I agree this game is much like chess except you have about 9 options to choose from every time you go into battle. Either you stay in and use your 4 moves or you switch out to your other 5 pokemon. There's skill in this game it's just different. Not as much skill required than other game's like counter strike and dota 2 but it's still there. The reason for this because if rng plays a huge factor in the outcome of a battle that's not skill. It's luck. But the skill lays on knowing what Moveset a pokemon could have, after that it's predicting and if you don't have anything to answer to it, let's hope rng is on my side.
I agree with your hypothetical blonde it's hard to argue against it. There have been battles I've done with my short time back where I'd say wow that crit or that paralyze won me the duel. Or saved me from a match up I shouldn't of won. This is mainly why I'll be going back to dota 2 it is much more rewarding when I know factors like this didn't help me win. -
Need to correct you on how pick up works, you don't kill the pokemon. You faint them.

3 years lol

Payday does not scale by your pokemons levels. It's by the level of the pokemon you used payday on.

Exactly what I said too.Haha you only seem to read that you want to read and just miss the point...and I don't care for Chansey or any OU, they can all be banned i don't care.. i don't do singles anyways
This thread is going no where. you had an idea it was shut down and you just try to shut down all that shut you down. -
1) You never made an argument before this post.
2) I never said we have no say in the matter. If that's your only argument that my courtroom analogy is wrong, then it is dismissed.
3) This thread is not connected to the chansey thread.
4) The judges are appointed by the government. The legislature is voted on by the people to promote their interests. I don't remember voting.
1. I did my arguments is your illogical approach makes you not credible
2. Prove that it isn't like a council
3. Using it to provide support for my claims on why it's like a council
4. This is not a political campaign it is up for discussion, if they make the decisions without our consent, why do they post it to the public forums to discuss.
5. You clearly are not reading or have bad reading comprehension I'm sure the many who read our arguments understand our stance but you keep repeating the same thing. Even when we shut it down, stubbornness must be your strongest trait. -
I'm sure you didn't even bother to read any of the arguments. But I'll gladly argue your logic. The decision making process in pokemmo is much like a council because the bans are proposed, discussed between the competitive communities within reason, than the multiple decisions are formed. Whether it is to ban them or not or to test ban them is the final decisions of the council. But they take into consideration the logical arguments presented and note it, as you can see happening in the chansey thread. Your analogy of a courtroom is invalid, since you stated we the observers have no say in the matter, when in fact we do if it's logical. Take for instance in the courtroom the defendant has his friend testify his innocent with an argument proven to be illogical, it will get dismissed. So far your approaches to many of the arguments point to you being the illogical friend. Happy now?Legislative body makes decisions on all aspects of life (or game in this case). That would probably be moderators. Tiering council doesn't do that, they just hold a trial and make one decision ban or not bad (put a person to jail or not), like a court. I said all this before and repeating myself. Read the whole argument on page 1 again, comment if you want to disprove my argument, reply to the question originally asked or say something valuable, not just for the sake of replying and arguing.
You still haven't made one argument on the topic.- NikhilR, Champlooo, SamuraiHunter and 1 other

so what made you think that they resemble each other? The word "council"? Yea, that's how fifth graders make connections between words. Also you said you question my support of this argument, but you haven't actually asked one question and you haven't said anything about my argument.
For someone who claims to have a degree in political science, you sure aren't good at arguments. Since you know politics require effective rhetorical skills. Bearing the statement you just proposed I don't even know how to respond because it doesn't make any sense and to clarify my reasons for turning down your arguments it is because You could not interpret a simple comparison presented to you. Making me suspicious of anything being true. It's also evidently clear you are not thoroughly reading any other arguments before your responses. -
Nice try, but read again. I said I don't know how the pokemon ban discussion resembles a city council, it resembles more a court and a trial and I explained it step by step. Disprove my argument if you can. Don't throw empty phrases and insults.
You don't understand what a reference is do you? He was comparing city council to the actions of pokemin council. You would need to be in 5th grade not to know an analogy as simple as this one. Empty phrases and insults? I'm question your support to this argument, because as of now I call bull shit you have a degree in anything. -
I know what city council is, got my degree in political science and economics heh I just don't see how a pokemon ban discussion resembles "proposing bills". They don't make decisions on the economy and other aspects of the game, they are just having a trial and making one decision, ban or no ban. Ban being jail, especially in OU, because the pokemon can't be used competitively anymore.
Sorry you said you have your degree in political science and didn't understand the reference he was making to a council. You lost all validity in your arguments as of now. -
Shiny hunting? I don't want to quit yet.

If you want to use pokemon with skill, go ahead, but you shouldn't force everyone to use them. Most pokemons are easy to use anyways, should we ban them all? The mechanics you mentioned that are present here just suggest that all pokemons that have a usage higher than a certain number should be banned. Or that if pokemon very good at something, it should be banned... Every pokemon is good at something.
Snorlax and Blisseygot banned making Gengar too strong. Now Gengar is banned making Chansey too strong? How long that can continue? This is my last post in this discussion, so you can sleep well. But before that I want to say something. For the past year or more I haven't been too involved in the game due to the changes. Everytime I would log in, something got banned. I thought maybe it's just me who doesn't like it. But in fact everyone knows that OU sucks. It's has been getting worse and worse and the tiering council keeps banning things trying to make it better and as they say bring "balance". I doubt you will ever understand is that the more you ban the worse it will get. If you remember the best days if OU (which I remember very well) there were no walls other than Snorlax and Blissey, there were much less pokemons than now. I talk about times even before breeding or even the times breeding was just implemented. OU was great and it's hard to argue with that and more people played than UU, it was for a reason. Nothing was banned. It's off topic, but it's true.
You can run an experiment, for a month bring Snorlax, Blissey, Gengar (possibly even Tyranitar and Dragonite) run a tourney every week and see if people like it. You will be surprised.
This statement is subjective at its core. How do you know people would enjoy curse spamming snorlax 360 no scoping your whole team. Or enjoying a special wall that can deal damage too. I know I wouldn't enjoy watching that or playing that. -
First was ragnarok online, than swtor, than mortal online. You guys are not hardcore enough to play mortal online. Try it i dare you. Still playing mortal online, and dota 2. Mostly dota 2 since i always go back to it.

I was on a MMO and the requirement was 500 playtime hours, and another one was 600 playtime hours + bunch of money. This is the only MMO I played with such a low requirement to make a team. That is my problem, makes these teams seem cheap compared to other MMO's
edit: my purpose isnt to say the requirements are shitty, it is more to let you guys know, that people coming from other MMO's will think this MMO is just cheap and move on.
What game are those? Seems I would quit it instantly, so your required to solo for 500 hrs than you can partake in guild events..... -
Everyone is broke, it takes forever to sell stuff.
