Caught Baby Pokemon

Hi there. I'm trying to complete all my PokeDex, but I cannot mark Pichu as "caught" (in a green color), only as "obtained" (in a blue color).

 

To get Pichu I bought two Pikachu's and then I breeded one Pichu from it. Should I do the same process from two Pikachu's that I caught or some thing like that?

Obs: The same happened to Cleffa and Iglybuff (both baby's breeded as Pichu).

You can do 1 Pikachu + Ditto, or 1 female Pikachu + any male in the Field/Fairy egg group. You'd still need to catch the first Pikachu but this works for all baby Pokemon

So I should just do the process with a pokemon that I caught?
