  2. This is a bit of a stretch, but I haven't played in a while, forgot I needed my meowth for pickup. I gave it a rare candy at level 100 and evolved it into a Persian. I was wondering if you could turn it back into a meowth, if not, it's fine.

It's the level 100 Persian with gentle nature in the corner in my PC box 1.

    -Phillup

  3. Just some quick insight not going to go too indepth.

Replace ice beam for recover/rapid spin on starmie, ice beam has pretty poor coverage in OU. Also consider rebreeding to timid/modest.

Definately replace crunch with flamethrower. If you are using hp electric the only coverage you are geting from crunch is vs espeon that isn't too common. If you were to use toxic you would replace hp electric, flamethrower (or another fire move) is an auto include.

Replace toxic on weezing with tbolt or sludge bomb. If you are using hp electric arca tbolt is less needed although still a really strong option.

The other sets seem fine although getting a hp elec cloyster would be nice if you replace hp elec on arca for toxic.

Your team is really stacked on physical defense and you have left yourself relatively weak in special defense. Venusaur is not a 'perfect' spdef wall in comparrison to its normal type counterparts where it can take heavy damage from things like modest starmie psychic, fire / ice moves and especially CM Espeon. You need to cover this weakness with and make a stronger spdef core.

    tyvm for the advice.

I'm already changing my team composition, Pikachu def doesn't cut it. Probably will look more like...

    Arcanine Relaxed

HP Electric, Overheat, Extreme Speed, Morning Sun

    Gyrados Jolly

    Dragon Dance, Waterfall, Crunch, Earthquake

    Venusaur Calm

Sludge Bomb, Synthesis, Giga Drain, Leech Seed

    Chansey Bold

    Toxic, Wish, Protect, Seismic Toss

    Slowbro Bold

Slack Off, Surf, Psychic, Calm Mind

    Metagross Adamant

Earthquake, Meteor Mash, Thunder Punch, Psychic

Spikes take too long to set up in my comp and Cloyster had too many weaknesses and Pikachu just gets 1 shot. Weezing is like my 3rd Phys wall so I opted for the obvious Spell wall Chansey instead.

  4. I dunno the ivs on Arcanine, but i'd run toxic instead of hp electric, to cripple water types, and flamethrower instead of crunch, which only works vs starmie, since slowbro doesnt take much dmg

31/31/31/24/31/31 for Arcanine. I'll consider swapping Flamethrower for Crunch. Thanks.

  5. weezing needs tbolt or sludge bomb, also running wow + toxic is pretty useless imo

Yeah, but I'd like to run Toxic on at least one of my Pokemon since I think PSN is pretty strong. Who can I run Toxic on? I guess I can have Sludge Bomb on both Weezing and Venusaur and hope to get lucky with the 30% PSN rate.

  6. OU Team

    Hasty Nature

    - Pain Split

    - Will-O-Wisp

    - Flamethrower

    - Toxic

(I'm not sure if having Toxic and W-o-W on Weezing would be ok? I'd like to have Toxic on Arcanine and Thunderbolt on Weezing but I figured HP Electric on Arcanine was too good to pass up.)

I can list Pokemon IVs as well if that'd help at all.

I'm new to competitive so any advice would be greatly appreciated. If you think any other movesets or held items would be a better choice, feel free to give your opinions. I'm also open to changing up the Pokemon in my team. (Will probably swap out Pikachu for a bulkier Phys Sweeper like Metagross.)

    Much appreciated. :)

  7. Thanks for all the advice, I'll drop Wish, Focus Punch, and Substitute for Brick Break, Fake Out and Extreme Speed.

I just thought the Substitute into Focus Punch combo would have been sweet to pull off lol.

Like I said, haven't done comp battling yet. Still building a team together.

  8. I was thinking ideally using Volt Tackle, Wish, Substitute (Wish Heal), Focus Punch. Not sure how that'd work in comp since I've never had a comp battle and just wanted opinions from more experienced players. I guess that moveset requires too many moves chained together to be effective.

I also like the Reversal and Substitute synergy. Thoughts on Reversal w/ Substitute? Won't work b/c Pikachu's Speed is really low then I'm assuming and it's better off w/ other moves.

Thanks a lot for the replies btw.

  9. Hi friends,

I have a Pikachu and was wondering what moveset would be better.

    Pikachu

    Light Ball

    Jolly

    252 Att / 252 Speed / 6 Hp

    Moveset 1.)

    - Volt Tackle

    - Focus Punch

    - Wish

    - Substitute

    Moveset 2.)

    - Volt Tackle

    - Reversal

    - Extreme Speed

    - Substitute

Or, if you have opinions on a better moveset please let me know thanks. :)

  10. @ bl0nde

Thanks for the reply, I totally forgot you could spectate Pokemon duels. I will definitely spectate some Pokemon matches in Vermillion. Not sure if I'm going to use the calculator just yet, that seems excessive. I don't need a perfect team, just one where I won't get stomped every duel or match. Kind of want to base it around the phys att Pikachu just because I'm more of a Gen 1 kind of guy lol. Farming gold and breeding 5x31s doesn't seem too bad to me so I'd like to just start off with 5x31s. Plus, it's a good timesink. I will also take a look at the guides in the guide tavern. Thanks a lot!

  11. @ Eggplant

So I'm thinking to make my team Pikachu, Starmie, Arcanine, Venusaur, Slowbro, Skarmory. When you say "bulkier" Starmie, would you just change the movesets or re-train the EVs as well? What moveset would you give Starmie and if re-training EV, what would you put the points into? I was thinking along the lines of...

Ice Beam, Surf, Recover, Rapid Spin

Don't need Thunder Bolt w/ my Pikachu and Psychic is only good vs Fighting types usually. Plus Starmie gets STAB from Surf and Ice Beam is good vs a lot of different types.

  12. Greetings, :)

I have never had a comp battle and have only played PokeMMO for a little while. I'd like to start building an OU comp team to try and I want a very good balanced team so that I don't get crushed. I don't know anything about the meta or how Pokemon battles go vs actual players as opposed to trainer NPC battles. Here are the Pokemon I have and/or would like to use.

    HAVE:

    Pikachu w/ Light Ball

    Ability: Static

    Nature: Jolly

    EV: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 6 Hp

    - Volt Tackle

    - Wish

    - Substitute

    - Focus Punch

    Starmie w/ Item?

    Ability: Natural Cure

    Nature: Hasty

    EV: 252 SAtk, 252, Spe, 6 Hp

    - Thunderbolt

    - Surf

    - Psychic

    - Ice Beam

These are the only 2 comp pokes that I have since I want to make a team w/ at least 5x31 IVs eventhough I know that it isn't necessary. Starmie is 28/2/28/29/28/31 while Pikachu is 6x31.

Here are Pokemon I'd like to use, but I'm open to all suggestions and options. Arcanine. So I'd like my team to include Pikachu, Starmie, Arcanine, please help me to choose 3 more Pokemon to make a balanced powerful OU team. I prefer GEN 1 Pokemon but will use others if they are very strong. I was told Venusaur and Slowbro are good Spell and Phys walls so I wouldn't mind adding them to my team as well. Any help and/or assistance is greatyly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to help me choose a Pokemon team.
