1. Aerodactyl One of the fastest sweepers in the game with a max of 200 speed. With a solid 105 base attack, Aerodactyl is a premier physical sweeper boasting unresisted coverage with Earthquake, Rock Slide, and Double Edge. Builds:
-With the amount of Jolteons and opposing Aerodactyls in the competitive scene, max speed and +speed nature is a must unless you’re ballsy or foolish enough to forego a speed nature for an attack nature. All Out Attacker Ability: Rock Head Item: Choice Band Nature: Jolly Ivs and Evs: 31* speed. 252 Atk and Speed Moveset: Rock Slide Double Edge Earthquake Wing Attack (more PP than Aerial Ace) Just a standard attacking Aerodactyl. You can drop Rock Slide for Ancient Power although not recommended. “Novelty” Aerodactyl Ability: Pressure/Rock Head (Depends if you choose to use Double Edge) Item: Leftovers Nature: Jolly/Hasty/Naive Ivs and Evs: 31* speed. Max out Attack and Speed Moveset: Rock Slide Earthquake Taunt/Substitute Fireblast/Double Edge *Substitute or Taunt allows Aerodactyl to hustle its way through walls; the former allows it to beat Weezing while the latter allows it to take Skarmorys without steel wing (keep in mind Taunt is not that good lasting only 2 turns in Gen 3). Fireblast allows Aerodactyl to nail Skarmory for a 3hko after blocking spikes with Taunt.
Team Synergy:
Quagsire makes for a great pair as it eliminates many of its weaknesses. Like everything else, it is a great recipient from Atk boosts from Scizor or Smeargle. Specially defensive Scizor with Swords Dance and Baton Pass also really helps Aerodactyl
Damage Calculation:
252 Atk Choice Band Aerodactyl Hidden Power Flying vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Claydol: 54-64 (32.3 - 38.3%) -- 2.7% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery 252 Atk Choice Band Aerodactyl Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Claydol: 62-73 (37.1 - 43.7%) -- 99.8% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
Counters: Slowbro, Weezing, Skarmory, Claydol, Slowking, Vaporeon Alakazam This mustache hombre is back after breeding with some sweet new tricks. He’s fast, he’s strong, and he’s versatile. Builds:
Max speed would be optimal although not absolutely necessary unless if you’re scared of losing to the uncommon Dugtrio. Speed tying other Alakazams will only be useful if it comes down to 1 vs 1as its a lot smarter to save your Zam from taking too much damage. Zam Ability: Synchronize (Inner focus is only useful to prevent flinching from fake out, etc) Item: Lum berry Nature: Timid Ivs and Evs: Although 31 speed is not necessary make sure you hit at least 184 speed to beat Starmie. 252 Satk and Speed Moveset: Psychic Shadow Ball Signal Beam Calm Mind/HP Fighting/Taunt *Psychic is just primary stab coupled with Shadow Ball and Signal Beam for coverage. Signal beam hits dark types for decent damage while HP Fighting is mainly for Tyranitar. MakeUmbreonCryZam Ability: Synchronize Item: Leftovers Nature: Timid/Modest Ivs and Evs: Higher Hp and Sdef along with High Satk and Speed. 252 Satk, enough speed to hit 179 (outspeed Gengar), and put the rest in Hp or Sdef. Moveset: Psychic Calm Mind Fire Punch/Thunder Punch Substitute *Awh how cute you guys complain so much about walls. Umbreon beats Zam blah blah blah well not anymore. Umbreon+Weezing Combo can finally go down. Substitute on the opponents switch to Umbreon and start Calm Minding up. Pursuit will eventually not break the Sub and you can blast Fire Punches. Prediction is KEY; Sub on the predicted Umbreon’s switch and Calm Mind on its Pursuit. Others: Trick is still pretty crappy right now without Choice Band as the worst item you can trick is Macho Brace. If you got huge balls then you can run Encore and switch in on cursing snorlaxes and Encore+Psychic it to death.
Team Synergy:
Dugtrio with Reversal will help clear Blissey/Snorlax/Umbreon/Houndoom out of the way for Alakazam to sweep. Alakazam has a difficult time switching in so Baton Passing with a slower pokemon to bring it in will really aid its longevity.
