moving between regions

hey sooo im returning to the game after many years away... how does moving between regions work? do i have to start over from scratch with new pokemon? and if not how do u get the starter pokemon?

 

sorry im sure this was gone over when new regions were released but i kinda missed out on all that

Hello - and welcome back! ^^

 

You can move between regions from the port cities (Vermilion/Slateport/Castelia/Pastoria) once you have 4+ badges in the region. As an alternative, you can also switch regions by talking to your NPC mom in your starter town before obtaining 2 badges.

 

If it is the first time visiting a new region, your current Pokèmon will be sent to your PC and you get a new starter for each region. You can use your Pokèmon from a previous region once you have reached the necessary max obedience level in the respective region (it increases for each obtained badge).
