Refer to for why we're doing this. For the next round of tournaments, we're going to be testing the ban of the abilities Download and Regenerator. Porygon and Mienfoo may still be used, but only with Trace and Inner Focus respectively. The download ban was unanimous and the regenerator ban won with a 5-1 vote (adding @YettoDie's opinion to the group). Without these abilities available, most of us were proponents of Trapinch remaining unbanned by a 5-1 vote. Diglett will remain banned. Other aspects that we could not come to a conclusion were: The unbanning of Diglett without arena trap (3-3), and the banning of recycle (3-3). For now, Diglett will remain banned, and recycle will remain usable. We'll likely revisit these topics after the World Cup. TLDR: Download and Regenerator are banned. Trapinch remains unbanned. added the idea behind the choices is to try and merge smaller countries of 5 or 6 players into regions of 10-12 while also limiting the splitting of a country as much as we can. Because a captain can pick 1 of the extra tiers being played, there's really only potential for 1 duel to be relatively uncomfortable for a team to cover.

For now, we're establishing that showdown will not be played and that little cup will stay. *cue angry old people noises* Regarding LC, it's not for sure staying, as we'll need to evaluate signups and team compositions. In the event that it gets removed, just imagine an extra OU slot wherever you see LC. Regarding Captain's Choice, the captain for each country will only be able to choose between OU/UU/NU (doubles or LC will not be permitted). **If the format you would like isn't up here, please comment a reasonable format that you would like to see please!**

they were titled "manager's" in the poll for the sake of understanding based on previous events, but ofc we'll have captains choose the extra tier should that be what the public wants. In the case that it gets voted through, doubles and LC will not be options, so captains will be choosing from ou/uu/nu. I agree with the LC point as well, we can revisit this closer to the end of signups. The point of an expanded format is to try to discourage countries from splitting, which would be a lot more likely in a 5 tier format as opposed to 7+. Seems to make more sense to combine smaller countries than to split bigger countries up, but that's definitely a decision to be made later on after gauging signups. And I can pretty confidently say that there are more mmo players that are adequate at LC than VGC2021 (the current leading sd tier).
