In the original Pokémon Platinum you could exchange your Star Pieces with Mr. Fuego in Fuego Ironworks and he would give you each color of the Shards. I was a bit disappointed when I went trough the entire building and the feature wasn't implemented. Personally I think that would be a great addition to the game because of all the shards needed for the tutor moves.
