game. In fact, you can't even compare both, since this is a very basic patch that doesn't change much. Unless you're referring to the color of the grass and trees. I guess that's just a personal taste. So let's not bring talk about other patches on here and keep on topic, please.
  10. The person who made this goes by the name of Lucario 9. I only take credit for fixing a few glitched tiles on several maps and remaking Pallet Town, which was all messed up. Hey, so I decided to start looking up on how to modify the game's tiles and whatnot, and after a while, I stumbled upon a very simple and basic rombase, which I proceeded to apply and edit until it was useable. What this patch does is mostly just change the flowers, trees, grass tiles and whatnot, making them brighter and more, well... greenish. I thought I could share this, for those who don't really want to change much in their games (or at least, for now). Screenshots: Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?g2z9qy1zgrilq30
