We play games because of they fun to play. You can make this game pay to win we dont care; we like to trade, collect, chat, troll around. So why dont you make this game more cash cow?
You can sell in game money and skip storyline items. So rich people will just pay money and they will count as finished the game. Also you can buy everything from other players. Think about it; i am a rich lazy stupid person and i can buy everything but i dont want to play the game. Than you sell me in game items or cash pokemon shop which created by moderators by buying pokemons from real players. And i buy everything i act like i completely beat the game because i am rich. So we must be able to buy level 100 ev trained Dragonite by using real money and we must b able to skip story.
Also making game easy and fun doesnt mean you will not gain money. If your game be better more people will play it and you can also make it secretly pay to win too. For free players you will say "pvp is just meaningless this game is about our love towards to pokemons". Also free players can get all items just by playing the game so for paying players its easier to be strong but free players still can be stronger than them and they will be. Because a hardcore gamer cant be beaten by normal humans so rich people can still suck at this game.
You skipped gen 4 starters Empleon, Infernape, Torterra. Also you must add custom maps where more pokemons will spawn and everything will be more random or based on players level. You have to add legendary pokemons because we want to collect them we want to pet them. But you must edit their base stats. Pokemon is boring because always same stuff is happening; pokemon needs more randomness; more pokemons must spawn in maps.
I really want you to edit type chart a little bit. Rock type have too much weakness remove water weakness from them and rock attacks can be weak against grass; that will also buff grass pokemons. So water will be weaker and grass will be stronger against rock types. Bug types must be able to hit ghost; that will buff bugs a little bit. I am sure steel types are very illogical i think poison and psyhic must be super effective against them but atleast they can deal 1 damage thats why steel is broken; they ressit psyhic and immune to poison. Grass type is weakest and most useless and most ignored type in game also Grass starters suck very bad and most grass pokemons can only use grass moves while many other types able to use grass moves too. Ice destroys dragons it also destroys ground and grass; but grass type is very useless and weak and nobody tried to buff them a little bit. Grass must not be weak to fly, resist against rock. Ice must resist to water, ground, fly. Did you know actually ice is weak against water and water is one of most op types wit rain dance. Also ice doesnt hit bugs and steels; while steel is being weak to fire it is not weak to ice but actually in real life steel resists heat and coldness effect steel very badly. Think about magma elementals; they freeze in ice and they immune to fire; thats steel. Whatever lets dont mess with type chart otherwise players will not recognise it.
That phenoman mechanic is very cool and long grass, hordes. You may also add raid dungeons and pokeboxs shards, key fragments. Keys and boxes will come from different events. We may also make survival style arena; where players will keep damages and try to survive in tournament. I really dont understand why dont you see this game something like League of Legends, Overwatch, Warcraft. You can be very rich from this game than pay some amount of money to right owners. If you be too successful you can make your own game like Monster Rancher 2, Digimon World 2, Temtem, Miscrits.
