6th september update fixed the music issue for me. Thank you. Hope it fixed everyone's.

after further research and update log reading it all comes down to that one music track suposed to play at trainers battles in kanto. however a few music mods which are around the forums do fix this.

that was relatively fast. however even with a different rom the issue still persists.
might as well add a few other problems ive encountered so far.
one being the missing animation for several moves, but i believe thats a general well known thing and not a problem. there are also no sounds whatsoever for any move in the game but again i supose thats because the client is not fully developed yet.
another being the fact that most themes provided under the client customization section are currently not fully working. i supose this is due to the last update? if so then its not the clients fault but the community's for not updating their works (not implying that they should.)
lastly there are a few scripts missing but nothing major and the berry medicine NPC at cerulean if my memory serves me right is not recognizing any berry's possession.
apologies for the sudden burst of encountered issues but i felt i should have pointed these out too.

my rom is not modded at all. its in a clean state. i will indeed try a different one, please do give me a few moments. will need to ask a friend to borrow me a different one.

when i say loading i assume thats the reason. they simply do not play at all while the overworld and regular battle musics do.

Currently it seems the music files for both trainer and rival battles (at least in Kanto) are not loading at all, as well as when disablinng the midi sound engine no file is loaded whatsoever. A few others have reported this issue (?) already but with no answer. Thanks.

strangely enough, none of the patches seem to be working. no music is replaced except the battle vs traners one which for example with the bw patch plays the nimbassa city music instead.
