  1. Probably because of either the breeding mechanics or boredom. Hoenn should fix the boredom, and the breeding mechanics.
  2. The real question is are you including the fact that this is an MMO, and that the original Pokemon games haven't really had a story? You don't play Runescape for the story, you play it for the gameplay. You've never been able to play a Pokemon MMO before of this quality. Ever. Give it a chance and consider everything before you go rushing out and declaring the game worthless. Also, jumpeon.
  3. God I remember hearing about that quest in the breakroom. I thought it was the dumbest thing ever.
  4. and dude I was typing this post out and then you posted this, +1 old runescape player o/ also lol @ RS3 I wasn't a player... I was a developer. I quit around 2008 cause I didn't agree with the next few years of plans they had.
  5. Suggestions for perks: Team Secret Bases (Like in Hoenn, each player can have a secret base, but setting aside an area for only teams to have secret bases could be very useful) RAPping (Rent-A-Poke allows you to call in a level 50 Eeveelution of your choice, but can only be used in NPC battles or wild encounters; although you'd really suck if you used it in a wild encounter; limit of once every 36 hours) Eon Ticket (For Hoenn; usable once per donation; allows for catching of a temporary Mew who, 48 hours after catching, will go into his own slot in the box and cannot be used until another donation) Shrek Hat (self explanatory, also is equivalent to love and life) Invisible items become visible for one week Again, just some thoughts from a newb. Take them as you will.
  6. Is it possible that the admins might have a trick up their sleeve? At Jagex we'd get tons of complaints, but then we'd actually put an update out into the open for people to try it and they'd usually like it. But don't blame me for the failures of RuneScape cause I left before that really got started
  7. I've worked on MMOs before in my day, and I've only had a server wipe once, and that wasn't something that affected the accounts of everyone. In theory, though, and based on what happened to the MMO I worked on, this is probably what would happen: Cons Server overload, due to many new players logging in because of the spread of news that PokeMMO is reborn New players complaining (as any admin or moderator of any website knows, every time you update something someone complains, but in the case of something this large, lots of players would disagree) Possible glitches due to wiping the server wrong (you may think it won't happen, but it does) Rebuilding the economy Players will leave Pros All players start out equally New players will join During server downtime, a chance to implement new features Rebuilding the economy (both a pro and a con; the economy is terrible to some and amazing to others) Give players a chance to reexperience the actual game instead of just breeding Pokemon and selling them I've just been here for two days, so take my list with a grain of salt.
