1. @DeoA I generally prefer to leave sprites unless the problems are very significant, but if you want I can create a patch for you that has content that you prefer rather than the content that you don't. @InnerMobius (or anyone else who knows) So shall I move to the Customization section? I can see why Client Customization was a poor choice but I think it would at least qualify for that.
2. Thanks for the info DeoA, it helps when people report bugs, especially when my preview program shows the sprites as apparently correct. I will look into the broken sprites and try to figure out why they are doing this. I plan on using the latest sprites from the site instead of adapting other peoples work for the newest releases. If there are sprites you don't like or want some legacy sprites put back in I can make a small patch to go over the top of the major patch to fix the problem.
3. @Moetal Fair enough, I suppose it is just preference I have, and nobody seems to be complaining regardless. As for the swap, as long as there is a colour change it should be fine, if it makes it easier for people to distinguish pokemon it would be for the best. Personally though, I never had a problem differentiating between them, even though they had similar palette.
4. @lerais I just downloaded the file from the link without issue, logged in and out. Please tell me again if the link is still broken, if it is I will just double-upload to allow you to download. @Londar I think I actually made this on a US version, but if there are issues I can adapt it to resolve the issue.
5. Checking the topic and see a triple post. It doesn't seem like it causes that much harm, but sometimes you can get in a lot of trouble for it, try to use the edit function to avoid any inconveniences Evesa. @Moetal ms33661 contains a handful of sprites that could've been used. Some of them I understand were just legacies updated, but there were a few that could've been used.
6. @Moemi Depending if Moegar wishes to continue Fire Red himself you may be waiting either a long or short time since he is in a sticky situation with ban. I would do it myself but I don't want to go and take over his project without giving him a chance. He seems to also speaks as if he is going to do it when he comes back, but if he doesn't want to I'll just do myself.
7. @Moe I think it's fine to make more regular updates with small fixes, but I see where you are coming from, why would anyone download the patch AGAIN just to add 5 new sprites? Maybe if we used the version number system, it gives people better detail about the latest release. There may be people out there who just like having the latest version (for example v3.4), but for the people who don't care about small updates so much can just stick to the major releases (for example v3.0). There could be a problem with no MAJOR releases not happening because it is updated so often with small fixes, so maybe there could be a major release number increment every 30 or so sprite changes just to keep it clear (for example v3.4 -> v4.0 after we reach 30 new sprite changes). We could also keep pages clean by simply posting the last handful of releases (v3.0 all the way to v4.0 for example). I wouldn't blame you for saying that doing this would be a lot more work then what it already is, but small patches don't take too long to make, and it would solve the issue of there not being enough new content to warrant an update (I would agree that 4 pokemon being updated is not enough for even a small update, but plus the 16 other pokemon being redrawn to look better I think is enough content for a small update now). On a side note to anyone who cares, it is possible to make small patches to go over the original IPS patch. So you could still use say that alternate Jolteon, even though it is not in the main release.
8. Well since Moe said it was okay for me to take over Fire Red I may as well, since I am doing Emerald anyway. There could be some issues with a few of the new sprites that are slightly more showy, but personally I don't think any of them are bad enough to trigger any forum rules (I could be wrong though). @Zizel I liked the fact that they are making sprites past the 3rd gen, so I thought I might some research into DS pokemon sprite modding. I have only done a few image extractions on Soul Silver and see that they use 80x80 resolution images (compared to the 64x64 3rd gen uses). To enlarge from 64 to 80 either causes uneven pixel stretching or blurring using filtering. I could simply leave the images at 64 and see how that goes I suppose... If I make any headway in DS sprite modding I will most likely post it if it isn't too horrible
9. Thanks Moe. Even though there is new content up there it doesn't seems like enough to warrant an update. Maybe I will check it every once in a while and try to do the updates myself if nobody else does, will see what happens I guess.
10. Moemon: Emerald 20th March 2013 Intro: Hello everyone! I have been working on adapting Moemon sprites to Pokemon: Emerald to bring back one of my favorite games, but with Moemon! I decided to post this because of my long journey for Moemon: Emerald. When I first discovered Moemon: Fire Red, I was amazed that people were doing this kind of work. I soon found out that there were a LOT of releases for Moemon: Fire Red, but only a handful for Emerald which were either VERY old, not polished or had glitches. So I decided to fix the game myself. After learning how to mod roms I began the painful search for more up-to-date releases of Moemon sprites. Constantly finding that the sprites I was using were outdated. my search led me to the Pokemon MMO forums where people like BakaSchwarz and Moegar had made very new and shiny releases of Moemon: Fire Red! Using the content from Moegar's latest release I bring you this Moemon: Emerald. Note: I may edit and or replace sprites if they look like they are not correct, so there may be differences when I use other peoples releases to adapt my own. HUGE amounts of credit to him. Here is a link to his Moemon: Fire Red patch. BakaSchwarz also worked on Moemon: Fire Red before Moegar pretty much took over it. Here is a link to his work on Moemon: Fire Red. This is a link I found on BakaSchwarz's topic, he says "I don't own any of the graphics. The original author of the graphics has a website, which is located here.". I will say it also, I do not own any of the graphics used in this mod. ALL credit to the original artists who made these images. Pokemon is owned and developed by Game Freak and Nintendo. 11. Where did you get your resource materials from? I am checking the authors site and finding their latest IPS files using different (older looking) sprites. Maybe we are using the older ones and I am just mistaking their ones for old ones.
12. I am very pleased to see continued patching for pokemon fire red but find it sad that emerald has become lost to time. I do maintain my own personal version of emerald using sprites i find here and there (this place being the most up-to-date as of this being written), sometimes fixing bad colour pallets, multiple IPS conflict errors, all that kind of stuff. Anyway, I wouldn't mind adapting Moes' work to pokemon emerald and maintain with new releases. If Moe wishes to do this kind of stuff alone that is fine, I just thought that there might be people like myself who want to play moemon emerald, but simply don't have the time to manually patch sprites, debug and or fix IPS conflict errors. I could work on prettymuch any gen 3 game, just emerald has become especially forsaken.
