*edit* After giving that a fair bit of thought, I also think that's a better way to go about coloring names. Despite being a little harsh to those just entering a new next level bracket, the problems that come with coloring names via average level are much greater than coloring via highest level.The big problem with my original idea is that it fails to account for the sweeping power of a pokemon that is only one tier above the displayed one. (Example: A white player using a level 28 Wartortle is going to wipe the floor with pretty much every normal 1-14 team that is not intentionally imbalanced.) tl;dr I think going by highest level, rather than total level, is the best way to go and will promote more interesting battles than coloring by average level while still maintaining a vague sense of team toughness. =========================================== Original Post =========================================== How about coloring player's names in accordance to their average pokemon levels? It'd be nice if we had a way to size up the trainers that we're considering locking eyes with, and I think it would promote more random battling. The way things currently are, there isn't really much incentive to spontaneously challenge random people to a battles, as you have no idea whether you (or they!) will manage to put up an interesting fight. White = 1-14 Light Blue = 15-29 Blue = 30-49 Green = 50-69 Yellow = 70-89 Orange = 90-99 Red = If one or more pokemon is level 100 If the highest pokemon is two or more categories higher than their average level, the player is bumped up to that category. This is to prevent intentionally misleading level shenanigans. Example: If a player with an average level of 13 had a level 31 Dugtrio on his team, he would be listed as blue, rather than white.
