It includes all of the mons from Gen 3, no? I think you get what i meant. The new meta will include pokemon from gen 4. My suggestion is to keep the TC/ form a new TC for the meta that currently exists. Which will certainly be different from a new meta with 100 new mons.

Yeah im not saying to keep the bans around. I'm just saying to keep them around for a 3rd gen environment for those who wish to not use the new mons.

We should consider keeping/creating a TC for gen 3 once the new gen comes out. Its a shame to see all the hard work go to waste and there are still bans that could happen (looking at you chansey).

Im mainly basing it around the general amount of people you see online during holiday events. Like 1000 online at once max. As for non-hardcore players im sure it would be like 10,000 "casuals".

They've never released the numbers but id say like 1000 active members is pretty accurate.

Its easy to bully people now isnt it? Anyway.. As some of you know i have little to live for anyway. This game gave me hope and some reason to live many times. I have no friends, no family, im homeless and i have no money. This game is all i care about. Now that its going away and being replaced with shitty gen 4 I have nothing to live for. I understand you all hate me. I hate me. The world will be better off without me.

Minor changes like that arent comparable at all. Like i said before its like if blizzard automatically updated starcraft 1 to starcraft 2 and didnt allow people to play sc 1. Little buffs here and there and implementations of a couple new mons doesnt compare to an entire different gen. EDIT: As for the cost effective part they could just choose not to host it that month if they didnt get to the allotted goal.

well i think this change is much more drastic and could actually warrant the use of the separate server. As for the increase in staff. Thats what the money is for as well as bandwidth.

I accept this I guess. I honestly just viewed pokeMMO as a god-tier mod that allows you to play pokemon fire red version and emerald online. This is where the attachment is based i guess, in a sort of "upgraded emulation" type experience. A way to play these roms in a whole new way. That is the magic of it. The game was never meant to be an MMO in the first place. It has come so far adding to gen 3 and making it more and more fun. I appreciate the idea of gen 4 online too, but i guess i just have a personal bias to gen 3. I just wish both could exist independently instead of it just being forgotten and cast aside. Maybe two separate servers could work. Old and new like the PTS. Id donate myself to help it happen or start a patreon for it.

Regardless of the "intention". This is what is offered. You can't simply take away the core gameplay and replace it with another one. Once you do this it will become #NotMyMMO. We dont even know if we will like the new meta or not. Why take that risk? If it ain't broke don't fix it. Rule #1 in video-game development.

Ok so i misinterpreted what you said. Regardless my point is still there and you have failed to address it in your last 2 posts which simply called me out. Analogies aside: We dont need a new (old) region to pull new players. In fact, more people are likely to be drawn to play this game if it has something unique to offer. Such as gen 3 that is actually interesting and fun. If we update to gen 4 we might as well just play gen 4 on pokemon showdown.

Ok lets just ignore that pulling up to a girl and cat-calling them will get you anywhere for starters. Now that thats out of the way I can actually address your statement. Heres the thing: The car still runs. You didnt need the new car. And since you know the old car is of good build and quality (from having survived for so long) why take the gamble for a new car that you have no idea whether it is going to spontaneously combust or not. Your car was not broken. It got the job done. Instead of wasting all this time, money, and effort on buying a new car all you needed to do was buy a new body kit or add some new upgrades to the engine to keep it going (ie new MMO-based features). At the end of the day you simply cast aside your old car, one you grew to love. For one you may not actually grow to love as much. If you decide you miss it.... well thats too bad. You already sold it. Now you are stuck with a new car that very well may not be up to par of the same quality as the old one.

Heres what is happening: They are taking the game away and replacing it with a new one. We already know that we enjoy this meta and it is continuing to evolve and become more balanced. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Think about this in the context of any other MMO. Players come to MMO's for a certain experience. In this case its a crazy-ass mod that lets you play 3rd gen online. 3rd gen. There is no other fan-pokemon-mmo that provides this. For someone who likes third gen, this game is a god-send. Like @Bestfriends was saying. Many many players come here to experience 3rd gen online. Not 4th gen online. We dont oppose progress at all. In fact, I think about ways to benefit PokeMMO, as an MMO, all the time. So much more content is possible without ever adding a "new generation" of pokemon. Here are some examples: And this is only scratching the surface of what is possible. Keep the MMO Gen 3 and continue to add things on top of that to enhance online features and spice up gen 3 competitively with new items, moves, and legendaries. Calling adding Gen 4 "progress" if like if Blizzard updated Starcrafts 1's servers and client to Starcraft 2 with no option to play Starcraft 1 anymore. Do you see now how outrageous that is?

All of this pales in comparison to what MMO is (was?). 3rd gen with phys/spec split. 3rd gen with 4th gen items. 3rd gen with 6th gen mechanics. All of this will be lost forever and its truly saddening. A few extra moves on stuff doesnt really cut it for me.

What else could it mean? 5th gen? Like i said we can easily deduce with a 95% certainty that its gen 4. Unless they are going to add fake mons or pocket mortys. Honestly its pretty lame to be this "mysterious" about the update considering its such a drastic change. I understand its to build hype but still...

A small poll is not really indicitive of the whole communities opinion. Yeah but aren't you at least a little sad of an entire meta being cast aside? One that took 5 years to form and many have grown to love. Here's the thing: adding a new gen detracts from any other originality that was there. Phys/spec split, new items, new egg moves all become meaningless. This less "old and new" and just more "new". Besides every legendary and certain areas of the bf. Kyu said "new generation". Yeah... I'm not here to play gen 4. I'm pretty sure lots of other players aren't either. Looking through the suggestions and such there has never even been much calling from the community to even add gen 4. I really don't know what possessed them to do this but with you being on the TC and all... don't you feel like this diminishes all the hard work you guys have done within the tiers? And if we do have a "3rd gen only" option wouldn't this freeze or atleast slow the progression of the unique meta we currently have. Wouldn't this require two tier councils? I love Pokémmo as it is now. Gen 3 isn't even fully ported yet and there is masses of untapped potential for more MMO based features. If we added a hardcore mode or open wilderness this would make pokemmo make headlines like it used to.

Welp there goes almost everything this game had going for it. Our unique meta is over. Now we will basically be playing gen 4 on pokemon showdown in an mmo format. The ability to use 4th gen items in a 3rd gen environment is gone. This will leave players missing something that is no longer available (lets hope you guys allow us to create a private server or something...). Expect huge outrage and lots and lots of the hardcore players to leave. Even if you add an ability to use "3rd gen only" mons like someone else mentioned, thats gonna be like trying to enter NU matchmaking. On top of this we never even got to see a third gen meta with legendaries. We never got any dedicated custom pve or pvp areas. Really guys, this is too little too late. Nobody even likes 4th gen. It sucked and was 100% weather wars. All of the new mons also outclass many of the older ones. And with the new moves and sets many of our comps we have now will be useless or greatly hindered.