Counters: Blissey, Snorlax, and Umbreon (Counters first set). Priority moves make Alakazam cry due to its pitiful defense. Anything faster with a strong attack will kill. Arcanine The legendary fire dog that wishes it has physical stab. High all around stats but shallow movepool. Builds:
Howl Arc Ability: Intimidate Item: Leftovers/Lum berry Nature: Brave/Naughty/Lonely Ivs and Evs: With brave and 31 speed ivs it only needs 28 speed evs(107 speed) to outspeed Jolly Marowaks(106 speed). If Naughty or Lonely make sure to hit 108 speed to beat out Exeggutors. Max out attack and dump the rest in Hp. Moveset: Howl Double Kick Extremespeed Overheat/Flamethrower/Fireblast *Howl up and nail those incoming Snorlax and Blissey. Extremespeeding weakened pokes after a Howl is always fun. The last slot is just basic fire stab off a surprisingly strong 100 bast special attack. The choice between power and accuracy is up to the user. I prefer overheat for the damage output and fairly nice accuracy despite the special attack drop. Brave/Lonely allows you to survive a Starmie surf and kill the Starmie with 2 Extremspeeds if Starmie ever decides to switch in. Others: A special attacking Arcanine can be made with Crunch, Flamethrower/Fireblast, Extremspeed, and Hp grass/water/ice. Morning Sun is also viable for recovery.
Team Synergy:
Electric types like Jolteon can help clear the bulky waters out of way. Starmie does the same and can even switch in on the likes of Vaporeon while taking minimal Surf damage.
Counters: Vaporeon, Slowbro, Slowking, Salamence, Dusclops, and Gyarados. Blissey Behold, the oncoming storm, the nightmare that terrorizes monsters, the defensive behemoth. The absolute ruler of special walls and the bane of special attackers. Blissey is the pink blob that has left so many uguuy players salty. Nearly all special attacks are useless against this monster due to high Hp, Sdef, and instant recovery. Builds:
CounterBliss Ability: Natural Cure (NEVER USE SERENE GRACE) Item: Leftovers Nature: Bold Ivs and Evs: 252 Hp and Def Moveset: Softboil Counter Thunder Wave/Toxic/Aromatherapy Flamethrower/Seismic Toss/Ice Beam/Thunderbolt *This set has become a trademark of so many players due to its ability to take out physical attackers. The reason why this set works so well is due to the lack of choice band. When you know you’ll live a physical hit, counter back the attack for massive damage (almost a guaranteed kill on any physical hitter) and softboil back up later. The third slot is a toss up between crippling your opponent or healing your entire team. The last slot prevents opponents from setting up on you; choose the move you deem best for your team. SuperBliss Ability: Natural Cure Item: Leftovers Nature: Modest/Bold Ivs and Evs: 252 Def and Satk Moveset: Softboil Calm Mind Thunderbolt Icebeam *Pretty self-explanatory. Calm Mind up when you feel like you’ve eliminated Blissey’s threats and start the sweep. Calm Mind makes up for Blissey’s mediocre special attack. Others: If you’re unsure about the first set you can drop off counter for any other moves listed in the moveset for a more supportive Blissey.
Team Synergy:
Physical walls pair well with Blissey obviously. Weezing or Skarmory takes care of Blissey's physical weakness stat and type wise. Blissey also lacks offensive capabilities so she really relies on hard hitters like Marowak to beat the other team.
Counters: Machamp, Snorlax, and Heracross. SubPunch deserves a special mention as a super effective 150 power physical move will put major dents in Blissey. Set up on the Counter set to Ohko Blissey to prevent her from countering. Although Blissey can wall for days it has very weak offensive capabilities unless if you’re slow enough to let it Calm Mind up. Strong physical stab will typically give Blissey a hard time. Breloom The mushroom warrior here to lead its team to victory. One of the strongest Focus Punchers in the game and access to the almighty Spore puts Breloom at the top of its game despite having one of the lowest base stats in OU. Builds:
SporePunch Item: Leftovers, Lum berry Nature: Adamant Ivs and Evs: 252 Atk, Aim for 110-120 speed, rest in Hp. Although max speed is fine since Breloom won’t be tanking any hits. Moveset: Spore Focus Punch Mach Punch/Brick Break HP Ghost/Rock/Flying (If you can’t get a good HP then use Leech Seed, Sludge Bomb, Iron Tail or Double Edge). *Bring it in safely on a pokemon you know it outspeeds and put it to sleep. Once you feel safe let the Focus Punch rip. Even resisted Focus Punch does massive damage (112.5 power). Mach Punch allows you to pick off weaker pokemon and the listed HPs give you the most coverage. If you can’t get those then pair Breloom up with a pursuit trapper to take care of ghosts that otherwise render Breloom useless. Others: Substitute can be put on to make it safer to launch Focus Punches.
Team Synergy:
Houndoom or Umbreon can get rid of the Psychics/Ghost types that stop Breloom. Breloom needs a lot to fall back on to compensate for its low defenses. Vaporeon with Wish can handle Breloom's common switch in Salamence and Weezing.
