Welcome to this berry guide, this time I'm gonna be explaining how to grow EV berries and even more important, how to sell them.

This guide is for one character, if you wanna plant on more characters just take the numbers I will give you and multiply them.
First of all, I will assume you got some kind of basic berry knowledge, I'll try and cover as much as possible with this guide but if you feel you don't know enough about berries yet imma leave you a link to basic berry guide:

With that out of the way, what are EVs, EV berries, what they are used for and how to get them.

Spoiler

EVs

Spoiler

In short EVs are effort values, when you defeat a pokemon your pokemon gains EVs, depending on the pokemon you defeat you'll gain different EVs.

There are 6 EV types, HP, attack, defense, special attack, special defense and speed.

Those will raise your stats based on which EVs you trained.

Each Pokemon can have a maximum of 510 EVs.

One stat can have a maximum of 252 EVs.

EV berries and usage:

Spoiler

So... What are EV berries? Well, sometimes you have a pokemon that you really want for PvP and you realized you trained the wrong EVs onto your mon, so these berries help removing those incorrect EVs.

They will remove them, not change them for the desired EV, so you will have to train them with the correct ones once you have removed the ones you didn't want.

For example you trained special attack for a pokemon that has a really low special attack base stat so you wanna remove it most likely, and these berries are exactly for that.

How to get them:

Spoiler

You can get these berries from various sources:

- GTL

- Pick up

- Planting and harvesting

But we're here for the farming guide so we'll learn how to grow them ourselves.

If you still want to try and farm them with pick up here's a guide for that but know that it will be not worth farming these berries this way:

Now that we now the basis let's talk about the basis of these berries, the seed combination for these berries to grow:

Spoiler

This is the complete list of berries that reduce EVs:

You decide which one you wanna plant, but take into consideration depending on the seed prices on the GTL some are more profitable than others.

IMPORTANT: My experience tells me Kelpsy berries and Tamato berries are not that popular among buyers so I would keep that in mind for choosing the one you wanna plant.

-Kelpsy berries are expensive to grow because of the very dry seed and not that many people want to reduce Attack EVs.

-Tamato berries are not that expensive but a lot of competitive mons need speed so not that many people want to reduce Speed EVs.

Quick note, you can check my custom strings for a faster interaction, but these strings are not beginner friendly so use at you own risk:

Berry planting and watering:

Spoiler

Before doing anything take into account these berries are watered every 12h irl time so choose a suitable moment for you to plant them. For example I will plant them 11am so i will have to water every 12h, that means I have to come back to water at 11pm, then next day 11am again etc..  you decide when to plant them so you know you'll be able to water them in time, it's roughly a 2 day process so make sure you'll be able to come back and water them for maximum profit.

We're going to buy 156 of each seed we need for the berry we chose and plant them on the Mistralton City airport field and Abundant Shrine, these berries are 44h berries so we will water them as soon as we plant them.

image.thumb.png.7e6f1795483c0f973056b79cf922732d.pngimage.thumb.png.8be3d37824ff29820f65704555463caf.png

Plant the entire sanctuary, the images are just an example.

After you're done planting and watering for the first time they should have 5 drops just like it's shown on the images and you'll be free to go and do whatever you want until 12h are passed.

In my case I planted at 11am so I'll have to water again at 11pm, and so on for approximately 2 days. If you don't have time to water exactly at that time you can water up to 2h later but after that it will starting to lose yield after every hour passed after those 2h so make sure you have chosen a right time to plant.

Imagine I planted Monday 11am, these berries take 1 day and 20h to grow up so I would have to water them every 12h and pick them up thursday at 7am, but don't worry you don't have to pick them up instantly, these berries wilt in 8h after they're done so I would have time until 3pm to pick them up.

This is an example, take the hours and times and adapt them to the time you planted and watered them.

That's the hard work covered and now for one of the most important topics, how to sell them(It's not a joke):

Spoiler

You will think, well ez👍 I go sell them all on the gtl or the trade right? Well, while you're not completely wrong, there are some catches for the selling:

- People will not buy them off the trade most of the time, if you mess up some EVs you will buy like 26 max per full wrong EV stat, so it makes no sense to go sell them on the trade.

-This is the most important thing about the entire guide, how to sell them on the GTL:

For the exact same reason mentioned before people do not buy many at a time, this is not a Leppa berry, people wont buy 1k EV berries in one go.

Based off my own experience with EV berries you have to be patient and not put all of your berries in one listing.

Why you might ask?

-These berries sell little by little.

-There are more people selling them.

So what's does that combine into? These berries give between 7 and 9 berries so lets say we got an average of 8 berries per plant. We would get 1.2k EV berries more or less.

Imagine you put the entire outcome in one go and just wait for them to sell.

Days will pass and you will probably have sold 10% of that amount.

Why? Because imagine the next person that farms this exact berry puts their entire outcome in one go on the market but 1 coin less than your listing.

So that will basically mean people wouldn't buy your berries unless theirs is completely sold.

It seems odd but it's way easier to sell them maybe 80 by 80. If you're feeling naughty let's maybe do 99 by 99 but never more than that, because it will take ages for them to sell and we don't want that.

What do I mean by this? Put 80 on the listing and wait for them to sell, it shouldn't take long so don't worry, and once they're sold, put another 80 until you're done selling.

And please, do not try and lower the berry price by taking 100 coins off the last listing's price because you want to sell faster, you won't, you won't make as much profit and if people do the same you did the berry price is going to go really low at the point it's not going to be profitable.

Take this as an advice, I'm not forcing you to do as I said but just know it's not going to help anyone, not even you. Please be responsible ^^.

So now to the last but not least important topic, the profit ^^.

Spoiler

I won't cover any particular berry because they all have different profits and it really depends on the GTL price for seeds and the berry selling price itself.

Let's say we got 8 average berries per plant and we got more or less 1.2k berries. I'll take Pomeg berry as an example but outcomes might change for other berries.

So for the costs:

x156 Very-Spicy-Seed-sprite.png.6faeb349c42e5a783456d422d84333b8.pngVery spicy seed: 1,8k~ per seed - 288k in total

x156 Plain-Spicy-Seed-sprite.png.d4ccd663d80f778022b921391c52027c.pngPlain spicy seed: 850~ per seed - 132k in total

x156 Plain-Bitter-Seed-sprite.png.6a159a86b33b4df55199a92121726936.pngPlain bitter seed: 975~ per seed - 152k in total

Total investment for seeds: 671k

Now for the benefits:

1.2k Pomeg-Berry-sprite.png.725a398983bac633f631cd4295a52cfb.pngpomeg berries sold at 1k a piece - 1.2m

And final profit:

1.2m for the Pomeg berries

671k for the berry cost

529k total clean benefit

Again, this is just an example, berry prices change all the time, seed costs change all the time, so you decide if this suits you ^^.

With all that said, hope it helped, you learnt something new or you enjoyed it, if you still got any questions feel free to post your doubts and I'll be glad to help.

Happy farming, Ted is out for now ^^.
