Caught Pokemon Showing as Owned

Hello,

I've noticed this a few days ago for a few more pokemon, but this seems to be happening for even Gift pokemon for some reason.
In the screenshot, you can see that this is my gift/starter, same happened to bulbasaur, even though it was my starter, I had to catch and evolve for it again for the middle evolution.

 

Any ideas why this is happening and if it's a bug?
I really don't feel like catching a few pokemon I've had before just to get them and have to evolve them again.

But some of the other pokemon that have just switched from being Caught OT to just being Owned, are much more recent, a year or two at most.