Counters: Weezing, Salamence, Claydol, Crobat, Gyarados, Gengar and other ghost friends (Check for HP first), Slowbro, Slowking, and Venusaur. Getting an Intimidate off on Breloom will be extremely beneficial. If the Breloom doesn’t have HP ghost than Gengar becomes its worst nightmare. Charizard The favorite starter of many children in first world countries. A dragon to be feared when you hear the beat of the drums. Belly Drum boosts Charizard’s attack to insane heights. Builds:
BellyZard Item: Salac berry Nature: Adamant/Lonely Ivs and Evs: 252 Atk and Speed, If using Substitute hit an Hp that allows you to activate Salac after a Substitute+Belly Drum so you’re left with around 25% Hp. Moveset: Belly Drum Endure/Substitute Rock Slide/Brick Break Earthquake/ Wing Attack *Bring Charizard in on a pokemon if will force out and set up a Sub. Then Belly Drum to activate a Salac. Now you’re at +6 Atk and +1 Speed. Rock Slide+Earthquake and Brick Break+Wing Attack provide nearly perfect coverage so either set is fine. SubPunch Zard Item: Leftovers Nature: Lonely/Mild/Naughty/Rash Ivs and Evs: 108 Atk lets Charizard do 50% to Blissey with Focus Punch but you can invest more Atk to hit even harder. Splitting up between Atk, Satk, and Speed is up to personal preference. If you want a more wallbreaker set invest less speed. 252 speed evs and 31 speed neutral nature allows Charizard to outspeed jolly Heracross. Moveset: Substitute, Focus Punch, Fireblast/Flamethrower, Thunder Punch/HP Grass/Ice *The ev spread for this is not set in stone and you can adjust to your liking. SubPunch is makes for easier predictions and blocks status. Fireblast/Flamethrower goes back to the century old debate of power or accuracy. Thunder Punch allows Charizard to hit bulky water types that otherwise wall him. HP Grass hits rock/ground much harder than Focus Punch. HP Ice hits Salamence. Others: Substitute can be replaced for another attacking move or Sunny Day if you can successfully predict without it.
Team Synergy:
BellyZard benefits a lot from teammates weakening opposing bulky waters. Spikes will significantly help Charizard nab the KO on physical walls like Slowbro and Vaporeon. Zard has crippling weakness to Water, Electric, and Rock which Quagsire covers.
Counters: Vaporeon, Arcanine, Donphan (Roar out BellyZard), Salamence, Gyarados (dies to Thunder Punch), Slowbro, Slowking, and Aerodactyl (resists fire moves and retaliate with a faster Rock Slide). DO NOT be stupid and give Charizard 2 turns to set up. Roar it out when it sets the Belly Drum. Claydol The reanimated doll here to support your team. This doll has the typing and ability to resist 3 major physical attack types; Fighting, Rock, and immunity to Ground. With immunity to Spikes and access to Rapid Spin, its no wonder why this clay monster is so useful to a team. Builds:
SpinnerDoll Item: Leftovers Nature: Relaxed/Sassy Ivs and Evs: 252 Hp and rest in Def/Sdef Moveset: Rapid Spin Earthquake Psychic Toxic/Ice Beam/Light Screen/Reflect/Explosion/Rest *The variety of supporting moves allow Claydol to perform different functions. Earthquake is a strong stab option for some damage output. Psychic stab lets Claydol do serious work to fighting types. Toxic lets Claydol wear down threats that would otherwise wall it. Ice Beam is a great option for taking down Salamence. The dual screens are great support depending on how you invested in def/sdef. Rest is gives Claydol some longevity but isn’t reliable as a 2 turn sleep is extremely detrimental. Explosion lets Claydol finish off a dangerous threat after the opposing Spikes user is cleared.
