Help with slowness when logging in

Hello everyone! So, I recently got into playing pokemmo on android and am loving it. However, I see that a new issue has arisen today for me. When I try and log in, my game gets stuck on the "checking for updates" prompt for about 7-10 minutes before actually letting me sign in to my account. This was not happening yesterday, so I am concerned that something may be wrong with my device. I've already tried reconnecting to my wifi and restarting the modem, but nothing seems to work. Any tips?