Counters: Forretress (Toxic), Vaporeon, Blissey, Dusclops, Gyarados (Surf variants), Heracross (can live Psychic and kill with MegaHorn), Lapras, Ludicolo, Slowbro, Slowking, Snorlax, Starmie, and Umbreon. Dusclops gets a special mention since it can spin block and wear down Claydol with stab super effective Shadow Ball. Crobat The poisonous bat which redeemed the Zubat evolution line. Fast physical sweeper with special attacking potential. Blazing speed makes it a great late game sweeper. Pairing Crobat with a Magneton will eliminate steel type problems. Builds:
Late Game Sweeper Item: Lum Berry/Leftovers/Choice Band Nature: Jolly Ivs and Evs: 31 speed isn’t absolutely necessary as it can’t beat the other 2 pokemons in the 200 speed tier. Although Crobat can pick off weakened Jolteons and Aerodactyls with Sludge Bomb and Steel Wing. 252 Atk, hit 190 speed to outspeed Alakazams or max speed, put leftovers into Hp. Moveset: Sludge Bomb Shadow Ball HP Flying/Wing Attack HP Fighting/HP Ground/Confuse Ray/Heat Wave/Steel Wing *Remove Crobat’s counters and weaken the opposing team to let Crobat sweep. Sludge Bomb is it’s best bet at hurting things with a nice 30% poison chance. Shadow Ball lets it pick off psychic types. Wing Attack is solid stab against the fighting types which Crobat will be switching into. HP fighting or ground would be optimal for dealing with Steel/Rock types that Crobat has difficulties with. Sludge Bomb hits harder than super effective HP ground so its not needed. Confuse Ray can let Crobat get lucky. Heat Wave nails steel types that often switch into Crobat. Steel Wing (NOT recommended) can hit rock types for decent damage. Others: Taunt is also quite useful I guess
Counters: Scizor, Skarmory, Forretress, Slowbro, Umbreon, Vaporeon, Weezing, Steelix, and Aggron. If using steel types check for Heat Wave first before making a mistake. Dugtrio Arena Trap makes Dugtrio arguably the best revenge killer in the game, because grounded Pokemon are prevented from switching out. This means that if Dugtrio can safely switch in on a grounded Pokemon it's guaranteed to KO, your opponent can kiss that team member goodbye. Builds:
Trap Squad 3.0 Ability: Arena Trap Item: Liechi berry Nature: Jolly/Adamant Ivs and Evs: 252 Atk and Speed Moveset: Earthquake Reversal Substitute/Endure Screech/Rock Slide * Bring Dugtrio in on weakened foes and finish them off. Arena Trap is absolutely necessary. Use Jolly if you want to trap the likes of Starmie and Alakazam. If not then use Adamant. Earthquake is Dugtrio’s strongest move. Reversal gives Dugtrio a powerful 200 power fighting attack while activating its +1 berry boost. Substitute is preferred since its easier for prediction and stopping status. Screech prevents Snorlax and Blissey from building up defense with Curse and Defense Curl, respectively. Rock Slide allows for a last ditch effort to kill Gengars. Item: Choice Band Nature: Jolly Ivs and Evs: 252 Atk and Speed Moveset: Earthquake Rock Slide Aerial Ace HP Ghost/HP Bug * Simple set. Come on on weakened pokemons, trap, and kill. QuakeSlide combo for decent all around coverage. Aerial Ace Ohko's Breloom and Heracross. HP Ghost hits Gengars but Dugtrio can't trap Gengars. HP Bug is for grass types like Exeggutor.
Counters: Skarmory, Claydol, Exeggutor (bulky), Slowbro, Slowking, Vaporeon, and Weezing. Any pokemon that can take a hit from Dugtrio and hit back with a strong stab move will more than likely Ohko.
 2. Just a guide like Smogon but for PokeMMO. The sets may be incomplete or lacking since I'm not the perfect competitive dueler and don't consider myself to be so if you have any sets or discussions then bring it up and I'll try to include it. Don't be afraid to let me know I made a mistake so I can correct myself. List: Aerodactyl Alakazam Arcanine Blissey Breloom Chansey Charizard Claydol Crobat Dugtrio Dusclops Espeon Exeggutor Gengar Gyarados Heracross Houndoom Jolteon Jynx Kangaskhan Kingdra Lapras Ludicolo Machamp Marowak Salamence Scizor Skarmory Slaking Slowbro Slowking Smeargle Snorlax Starmie Tauros Umbreon Ursaring Vaporeon Venusaur Weezing
 3. Regardless shinychansey had no rights to call that since it wasn't stated in the forum thread. He has a history of making up rules on the spot to dq lyle
 4. Can we get a different host for this? I don't wanna get dq'd for making a prediction
 5. lol over 100 reserves and still a 32 man bracket. if you couldn't have done it all in one day why not split it up to two days like staff have done in the past? terrible decisions on rejecting a 64 man bracket because refs are too lazy
 6. Image: Blooregard Q Kazoo Text: TheBloo [LYLE] (under my name) Background: anything cool Little description (if need):
 7. Johan why are you always so salty?
 8. oh we were talking about how we would try and fix it by letting gary have the prize (although it doesn't make up for tranz's error) but instantly we get shit talked by every team especially nlce. lyle gets so much shit from your team
 9. You didn't account for the fact that players who love competitive play are willing to wait that long.
 10.

lol i feel bad for whoever opens all of this

11. changing this from 64 man to 32 man<<<<<<<<<<< the lack of staff willing to ref really lets the competitive community down
 12. Honestly I really dislike how boosts are included in the speed tier. It's really unnecessary. Any pokemon can change speed tiers if you say +salac or +6 speed boost. Other than that not bad
